The rarest type of all would be the ANY type seeing as how no one has yet to successfully show that any of them are real and usually base their 'science' mainly off of others' testimony or filmed blurry objects.
In fact filming anything not blurry is detrimental to the study of the paranormal since intelligent people will step in and just tell you what it is you filmed.
Yes, not all ghost stories you hear are real, of course. For example, if you've heard of the famous (or infamous) Spring Heeled Jack, he is NOT a ghost. He was a man, a clever man, and more than one many has used those trademark spring heels (it is actually believed that there were springs in his heels).
His name (the first one) was Henry de La Poer Beresford, 3rd Marquess of Waterford, or, at least, he is the main suspect.
Yeah, ask someone if a story isn't just the same thing as history....good idea. Just because something is written down or painted doesn't make it true history. Historians demand the same type of evidence as any other type of science, even though people think science and history are separate things, when they actually are the same in method. So no,ghost stories are not the same as history in the slightest. I can't even believe he would suggest people use such a weak argument.
on your coment is it scary to see a ghost well yes and no if your looking for it yes becouse you are expecting fear but most peaple when you see one didnt know that it was a ghost i know i didnt ithought it was a young woman just walking past it wasent untill i whent to look that there was nobody there and i knew whot i had seen so i hope that helps thanks
A ghost story is the same thing as a historical account of events? No dude. That logic would make Harry Potter completely real.

nah, not when you're looking for them.
To an Investigator, the phrase "You look like you've just seen a ghost" means a big shit-eating grin from ear to ear
