look a friend of mine took apart his wifi card and were the atenna is on the wifi he solderer a cable cored to it and he said it gave him a 100% boost
My fucking wii is pissing me off. I've had it in the same place for months and got a good signal the whole time. All of a sudden it's not connecting and theres an open linksys thats green(good connection) and I still cant connect to it. I'm gonna try this hopefully it works. Anyone with ideas on how to boost my wifi wii connect please comment back. Thank you.
I had that happen to me a few time but if you keep getting an error message (On vista) go to the wifi window and right click... on the list go to diagnose & repair and that should do it. Sometimes you would just have to restart your computer and the settings will return. I hope this helps.
I used this technique, made an aluminium square shaped cardboard base and cupped it all round the antenna facing toward my room coz my PS3 signal is crap
I've tried the parabolic reflector, the soda can, the windsurfer reflector, and this. Out of all 4, this one worked best, and was so simple. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you're looking to boost a weak signal by 1 or two bars. And hey, it only takes like 3-5 minutes to do. Cheap, too ^.^
It's hard to grab the hotspot for use wifi. what's the problem?? I never used the wifi at all since I've gotten. Should i pay the wifi router?? Bluetooth seems nice. Is bluetooth better than wifi??whatelse. cowon has the bluetooth i wonder should i take cowon? Or yp-p3 is also offered bluetooth. anyone use bluetooth on yp-p3??
bah! All you need is a mobile and an ethernet cable.
lol, couldn't resist.
But seriously, i tried to make one of these a few months back... failed horribly due to running out of foil, couldn't be bothered getting more and went on holiday, forgot all about it till now.
Is not that complicated , this experiment was small scale if U rely want bOOst Ur WI-FI range buy a big dish (1m) and put the adapter like he put-it and Ul hav a range bigger than 2 Km.

I should have done this with my PSP in Italy so I wouldn't need to pay for the wifi and I could properly connect to the free one.

Could we not do this to the router?
lukechris1995 3 years ago
why not use a metal dish instead of aluminium foil because it is smoother an better?
khidhal 3 years ago
An old pringles tin works really well, but you have to point it at the router.

This is very interesting! But where were all the routers in the 1st place?

simmonds06 3 years ago
Wouldn't the signal be even better if the tin-foil was smooth?
thepudd 3 years ago
i think it would be better scrumpled or wrinkly because maybe the signal bounces out in different directions? but i aint to sure
xirionz 3 years ago
Yes and No.
Yes for outgoing, no for incoming.
Getting a good enough mix is awkward.
I guess you could try split the foil up into 45 degree sections of the full 360.
Then go around it, one smooth, one wrinkly, one smooth, one wrinkly, etc.
Should look like the Umbrella logo really.
