sluggish on take off from no boost, too much lag at the start, if it pre winded the turbos it would be at least running 7.4s if not faster, and on pump gas 93 octane it would not make the power, having such an amount of power with that shit in it is no good, i think get a pre boost for the turbos and run methanol, take some weight off and your looking at the 6s no worries. obviously running methanol its a colder burning fuel, so it holds more air, the more air, the more power!

i have a "mopar action" magazine with an article on this car , its actually quite impressive besides the times it gets on pump gas , the motor hasnt needed any valve or head work whatsoever or any other major things for a year and a half just oil changes and filter replacments. No major maintenance on a car like that is pretty badass.

No Supra on the planet has or ever will run even 8s on pump gas let alone 7s. Impossible regardless of how they do it. it would take too much boost creating far too much heat to ever run close to that on 93 octane.

Your comment was irrelevent. My statement remains a fact even at this point in time. Making power on 93 octane is not in the same world as making similar power on 117+ octane leaded fuel. Auto or manual has nothing to do with running 7s with a vehicle that can pull out of a Mobil, Shell or Hess station.

Ummm the law of demand come to mind? Toyota figured there was (and still is) a larger market for environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, affordable cars rather then high performance, high priced sports cars. Toyota made more money selling those cars in a few years than they did selling the Supra for 5 years in which only ~7,000 turbo models were produced in the lifespan of the Supra. They left that market all together and only until recently Lexus picked up where they left off with the IS-F

Are you kidding? When Garth Underground GTS ran the 7.98, it was a full weight car with NO other power adders besides the turbos. Even SW admited it was more of a race car then a street car. A Viper would kill that time if you took 350+ lbs of weight out of it. Even with a six speed this GTS would pistol whip the Supra with half the boost and less timing. And if you're such a Supra fanboy then you'd know SW went 7.91@185 already.

This is pump gas and SW's Supra that ran that 8.04 is ANYTHING but stock with a 91mm turbo. Also has weight reductions to it as well. Most of these Vipers are full weight cars still able to drive on street.

Lee's car is a full weight car with nothing taken out of it. SW's Supra only weighs 3100 lbs WITH driver. Plus Supra's have alot lower TQ then a Viper so they're less likely to break a trany as long as they dont pull too hard off the line.

mmm, do you have anymore excuses or smiley faces you can throw my way? the fact is that the "lil inline six" is running identical times to the big v10 twin turbo viper. it's pretty impressive that a car with roughly half the displacement and turbos can out trap and almost math the "mighty" viper in ET.

it's only a matter of time before the SW dips into the 7's with an impressive trap. i'm sure the viper boys will have a whole new slew of excuses to throw out when that happens ; - /

Impressive it is, very much so. But vipers are in a different league. Garth's viper still has BOSS surround sound, Cold A/C, leather seats, even sub woofer in the back and still runs 7's. SW's supra isn't fully stripped but is lightened. The only thing done to Lee's viper is the locked the rear suspension. There's no need to even bring Sal P's viper into this. FULL WEIGHT just like Garths on DR's running a 7.58@190, not even the record holding Titan supra would dare roll out against it.

Now this proves that all thses guy's say and using race gas for 105-115 octane need to go back and do some more tuning on there cars and start from scratch this includes all Viper's,Supra's,RX-7's,Vette,C­obra's and anything else using Race gas and are struggling to get into the 7's. Pump gas all the way and this it the New standard for 7'sec cars can you do it on Pump Gas 93octane $3.66 a gallon (Shell for me) IF NOT KICK ROCK'S
