  • Is this from a movie? If so, what movie?

    Thanks :D

  • Its from a movie called Looking On The Bright Side.

  • I have lots of rare Gracie records, which I have uploaded here on youtube. A new cd called The Real Gracie on The acrobat label is due out any day lots of rare stuff from my own collection 105 tracks in total in addition to Ramona cd on my own label criterion, plus Requests 1930-52, which I compiled for pickwick in 2005. I meet Gracies nephew years ago. well done for sharing this classic clip.

  • Pity we have no one like Gracie today. Wonderful film thanks for sharing this.

  • Charming, simply charming. Anyone who lived through the 30s must have some great memories and stories to tell.

  • Wonderful!

  • Al Bowlly also does a wonderful rendition of this fabulous song.

  • how positive and lovely! we need more songs like this.

  • Brilliant!

My Gran told me that she was in" knipes" a hairdressers here in Portsmouth having a permanent wave done when news came through on the wireless that Gracie Fields had had an emergency operation & was critically ill, this must have been in about 1938. It is a pity that we have no one today to lift the mood of the nation, everything is doom laden especially soaps on the TV. We need a few more people with real talent & less celebrities that are only famous for being on the telly

  • fantastic

  • I miss the 1930s so much now...

  • I love this song! A wonderful performance here.

  • After all it was for beauty, love the old permanent wave machine. Fun flick I bet too.
