From a relative who lives in Florida who saw this video: I can't believe all the people standing there with the gators. In Florida, gators that aggressive around people are immediately killed. Once they lose their fear of people, they become "nuisance" gators. and many times, its people's fault - not supposed to feed them, but people do to "be nice" and the next thing you know the gator has to be killed. The cat in the video was incredible - but the people stupid!

That cat is capable of running FAR faster than that alligator and even if partially declawed is capable of getting up a tree (something an alligator is incapable of) Cats are also very intelligent, so once again, if that cat felt threatened enough it would have bolted. That cat felt that it was defending it's family from harm.
I am very upset to see the owners putting their cats' in harms way! I see this as animal endangerment & neglect, I hope that the local animal control will see this video, and take these cats' away, and place them in a loving home with people who will keep them safe. Uh...the secret to this video is that (1) the gator wasn't hungry, (2) the gator was on land urgo less aggressive, and (3) most likely those gators were domesticated (meaning raised in captivity) thus the resultant non-aggressive behavior of the gator.

It's an alligator farm and it seems that this playfight could be a tourist attraction since a guy in the background is calling the placid, non-hungry farm-reared alligators to the bank. Still very amusing though.

Uh...the secret to this video is that (1) the gator wasn't hungry, (2) the gator was on land urgo less aggressive, and (3) most likely those gators were domesticated (meaning raised in captivity) thus the resultant non-aggressive behavior of the gator.

I dont want to throw cold water on this video, but it was incredibly STUPID for this guy and his family to have been allowing this to happen. Would it have been funny if the alligator grabbed that cat and ripped it to pieces in front of the children? Lets face it. That is why he was recording this in the first place. He knew the odds were that the cat was going to get eaten, but this happened instead. And what if the cat got eaten? He would have sued the park for this to happen to his kids
