@tKslVguyen That's an amazing overclocking feat. My CPU spazzes out if I go past 2.4 or .5. My GPU can't be clocked that high at it's current voltage. Did you overvolt it per chance?
@AndrewCP2k8 What I did was get my CPU to 2.6ghz using SetFSB w/ Orthos running to push CPU to 100%. After that I went to "Undervolt" my CPU from 1.250v -> 1.125v. This G51vx never runs hot like it used to anymore, I know our laptops can cook eggs on the side (literally). But now when I'm playing BF3 I max at 68C' so far (used to be 80C').
@tKslVguyen I will give that a go for my CPU. How about the GPU? Have you done any overvolting to it or did you just change it from the stock clocks to what you have now? I've tried a little under your clocks and my video card does not run stable.
@AndrewCP2k8 GPU I was thinking of doing the Undervolting but I'm worried about the BIOS failure. That would cripple my video card and I don't think its worth it. So I'm happy with just overclocking the core/mem/shader
Try the following:
Default: 500/799/1250
10% Up: Multiply by 1.1 (500 x 1.1 = 550mhz; 800 x 1.1 = 880mhz etc..)
20% Up: Multiply by 1.2 (500 x 1.2 = 600mhz etc...)
So you get the idea of how to keep things balanced. The limit is when Memory @ 1000mhz. Don't go that high!
@tKslVguyen Ah all right, undervolting will render your card very unstable but I was wondering if you ever overvolted it from stock because I can't go as high on stock voltages. Guess I got a bum video card lol
@tKslVguyen I got the asus G51vx. gets really hot when running games..(i am gonna do what you do, unscrew the bottom panel) . i know its an old laptop right now, and it lags when playing DVD too.
just wondering how you overclock the laptop..CPU and GPU.
what software do you use? please use simple English, i am an asian. Thanks for any replies.
@UnknownCode It's in the vid, 1366x768. Textures and effects on high, shadows low, ambient occlusion and motion blur is off (so is vsync). Everything else on medium. Game still doesn't look bad on lower settings. Overclocking a bit won't do you harm provided your temperatures are indeed fine. Heat is what kills these components.
@noobynico My GTX is overclocked to 570/900/1425 and I did the copper and drill mod. Not to mention I use a cooler with that combination so the GPU will never reach 108 or even rarely go over 100. The card may be downclocking temporarily so the card does not reach the user set critical temperature (108c by default). If your temperatures are indeed fine I would suspect something else is the problem so let me know if that appears to be the case or not.
@noobynico That's very odd. Have you set the performance level in your nvidia settings to perform maximum performance and set the display to single monitor performance mode (rather than the multiple by default)? Also what driver version is it?
I also have one and I run CPU 2.7ghz, GPU 650/950/1625 and I can keep a steady 85C.
I unscrew the bottom panel and use my laptop ontop of my Cooler =)
End results is playable 30's FPS nothing crazy even on Auto Settings with only Texture at High and everything else LOW.
Hope this helps RX05 owners =)

i have one as well,
p7350 @ 2.4ghz
and gtx260m @ 600/900/1350
and it runs at like 12 fps on lowest settings (lowest resolution as well)...
could there be a problem?

@AndrewCP2k8 i checked my temps ingame, and they were only about 74c-78c. not to mention my room temperature was around 14c.
Other games work fine on max settings other than this
