if they're on me.........GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT
These things are gross! Use a good soap, your pharmacist knows or contact me and I'll tell you where you can get it. It's around $8 and up, I've seen the test under a microscope of these things on someones face before and after washing with the soap they were gone!
this a member of the spider family it usually live on the tip of your eyelashes. its completly harmless and normal! to look for them take a handful of your eyelashes dunk them in warm water. they'll start swimming out!
No, they're not "completly (sic) harmless and normal". They are associated with various forms of skin conditions, and they are a siginficant contributing factor to so called male-pattern baldness as well as thinning of the hair in both sexes. And ongoing research continues to uncover more health issues caused by these unwelcome parasites.
What is perhaps most interesting about these creatures, is that although it has a digestive system and eats lots of our dead skin and sebum secretions, it's digestion is apparently so efficient that it digests and utilizes pretty much everything it takes in, and lacks an anus. This mite is the only (or one of the very few) animal in the world that doesn't defecate.
arg! after reading about this mite in searchlites on health i thought it was some early 20th century mumbo jumbo terrified to see that they are real!!! i wont sleep tonight so thanks :(
Well chances are you have them, somewhere on you... with a host of other things. It's just how it is. You'll never see them, or feel them... so move on.
And remember... the most beautiful person you can imagine has them too.
I used to look at these little buggers at work! We used to have microfilm viewers. So, I would squeeze a very small blackhead on my face (usually near the nose) and wipe it on the glass where we view the microfilm. Sure enough, I saw demodex -very detailed too! I drew a picture of it and showed it to a dermatologist. He verified that it was demodex folliculorum. He said I could get rid of them using a dark blue soap (can't remember the name) I got at the drug store. Gregg in Sarasota FL
those mites~!! how nice are they to help us!!!! symbiotic relationship because we help each other!!! yeah....no wonder why i feel them moving on my skin a scalp!!!
I dont think they are helping us, they are just eating our skin, hormones, and sebum and living off of us.
If their was some bug or mite that took food from my body but in return gave me some super immune fluid into my blood then that's a good helpful symbiotic relationship, not just eating my skin
I dont want them eating my dead cells, you know how hard it was to make them?
No, you can't feel them. Also, they aren't on your scalp, they live on the hairs on your face, where the sebum and hormones are. I.e. eyelashes, eyebrows, sometimes even nose hairs. And they hang out wayyy down near the follicles. Usually, embedding themselves in the root. If they get too far down, your body removes them but if your immune system sucks, it can cause roseacia. They also cause mange in weak animals. They are parasites. They do nothing to help us, they only help themselves.
I used to eat this without knowing that that was an animal. Since I am vegeterian, I will have to eat it, unfortunately

if you pulled out all your eyelashes would there be no more eyelash mites? since without any eyelashes the mites wont have anything to fed off.
Iamtheman4u2 10 months ago
@Iamtheman4u2 They eat dead skin not eye lashes. So I suggest you hang on to your eyelashes and forgo the trouble of having to pull them out.

But they come out at night to the surface of the skin to mate, and then go down to lay eggs.
And yes, you CAN feel them TWRLING. Belive me. But when they are near the surface.
