@Lovre88 ret's still diescent but by far is not the best. im still pulling bout 18k dps in ret but thats like 366 ilvl :\ you would expect more. in prot im pulling maybe 10k with bout a 363 ilvl. my warrior on the other hand got all valor gear, relic of khaz (fl trash trink) but some other junk and im pulling bout 22k or so in fury (TG cant stand SMF)

I forgot how Paladins roll where before TBC, at that time I wasn't an active player. I know my DPS wasn't great, but I remember that I did resist a lot. How where they as tank and healers in raids? I never got the chance to get in to a seriously raiding at lvl 60 in pre-tbc.

I share the burden of that recent past, we paladins just got better after getting improved exorcism as an "instant" spell and to not just damaging undead&demons, but everything else, too.

Well, pallies can still heal on emergencies, just not too much... I mean, throwing a Lay on Hands on a tank when the healer's too busy can often save a raid.

Atcually the tru hybrid is the shaman, with the largest mana pool as enhancement, and the ability to wear mail, and throw group heals through melee with a maelstrom proc makes it the ultimate hybrid. A druid as feral or even as a moonkin must come out of form to heal and even so the spell power in any form but tree form is miniscule compared to an enhancement shaman. Also the ability to throw down a healing stream totem and a spell power totem makes them more versatile.

This may have been true prior to 2.0, but since then druids and paladins have taken up the mantle of the "true" hybrid classes.

A hybrid class must be able to fill any role in a raid. Shaman haven't been able to tank anything since UBRS. Even though they can take a hit or two cuz they can wear mail and carry a shield they still can't be called upon to, realistically, tank (regardless of spec).

Only druids and paladins can truly call themselves "hybrid" classes in today's WoW.

The paladin class of wrath is nothing like vanilla paladins.

When you say low dps now, it means rets are 5% behind some of the pure dpsers. Back then it meant you were 50 to 100% behind.

Prots are actual tanks now, Holy is a real healer and not a buff spammer.

Vanilla paladins were designed to be a healer with lots of buffs in endgame. That's in blue text, they know they screwed up. It's much more fun now.

they moved on from vanilla wow yes, but paladins will allways lack in dps, they are the only "real" hybrid class, while druids can do all 3 roles aswell they need to change forms and gear, shamans can heal and dps but wear lighter armor and need to set up the apropriate totems, paladins dps heal and wear plate at the same time without changing stance changing gear or anything, plus they have some very powerfull defensive utility and buffs, so basicly they will allways be gimped :(

Druids are actually the true hybrid and the only quad hybrid. They can melee dps, ranged dps, heal, or tank. They have to change spec and gear to do each to the best of their ability, but a tank druid can switch to cat form and be about 2/3rds or more of a real cat dps, and conversely as well.

And paladins most certainly have to change gear. If you bring a ret paladin in ret gear to heal, you could instead bring a mage with bandages. You know, cause blink offers good healer mobility...lol
