im mandee and ive been with JRP for a couple months now and the main thing that they taught me to do in an auditon is to act like the casting director, agent, etc. is one of your best friends. dont act like there some big thing because then you will get nervous and most likley mess up. just have fun with it....:) and dont forget to smile

Err, I have an audition his Saturday (My first one), and I am royally screwed. Shouldn't you be allowed to talk when you're meeting the people? At least say "Hi" or something? Or do you really walk in there like mindless robots?

If you're shy then it WILL affect you, you need to be out there.

Once you get over the barrier of 'embarrassing yourself' then you'll be a million times better, heck last role I played was a woman xD (panto in case your wondering, Widow Twankey from Aladdin)

Don't beat yourself up about it, try and stop being shy, and that DOESNT mean that you do something crazy like go to school dressed as Lady Gaga ;)

You need to first have an agent. There the ones who find you auditions

You don't necessarily have to have an agent. If you're interested in pursuing a career in Acting getting an agent can be difficult if you are new to the business or inexperienced.  There are sites on the internet such as StarNow which enable you to create a profile and act as your own agent. I've been in an advert, a TV pilot and I have two auditions next month for short films. All without the help of an agent.

my friend went to an audition right, and her casting person didnt let her sit down he got straight to the point lol she said he tried to get every ounce of acting skill into the scene he picked for her to play, even if she didnt know that part of the script (but he did ask what role she was going for first before picking the part for her)
