  • i love music!!

  • Love that slide guitar in the beginning. So southern rock.

  • AWESOME..this is driving from Chico to Aneheim in 1996..And I am Canadian

  • well done ;)

  • this song makes me want to insert the bass in to my chest by either a) inserting the speakers in to my breast cage or b) sitting on a large speaker.

  • So rough and abrasive. I can't help but be jealous to that guitar player.

  • amazing song.it reminds me of the jimi hendrix-voodoo child.i wonder if that song inspired them.

  • Incredible to think that the "experts" from the British music press slated this album when it was released.

It still stuns me into disbelief to this day.

  • Comment removed

  • @tonypap1 Doesn`t stun me. The British `press` and media do more harm than good. If you don`t read the papers you`re uninformed. If you do read them your Misinformed. This band aren`t as acclaimed as they should be. Seriously under estimated in terms of musical greatness.

  • This song, and fools gold... fuckin' good !

  • A classic!

  • this song... i just cant listen to the stone roses without grinning

  • Simply amazing tune MUFCOK

  • Squire's Playing is the FUCKIN GRAVY the best British guitarist since PAGE simple!!! B'out time Boys's!!! Got my tickets... bring it on!!! PS All you who didn't beleive for so so so long !!! Fuckin JOG ON!!!!

  • but don't leave town

  • Can't wait to see them live, i was at there last ever gig at Reading '96 wich sucked but the reunion is giong to rock for sure.

CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL FOR SILLY VIDEOS OF ME AND MY FRIENDS

  • This song made me love bass guitar.

  • @Collected23 I hear you. Ever since I heard this song back in the day, I have had a whole new respect for bass guitar. This guy might might be the greatest, especially towards the end of the song.

  • I was thinking of selling my roses tickets for manchester then thought AM I FUCK lol Legends ! Will bring a tear to my eye if squire does this - Epic guitar , whole song is perfect

  • The resurection = 29/06/12

  • THEY ARE BACK!!! It was like Christmas day when I watched the press conference. Holy shit.

They BETTER PLAY THIS SONG ON TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I might be in a small minority, but to me, this is the best song they ever did.

  • @braddyboy82 you are not a small minority. This song features some of the best guitar work of ALL TIME

  • @braddyboy82 worst song on the album yet still an absolute ripper. i wanna see these guys come to australia and play good times, tears and sugar spun sister. probably my 3 favourite stone roses songs

  • @braddyboy82

And they're planning on having a third studio album!

This would make it the first time since the original lineup has made an album since their debut self-titled album, "The Stone Roses". However, i'm not sure as of now if the "Second Coming" had the original members or not.

  • @aijunk2 the second coming was recorded by reni, mani, ian and john. the same members who recorded the debut. :)

  • CANT WAIT!!!!

  • THEY ARE GETTING BACK :D

  • BEST INTRO TO A SONG EVER FACT!!!!

  • Squire = genius

  • Please come back and are again the best band in England

  • Isn't this Voodoo chile

  • @cctom66 No, it's Love Spreads. And fuck you, also. :)

  • @cctom66 No, the name of the song is 'cctom66 is a cunt'. Happy to help.

  • @cctom66

The solo at the end of 'Breaking into Heaven' is much similar to voodoo chile if you want to wank over the thought of winding people up on another video.

  • I wish this song was like an hour long

  • Second Coming was absolutely panned when it came out. it's my favourite album from the 90s. The Stone Roses are my favourite band and always will be. i was born at the wrong time. John Squire, Ian Brown, Mani and Reni are gods without question.

  • This Record is the DOGS simple and Mr Squire is the most underrated Guitarist ever!!! AWSOME

  • @gazzac10 Your Right, John Squires is a Legend, so underated!....Driving South is up there at the top of my Favourite Rock songs list!.......And what he done with the Seahorses after was brilliant too, shame they only done it for one Album...:-(

  • NOT QUITE AS AN INSPERATIONAL ALBUM AS THE FIRST............BUT WHAT AN ALBUM IN ITS OWN RIGHTS TRULLY GODS SEND AND WISH THEY COULD HAVE GONE ON FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

  • so much debate but who cares when this amazing song is playing?

  • i Love this song xD

  • Play this from the roof tops LOUD

  • Once again, proof that the best music comes from England. Signed, a jealous Yank.

  • @stlbetty The very first American I've seen who admits it.

  • @JackBandicootsBunker Really? First one? With Zeppelin, Floyd, Kinks, Stones, Who, Beatles, Elvis Costello (course I think stlbetty meant the UK, which would add U2, Van Morrison, and the great Tom Jones!) Id think MANY Americans would admit its true. Im a NYer, and most everyone I know with taste in music knows its true. Then again, Im 45 and you and your crowd may be much younger, which might explain it.

  • @papaclanc The problem is they don't admit so. At least on YouTube. Said it because you were the first one to state that in a comment.

  • @papaclanc U2 doesn't count, they're Irish, Ireland isn't part of the UK.

  • @stlbetty built to spill,modest mouse,sonic youth,dinosaur jr. do i need to go on

  • This is crazy. Are you telling me there were bands that actually made rock and roll? I love the fact that there are only 178,000 views. Bieber can have the rest. This song kills. Check out "I Want to be Adored" as well.

  • Killer tune.

  • proper tune!

  • mark great you areeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Oasis, poor mans roses.

  • I've fallen in love with this song. :)

  • awesome song. awesome band.

  • This is an example on how to play guitar!

  • hey man, the guy who played in this band is my gf

  • @imperialturkey idiot

  • but doesnt it sound good tho?

  • just heard this today at work, not really into the band but this tune is awesome - gotta check the rest of the album lol

  • Great track.

  • amazing guitar riffs.. a shame this was the last album they made together.

  • didnt find the stone roses until 1999... but i bought this when it was first released. strange or what?

  • This was a great album. Not quite as legendary as the first, but better in terms of technical quality.

  • :))

    \m/

  • This is fanfuckingtastic.

  • Squire, put down your paintbrush, pick up your guitar and go and make up with Ian brown

  • best guitar hero song !!!

  • @monarizibo I played this song in guitar hero hundreds of time probably, guitar hero helped me discover music and drumming, great time great time

  • Put the volume up!!

  • Sounds like Jimmie Page on guitar

  • this is rock and roll...now go listen to "I Wanna Be Adored."

  • this is better than any song by oasis or blur. besides smack my bitch up, it's the best british song of the decade.

  • @fabiancarini1 Smack my bitch up is your idea of "best british song" of the 90s? My God.

  • @matrags

I'm a big fan of the 90's. I love grunge and punk but I have sort of a weakness for Robbie Williams and the Prodigy. think that Smack My Bitch Up is a masterpiece. what's your favourite British song of the 90's?

  • @fabiancarini1 Saturday night by Whigfield maybe? Or maybe not

  • @monkeytutz2

really? macarena by los del rio kills it

  • @monkeytutz2

oh oh oh the ketchup song in the english version suits you perfectly! give it a shot! i guarantee you won't be disappointed!!

    \m/

  • @fabiancarini1 Smack my bitch up isn't even the best Prodigy tune off Fat of the Land, Experience or Music for a jilted generation. That's why you sound rediculous making statements like you do. Each to their own, would you like some ketchup on your fries?

  • @monkeytutz2

can you read?! i said that IN MY OPINION smack my bitch up is a masterpiece because i happen to like the song very much. next time try not to be pathetic.

  • @fabiancarini1 Lets agree to disagree then.

  • @fabiancarini1 Some might say by Oasis

  • @donsuccone

    great song!

  • i dont have money, but what i do have is a very special set of skills that make me a nightmare for people that dislike this.

  • @MrPubua Only a nightmare? If people tell me they hate The Roses then I'm the fucking Devil!

  • Comment removed

  • In the beginning I thought this was Loser from...... I dont know

  • @DJjelleke Beck? :D

  • @dude33694 Yeah that guy xD

  • Amazing song

  • Close your eyes and listen to the guitar.......Jimmy Page like.

  • @longhair57 Its even better than that!

  • @okinowa1945 Can you remember any words? sort of what the song was about---? Just a little bit more info, & seriously-I'll probably know it---Have you got anymore 'clues'other than CSI? I hopeso, I love a challenge--we'll get this cracked ----if you've got more info :)))

  • @SHErocks1929

    It was this tune...

  • @SHErocks1929 I believe it was this track he heard, I remember this played when they were wrecking a car apart looking for evidence.

  • another class tune from a classic group.....

  • 15 people dislike this? So, let me get this straight, 15 people are trying to crack the same joke???

What an amazing tune. One of the first bands we all got in to at a very early age.

  • @MrModernAlarms We, as in Modern Alarms, that is.

  • I introduced my cousin to this, I love Oasis, Blur and the the Arctic Monkeys but without the stone roses none of the aforementioned bands would exist.

  • B ber IS AWESOME

  • @halosux4life Get the FUCK off a stones page

  • @HatersGonnaHate1000 calm down bud

    just be trollin

  • Finaly something my ears can coprehend as music....

  • this is the most unerrated album in the whole music history...i love Stone Roses and this incredible, awesome, great, fantastic album...

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say The Doors

You say Owl City, I say Led Zeppelin

You say Jonas Brothers, I say Pink Floyd

You say Justin Bieber, I say Rush

You say Taylor Swift, I say Nirvana

You say Hannah Montana, I fking punch you in your face

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die.

  • could you opload the instrumental version of this song ? ^^

  • 15 people are mincers! how can you dislike this?

  • One thing I have always wondered. Has Jimmy Page heard this before? I betcha he would be quite pleased.

  • The press hated the roses because they were part of a movement. A generation hellbent on getting off there tits and having a good time.....I surprisingly remember it well :)

  • @spiralisedcat

Yeah, happy days mate, You are certainly not on your own.

  • @spiralisedcat so true pal,great times,great music. BLISS

  • This was their best track, superb.

  • This song marks the exact point (to the minute) that I lost my faith in humanity. I'd waited 4 years for these seminal heroes to return and make music special again, and then it only got to No.2 in the charts, outsold by .... 'Saturday Night' by Whigfield. I realised then that the majority of the public were clueless cunts.

  • Thanks for voting me up!!!! Love Spreads fucking rules!!! Keep on voting me up!!!

  • Here in Italy nobody knows The Stone Roses... should I say something more about how shitty is music industry here?

Totally love this song & The Stone Roses!!

  • im 14 an i herd it last year wen i was in ma dads car dude if you have bose 5.1 surround sound it kicks-ass even more

    Stone Roses Legends

  • John needs to put his brushes down for a bit. Still one of the best at licks. Does me every time.

  • still a dirtty choon. John needs to forget his brushes coz guitar is his thing. Gobsmakking.

  • bought the single cos it was 75pence-whsmith-stone floweres who!--it led me into the best musical experience i had known!! 2nd coming-still the best album i have ever heard(big claim but personally the hairs on my neck still stand when i hear it!!)if your never coming back then thnx for the ride!!

  • Fuckin rocks

  • I love the bluesy leads with the heavy gainy tone. Awesome slide in the beginning. Bass kills drums kills and the lyrics are just awesome.

  • its our time fuck the state

  • Second Coming has to be the most criminally underated album ever recorded...

  • @scappleby Media hype caused its untimely demise.

  • Love spreads her arms, waits there for the nails. Surely the best lyric in rock'n'roll ever? Backed up by possibly the best intro ever. When a band is this good all they can ever do is burn out.

  • Drumming on this track is some of the best I've ever heard.

  • Awesome song!.....my favorite lyric "Im hiding in the trees with a picnic"---class!

  • @megamollie9 Sorry to burst your bubble, but its 'Pigmy'.

  • @balthazaa2001 No need to apologise,I never had a bubble to start with..by the way thanks for putting me right but I think I prefer picnic.

  • Comment removed

  • @braddyboy82 Agreed.

The music press, particularly the NME we full of their own self importance.

We lost a lot of good shit to critical vanity.

  • Why did the press hate this album? It's awesome, and in my opinion, better than their debut.

  • @stefk123 What did the press ever know anyway?

  • @stefk123 The press did'nt hate this album, they hated the Stone Roses because they would'nt suck corporate cock and jump through media hoops. They gave their first post Second Coming interview to 'The Big Issue' homeless magazine, and told all the other journo's to buy it off them. The Media killed the album out of spite.

  • @balthazaa2001 Pretty much, not that the NME deserved it anyway considering they gave the first album what 7/10?

  • is there like another one of their songs that are like this?

  • @Hendrix1820 Try Driving South.... Not as good, but close.

  • @cdwoollard yeah i downloaded this whole album a week ago, its fucking madd, better then their first.

  • @Hendrix1820 Yeah, the second is better than the first IMO. I love Daybreak.

    Nice username btw :)

  • @stefk123 lol thanks

  • @Hendrix1820 buy the album man. the group hasnt recieved a cent from either one. they live in rags,

  • @mewert i have looked for it in shops, all i can find is their first.

  • Listening Directions:

    1) add crushed "Black Betty" song

    2) add one pinch "Slash (GnR)"

    3) shake well and play

for smoother taste: stir in mixture of turpentine and mushrooms

  • @haught1979

Full of shit mate. Slash has nothing on this and Black Betty is COMPLETELY unrelated to this.

Whatever you are smoking must be some pretty strong stuff.

  • @figaz555 smoking caps MUTHAFUKA!

  • @haught1979 and a jimmy page lick whole lotta love

  • love it !

  • what a sick song, EVERYBODY should have this in rock band 2

  • @adman63 The reason why I like this song. An awesome song and it's hella fun on drums.

  • amazing slider at beggining... dirty rock elegantlly costumed by Mr. Ian Brown and gentlemen!.. HELL YEAH!!!

  • JESUS THIS IS ROCK N ROLL , STONE ROSES PURE ROCK

  • Should definitely have remained a band, could have been a full page in rock n rolls history books rather than just a paragraph.

Ten Story Love Song also a great track from the same album.

  • I love the Voodoo Child and Led Zeppelin mix-ins to the riff.

  • The first time I heard this song, I repeated the intro about 15 times :D

  • I was living in Newport, Wales at the time and the pic on the cover is of a little angel that could be found on the city's bridges. All of them were stolen within a week of the single's release and the council had to go back to the original moulds to make more but they weren't as good. Everywhere you would go, this record was playing and LOUD. Still sends shivers down my spine. An amazing Number One.

  • @jimixsx Only got to number 2 mate.

  • Their debut album blew my mind

  • Just gorgeous...........sexy as fuck

  • This song is sooo sick! That guitar riff! Ouch, to write a song like that must feel so fucking great! I wish, I wish I could write songs like that. And the lyrics blow my mind. I got this on a cd and I've been playing it in max volume, making my neighbours crazy. Yeah, she's my sister! Rock On! Stone Roses forever!

  • Yet another song that my uncle ruined my mind with. If I could ever stop playing this thing then I could get some rest!

  • LOVE IT

  • drop d genius by squire

  • I fuckin love the 90's!!!!

  • Love the roses, they inspired me to write A LOT of songs. Listen to them everytime we're on the road. Them and T.Rex are the only bands that everyone agree's on listening to together when giggging. Great times. One of the greatest bands ever and John Squire was a fantastic player.

  • i dont think there is 1 stone roses song i am not in love with

  • ZZ Top with a Mancunian accent!

  • This song is a fucking masterstroke.

  • This song still hasn't received 100,000 views yet.

    WTF!!!!

It's a travesty, an effing travesty I tell you!!!

  • I don't know why this wasn't a bigger hit in America. This song on headphones is pure bliss!

  • NADA MAS QUE PUROS RECUERDOS

  • awespme rock tune!

  • seems like ian brown has been listening to a lot of led zep

  • It was John Squire that was listening to Led Zep, he produced and wrote most/all of the Second Coming.
