It's easy to get kfc ,mcdonalds, etc.Unfortunately much harder to find any local food. impossible in the airport for instance. One of the reasons that Dubai has no soul. If i wanted to eat western crap food i could do that at home. None of this bothers the ex-pats who are mostly idiots who don't care that the economy is based on slavery.

Dubai is, IMHO, catering to the wealthy. Like Monaco, it is fairly exclusive but unlike Monaco there are no charming, affordable coastal towns in neighboring countries like Monaco has with France or Italy. However it is worth a visit to the UAE to better understand the Middle East. even if you stay just a short time (I was there for 24-hours and still had time to shoot this video).

I don't feel that the $1200 the trip cost was a waste. PS - I'm not connected to Dubai Tourism.

Dubai is a fine city and not just for the rich. There are of course some poor people there, but can you name a city that doesn't have some poverty?
