A very informative vid. I really want to try the Marshmallow root powder, but when i googled the shop name "Food for All" Cazenove Road Stoke Newington, i was told no results were found. Would you mind double checking the name for me please, possibly with the door or a phone number, as i recently went to Nubian Naturals in Brixton, which my friend told me about, only to find that it had shut down 2mths previously. And as i live in East London i was NOT impressed! Thanks in advance.
@lilsisa427 thank you! link to the demo of this style is in the description box. I did mention where the ingredients are from but as it is on the high road, you wont be able to access it unless you are in the uk
I use marshmallow root and amla and the Irish Moss sounds really interesting! I need another product like a hole in the head, but you know I got to go read about this!!!!
@NappyNFree lol I know what you mean, thanks to you I am using Kalpi tone which is very good :) I have maka and shikakai here too. not used them yet, how about yourself? and thank you, the link to my style demo is now in the description box :)
Interesting video! You definitely made me want to see how these ingredients work for me,especially the amla powder. My skin has been breaking out more than usual over the past month :(.
@KinkyTresses oh dear, the skin is another battle sometimes too eh. Did you get a chance to get some bentonite clay? I find the bentonite clay and amla work really well together. Happy experimenting! x
@wcallisa22 aww I wanted you to give me the basics :) I guess you have in a way with har growth. I bought some cassia on the weekend and apparently that is good for conditioning my hair. I am all about the conditioning atm!
I would have NEVER guessed you had problems with acne! Before u mentioned it I was thinking, "gosh her skin is so pretty". So how often to you use the amla for your skin. I resolved my adult acne but it doesn't hurt to find out other remedies. Great info and I LOVE your hair :-)
@LuBellaCoils Thank you! lol ppl assume I've always had good skin. I never really had an issue in my teens but 2009-2010, it was like my skin was making up for lost time. I use amla once a week along with bentonite clay, I use the oil cleansing method every morning, I exfoliate 1-2 a week, drink lots of water, use spf n reduce stress. By paying more attention to my skin and body needs, I have been able to resolve the acne - for the most part. How about yourself, how did u resolve ur acne?
@TheNaprika I still use my ACV on my face @ night. I also take the EPO (Evening Primrose Oil) daily. Although I recently ran out of the EPO I haven't had any acne. I didn't have teenage acne either. I got it really bad in my mid 30s. Mine was definitely hormonal and I saw a huge difference with the EPO. Do you have a vid on your oil cleansing method?
@LuBellaCoils ah i want to go back to my acv and green tea toner mix . Do you use it un/diluted as a wash or on a cotton pad? I also take EPO daily and not only for my skin my mood is more level when the sister from red hills comes to visit ;) I have a vid on my ocm yes. Will be posting the link in the description box. Thanx for asking :)
@TheNaprika I use it undiluted on a cotton ball. I didn't know EPO effects your mood. I noticed in your pic where you showed the acne, it was along your jawline/cheeks. Mine looked just like that. The EPO cleared that type of acne up for me.
Great information! loved it, have tried the Amla, but in an oil base though, love Bentonite Clay by the way also, it elongates my curl pattern I've noticed as does Henna.
@VickyVue Thank you! Yes I 've noticed Henna loosens curl too, I was able to do a length check when I applied henna the other day! Because I have tight curls at the front, it is amazing to see these curls loosen up with bentonite clay as well. Feel the curls look cute and I then marvel at how amazing my fro is!
hey Irishmoss is for drinking!! lol just kidding, great video. my only gripe is the bit about the vitamin A and etc for hair. I not sure hair can do anything with vitamins, only water, oil and protein can affect hair
@soursop lol Jamaicans seem to go crazy over that stuff! I like your name, reminds me of my all time fav of custard apples. I just used to pick them off the tree in Jam and how I miss Ginnep! I see your point there with vit a IM can help out the scalp and when you are putting it in your hair, it conditions. Just like how our hair benefits from vit c. Also irish moss is great for the skin and body (internally) for those reasons. The iron content within is good for those suffering from anaemia 2
@TheNaprika ok, yes, agree with the scalp, I feel you on the Ginnep, I hade to go miles into the nether region of the outside boros in Queens,NY just to get some the other day.
marshamallow root - also a great soothing tea for laxative troubles, along with fenugreek leaves.
amla is an amazing source of vitamin C - but its not very tasty in this form - many use the fruit and make a preserves out of it.
irish moss-- some people use it as an appetite suppressant since it swells and takes up space.. its like an alternate fiber supplement with added vitamins. Carrageenan is a thickener used in many baked and dairy products derived from irish moss. i use all 3. Cool vid
@okorolina think I am gonna need some of that marshmallow root in a tea because my stomach is hating that turkey and swiss cheese baguette i had today! Thanks for bringing this stuff to my attention, I mentioned about the bulking agent of irish moss and carrageenan in foods but i decided i wouldn't put it in the final cut. Funny enough, by the way it smells, I didn't think it Amal would taste nice! Thank you for watching.
@vanie0295 thanks Vanie :) You have been gone a while but I see you have a new vid up so will be checking it out. I kno you said you were gonna be busy and I hope the workload is settling down for you. The link to my hairstyle is in the description box now :)
Very informative. I too caution people to do their own product research before utilizing any products...lol, since I am NOT an expert. I buy several herbs, but had not thought about any of the powders...hhhmmmm, this is a new favorite vid!
I use amla and henna currently for my hair; I have given a small amount of amla to a friend to assist her with an adult acne/breakout...I hope it is helpful to her! :-)
@tressfreecre8tions Thats great! I am surprised how many ppl have found the info here useful but if we can seek out these ingredients and try them out, we might find we don't need to buy that miracle product after all. Today I bought some more marshmallow root powder and some cassia. Now apparently the cassia conditioning is the truth lol I read somewhere that it is great for boosting the colour of previous henna treatments too, have you heard of it? yes I hope your friend finds amla useful too
great informative video! lol at the sulphur bit :) i like marshmallow for the slip too, but i got too lazy and i no longer do mixes or add stuff to my ready made products, but you make me want to try again.
@curlycharlybrown thank you! Gad you found the video informative too. The plant was actually a gift but I have one in my bedroom that I bought from a plant shop somewhere in London, I can't remember now
Thankyou so much my darling. Really appreciate that. Will give them a call tomorrow.
