Does anyone know the name of the song the 16 year old sings? The one when she's talking about how she's never been in love but when she sings the songs she imagines what it must feel like...or something like that. The Girls are wonderful but they wetre not the first all women mariachi. Mariachi Estrella was founded in Topeka Kansas in the early 1980's. Ufortunately half of the group was killed in the Kansas City Hyatt Sky walk disaster. A monument to them and their acomplishments is in front of the Topeka Performing Arts Center.

I got the DVD on this documentary and these young women worked so hard to make their music a reality. I admire them greatly for it. Being Hispanic myself, their music had me in tears. It's sad indeed to find out that got paid half what male mariachis earned yet they played just as well-even better. If I was rich. I take them to europe to play complete with orchestra.

I'm familiar with some of the girls in this group and a couple of them are involved in romantic relationships with one another, which isnt an uncommon occurrence in a tight knit all female environment. I wonder why the director of the film didnt explore that aspect of their relationships, perhaps they werent open about it.

This comment of Mariachi Mujer 2000 is sad. I usually never ever write comments on youtube but this really needs my response. In the first place Reyna de Los angeles is the first group that has ever gotten the respect of the top male mariachis in the history of the music.

excellent programming, but shame on the documentors that they didn't check their facts.

This is not the "first" all-female mariachi group in the U.S.

And, these women DID have role models, including myself, as I was their first director and taught mariachi music to many of them.

I applaud the women in the group, having been through 'the struggle.' All worth it for the love and performance as a professional mariachi.

For this person to say that she taught Reynas is funny. The one and only musical director they have had is Me' Jose Hernandez. Now I never make comments on youtube but when I see that someone is making comments like this really gets under my skin. Wow I can't beleive that mujer 2000 wouldnt be happy for these beautiful young women who have given there life for Mariachi music and have inspired other women to form all female mariachi groups all over the USA .
