I think the timing powder is Vitamin C, not sure of the rest of them, maybe guessing powdered iodine (dunno what the name is) , I think the iodine is mixed with the timing powder because he said to mix it up?

No, you can't drink it afterwards ;-)

It just reacts with the iodine, so it won't be hazardous to the environment any more.

To make this reaction happen, we use a bit of our Timing Mixture in one test tube, and some Trigger Powder in the other. We also provide Recycling Powder to trip it back to a colorless liquid!
