when turned all the way the power steering pump will be over loading....btw u have a leak in the power steering hose its under neath your air filter its a big rubber hose about a foot long, mine leaked too but just go get an after market and it wont fix the noise but it will help steering
nothing is wrong...all ford trucks do that its the power steering working...just dont turn it all the way if u dont like the noise..ive gotten used to mine.

Ford f150's of this generation are notorious for loud powerstearing pumps. The pumps on both my 1992 four wheel drive and my 1993 flareside are in good shape and you can hear them when you walk around the front of the truck. Plus on the lightning you are turning 17" wheels and wide tires. Nice truck by the way.
it's you're power steering pump the 92-96 f150's are notorious for that I just replaced mine at o'reilly's it was $62.99 plus a $30.00 core, but check it first to see if the hoses are standard or metric if they're standard its $3 cheaper
if you mean the sound when you move the steering wheel then its probably low on powersteering fluid check the power steering fluid if not maybe you power steering pump might be getting messed up.
thats power steering alright

POWER STEERING PUMP!!!
COBRASTANG302 2 years ago
Power steering pump is shot or it is out of fluid. check fluid levels or check for leaks. it could also be the tensioner wheel for the belt.
mustang4281 2 years ago
power steering pump oil level, purge the oil, PS DAMAGE,
PUT the ps and pressure hose of the crown victoria 1990 is more efficient and less noisy, and power steering fluid and ready
for 1 / 4 mile

The fluid wont leak unless theres a problem with the pump, or theres a leaky seal, which you would knotice
