@Legionaryb But that's neither here nor there. War in itsself, like General Sherman said, is Hell. The battlefield is not a playground like plenty of video games make it out to be. It is gruesome and bloody. I can't speak from personal experience, but the thought of moving out into a field where explosions reign supreme, bullets are shot trying to hit you, and anyone could be your worst enemy (considering double agents) doesn't sound like a vacation to me.

The dead should be mourned and honored, but at the same time, nations should expect people to die if they're going to war in a first place. @JonisThatIsMe Finland was a part of the conflict known as WWII. The Winter War, the Continuation war and the Lapland war were all parts of WWII.

Yes, there were swedish volunteers. They were scarce though. Most of the bands in Finland that spoke swedish were finnswedes, who necessarily don't have any ties to Sweden except for the language.

The basis of the finnish air force was made by a swedish noble before the war. We are bound to Sweden. They could have done so much more though.
