  • i thought that was a cat

  • YAY! THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA! MY DOG NAMED HYENA WILL LOVE IT!

  • ooohh shit my siberain husky eat the toy ...

  • @tirlangaa haha mine ate it too.

  • I made 1 and hung it to a tree with string my dog loves it!!!

  • @owzzer9 That's such a cool idea!

  • Awesome!!! I disagree with some of the description tho. Sometimes it's worth it to get a kong bcuz they keep ur dog busy 4 a while and you can leave dem home alone with access to a kong and it's not dangerous so I wud get a kong and also make 1 or 2 of dese! U always have great ideas Emily keep it up :)

  • Boring, come on! dogs are smarter than this! Lets get more inventive.

  • that was very helpful

  • my dog doesn't really interact with it! i've shown her that food comes out, but she just kind of sniffs it. I'm just using her regular dog food, maybe i should use something more rewarding??

  • you got a beautiful dog.

    im jelious

  • You can use a lighter to, to make the holes! No rough edges anymore!

  • wow this is cool toy. Wow never thought of something like this.

  • omg! love dogs! thats awsome!!!

  • Brilliant idea!

Me and my wife will try it out with our dog.

  • @navyboydjray huh! tell me if ur dog likes it :P!!!

  • plastic bottles are good, because they roll nicely

  • Thanks for the tutorial! Sparky loved it :) when ever he would get it stuck in a corner, he would pick it up and start kicking it around again! :) thanks!

    ~Sparky and Hannah :3

  • WIGZI DOG TOYS are FDA approved material and have treat pockets..so if they do eat it ...it won't make them sick or worse.

  • Amazing idea, I am going to make one right now. Was going to spend $20 on a toy just like this, but why spend the extra money for the same results.

  • Love the idea - we have been looking for new treat toys to stimulate or dog. Another idea to help show the dog how to get the treats (we did this with or dog) is to click and toss a treat near the toy when the dog nudges or rolls over the 'toy'. That way they know they are doing the right thing to get those treats out & will gain confidence to continue trying :) I'm going to make some of these today - great idea to sand the rough edges!

  • thank you so much this toy is keeping our puppy amused as i type!! he loves it

  • SWEET

  • awesome!! i just got an australian sheperd mix puppy and this will be great for him to figure out!! XD

  • @Jaimegirl96 I got a pure bred Aussie pup but I think he would eat the container =c

  • aww

  • I think that my dog just wil bite it till evreything is out of it

  • THAT is coool!

  • i need some advice....

well, my best friends dog is having puppies sometime this year :)

and i seriously want one :D

my mum really wants a dog, and so does my dad, but they both think that they'll end up doing all the work D:

how do i convince my parents that i WILL look after it?

the dogs a cocker spaniel by the way :)x

  • I made one for both of my dogs, but they just don't want to play with it : (

  • Very good idea. Thanks

  • i want a dog!!!!!!!!!!

  • @qooh1 If you want to a dog, take my advice-do some research onn what kind to get. For instance,if you get a shepherd dog that needs to run every day-if you live in a apartment versus a ranch-it makes a difference.

The pens are full of dogs on death row because couldn't train themselves to handle it.

Other than that, I hope you get a dog who has a good life with you!

  • great idea! I'll try that.

  • my dog dont like dog toys he just tries to eat them :S

  • Thanks for the tip ! My dog is actually eating his dog food now ! lol...

I put a lot of food in it so that it falls out easily and to avoid him just eating the container as he's a big dog and a tough chewer.

The food falls out a bit at a time and he's to busy eating to destroy the container.

    Thanks !

  • so i just made one, n my dogs were like WTF? lol i let them be n they are very curious bout it. i think they'll love it when they test it out a few more times.

  • very interesting, I make one for my dogs! 5*

  • my border loves things like this except i spoil him and got him a few of the planet dog toys with treatspot so you can put kibble in the balls and they can roll it around also doubles as a plain old ball haha.

  • also makes any easy holiday present for puppy.

  • is that a border collie!? cool i have one too!!!!!

ill defenetly make her thet toy

    i love her sooooooo much!!!

  • i definetly make one for my dog name aisteru. i think she will like this. thank you so much! make more videos pls.

  • Is Splash munching on pieces of carrots!?

  • Wow, this was a superb idea! And what a great way to recycle plastic!

Isn't this something like the Kong Toy or Buster cube? Anyhow, this one's better because you make it on your own without paying money!

    Awesome video 5*

  • Jessie loves this toy and we also use boxes and milk jugs!

  • Such a brilliant idea Emily! Thanks for the great video! I'm going to make one of these for Lola (that crazy Havanese pup we're looking after, she's starting to drive the whole family nuts now! Maybe this will help keep her entertained, and help Sparky find some peace for a few minutes, haha...).

    Thanks again!

    Lizzy & Sparky

  • My Australian Shepherd has one of these and it is one of his favourite toys. When it is supper time, he often gets half in his bowl, and the 2nd half comes in his food ball - but he has to work for it. He will also bring it to us when it is empty & "ask" for refills. I tell all my friends about it. Thanks for the great homemade version!

  • i steal my dog toys its easy. i save 20-30 bucks on a few toys every time i step into a pet shop

  • Thats really not something to brag about

  • They sell those food dispensing toys here for around 30-40 bucks only because its such a small island and hardly any pet stores around... so finding this great tip was a big help ... thanks Emily!

  • Great idea, but I already have a ball that does this. I wanted to say though that a favourite toy of my dog when younger was an empty bottle with label and cap/lid removed e.g. a big Coca Cola ltr type. They are great fun because they are hard to get hold of and go shooting across the floor. Food can be put inside to come out the nozzle.

Again, supervise your pet with these as the plastic can be chewed - mine's a Border Collie so larger dog's jaws may be too strong and crush it.

  • This is a really great idea. :D

    Thanks!

  • Great suggestions, and warnings! I love to make things out of what most people throw away! :-)

  • Great idea and way too cute!

  • Can't wait to try this!

  • thankyou for the wonderful idea. I can't wait to try it with my little guy.

    :)

  • Great idea!

The last clear container seems to work better than the flat ones that seem to get stuck on one position. The long clear one container at the end keeps rolling and rolling and working!

  • What an awesome idea! I will try this with Kaine too:).

  • smartt~

  • thanks for the idea! I'll be doing this :-)

  • great! 5 *

  • Ince again an awesome tip! We use almost every cardboard in the house (cereal-boxes etc) to hide treats so the dog can tear it :) Pipsa loves these games!

  • Thats very cool! Splash eats cardboard :( But Kiko likes to play with paper towel rolls taped closed with holes with treats in.

  • What a great idea and video! Thanks!!!! This is one of those "now why didn't I think of that" things!

  • I'm gonna try that! Buddy will love it!!

  • fantastic idea! 5*

  • Great tip! Thanks bunches...will try this tomorrow.

    Happy Holidays!

  • VERY good idea! I could have saved myself $14 on buying a rubber one with holes. lol

  • I do the same thing, since I have a small 15 lbs dog, I use a lot of empty clean vitamin pill bottles (pill containers.)

Strangely, my dog somehow DOES eventually get the lids off if they aren't childproof. And I don't even add holes in the bottles, he chews them until holes get torn in them... lol.

  • Awesome!

  • That's great. I did a similar toy for my horses using a plastic jug. He loves beating it around knocking out carrot pieces.

  • Great idea!

  • that's awesome =D

  • hah gd tip

  • We invested in a few buster cubes for our dogs, same idea, but there is only one hole and the inside is like a maze. lol.

  • What a fantastic idea. Thanks so much, Emily! 5*s!!

  • yeah first to watch and comment!

Love this tip! Thank you! I really appreciate that you talk about sanding the edges :)
