@theking12372 Actually Malgobek was founded in 1935 as a settlement for workers at then recently discovered oilfields, on the territory of former Ingush villages of Malgobek-Balka and Chechen-Balka . Town status was granted to it in 1939.

In the 1990s, the town's population doubled due to an influx of refugees from the wartorn neighboring republic of Chechnya.

In the religion and philosophy of the Ingushes, the Solar emblem (in the center of the flag) represents not only the sun and the universe but also awareness of the oneness of the spirit in the past, present and future. The red recalls the struggle of the Ingush people for existence and in the defence of their homeland. The white symbolizes the divine purity of the thoughts and views of the nation. The green is the symbol of Islam.
