i do have a question though. if it seems so real and its actually a delusion to you. why would you want to accept the reality if the make believe world is so much better? is it just because you want truth as devistating as it may be? are you happier now that you feel youve found truth? i mean happier not satisfied...(for ashmagnus)
I like your perspective on things. Part of Christianity is based on fear of death, and I think the unconditional love part evolved as a necessary way for the religion to survive as people gained more knowledge and the original fear lost it's power (the Old Testament God definitely wasn't about love!) I've gotten involved with a community of humanists because I need that connection that Christianity once provided. People aren't meant to be alone.
There is a moral ethical alternative to christianity. Its called Humanism. It has a place for that heart that you have. Please Google and look into it.
Thanks for posting your views. I've never been a Christian, so it's important for me to understand what it's like. Your description of making up god in your head and talking to him sounds similar to the concept of the 'inner child' or other inner concept that allows you to get in touch with emotions and feelings. If you want to get this god back, maybe you'll want to check out some literature on self-therapy. Not sure if it's the same, but it might be.
