  • I broke my leg in January 2011, compound fractured my tibia and fibula, shattered the tibia and had to get surgery. Now I have a 7 inch plate and 14 screws in my leg. But gets better and better over time!

  • I get by a little bit better every day. I have a shower cover for my cast which works pretty well even though my cast comes up pretty high. But still, it is still a pain in the butt to get around in. My friends take me out in a wheelchair which lets me go to the mall. I'll keep using it as long as I have my long cast on.

    Take care!

  • @Luv2ski1967 Are you planning more videos or just going to hide it out now? :-)

  • I hope you're doing okay. It's a nice cast if that's any consolation. *Hugs*

  • @SianneKirsty Thanks for writing, that was so nice of you! I'm doing ok these days, and my leg doesn't hurt as much as it did when I first broke it. My leg cast is driving me crazy and the doctor told me it probably needs to be on for at least 8 weeks. My friends signed my cast and that makes me feel good too.

    Thanks again!

  • @Luv2ski1967 Hey, thanks for writing back. I'm glad it's getting better - if only slowly! Eight weeks is a long time, I feel for you. I imagine daily tasks are just awful, are you managing to shower or are you just sticking to sponge-baths? Excuse my curiosity, but you know how it is. It's nice that all of your friends signed it up for you, I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of signing a cast. I'd be stuck on what to write anyway, would want a nice message if it was to be there for 8wks!
