Ugh, that commute blows. Move to the Peninsula. The roll up 280 is much, much nicer than I80. Don't have to deal with those cross winds on the Bay Bridge, either.
Being between cars is actually pretty safe.. relative to approaching a gap where there's only a car on one side that might suddenly dart in and cut you off. You'll often see me slow down right before the gap, then zip forward with a squirt of speed, whereas I barely slow down if traffic is obligingly lined up in pairs.
Funny how it looks scarier when someone else is doing it. :) Next video, see if you can mount the camera higher and a clear windshield would also help make it easier to see what was going on. I actually miss this commute in strange ways...

Always seems like those prius owners tend to be jerks, like they're the only ones that should use the carpool lane and no one should pass them.

I don't understand that there are so few other people commuting on bikes in California.
The weather is so nice, comparable to southern Europe where there are so many bikes.
