Chuck McCann starred as the deaf mute. He had kids show on NY TV in the 60s. Great comic. In this movie he should have got an Academy Award.

i like to Dave Grusin romantic movie magic. he is the original composer and understand the soul and heart of his own piece, this youtube version is more propular in asia. it is good but look up Dave Grusin own rendition.

It brings back my memory of the the film " The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter" (1968) .

It based on the novel of the same name. It's one of the best, but little known movies . It tells about the loneliness of a deaf and mute good-hearted man.

Some people said the film could not captured the brilliance of the book.

I've not read yet. But I love this movie, it moved & touched my heart.

Alan Arkin's performance was beautiful too.
