I served 14 years in the Marine Corps. About 3 weeks ago I was at a store with my wife. When we came out of the store we found that my had "Murderer" in large red letters painted on my windshield. I noticed a young man must have been 16 or so giggling. I asked him did he see who did this? He said "I did you f**king baby killer!" I walked away wanting to smash him all over the parking lot. My wife tugged me to her and we walked away. I will never understand why I did not just destroy that kid?

OK, so being patriotic does not mandate agreeing to killing people for other people's reasons and for world dominance. Oil is not a reason to kill. US Marines should be used for defense of the American people. Not as a aggressive force against the world. Got it! I'm proud of My son who was a Marine, however I'm very disappointed in the United States for the misuse of force against other countries. The fault of the Marines is they follow orders without question, and often times without reason.

What matters is that there are a lot of young men and women who joined the various military services that want to serve this country in any way they may be asked. You have to love them for that. I have stickers on my vehicle for the USMC & I have actually encountered situations like this; mistake for those ignorant folks was all they say was a "tiny little woman" - they didn't realize I was a Marine wife and I take no BS from ignorant people. If you cannot support our troops for their service/sacrifice, then shut the Hell up and get out of our country.
I am so relieved that all it takes is a bumper sticker on my car to support the troops. For some reason I thought there was more to it than that but thankfully there are songs like this to remind us that it's really that simple. Being an American is much easier than I thought. I'm going to Walmart right now to buy a whole bunch of bumper stickers. Although I think the singer is saying I need an SUV for it to really mean something and I can't afford the gas for one so I'm really conflicted.
Thank You Chely. My Husband was killed in Viet Nam just 1 month and 3 days before his daughter was born ,so he never got to see his beautiful baby girl. He was proud to be a Marine and it was his 2nd trip. He didn't have to go, but just felt he was needed. God Bless our troops and please keep them safe and bring them all home.

my brother was a marine...........came home from war on 08/12/10 and home for good on 09/13/10 and while he was in country, he lied just to spare my mom's heart and nights and we had a sticker on our truck.......now i have an army soldier overseas and that sticker is there............

I'm a Female Marine. ive been in for four years and i've been currently here over seas for about a year now.. i love my job, i love the Marine Corps, and without a military, no one would have freedom.. I'm glad i serve with the best men and women in the armed services over here!
My son just graduated from Marine boot camp in November. I am not looking forward to him going overseas but I thank my freedom on the work that these men and women do everyday. So when groups decide to show up at soldiers funerals to protest the war they can thank that freedom to that soldier that just died for the right. I have stickers on my vehicle for the USMC & I have actually encountered situations like this; mistake for those ignorant folks was all they say was a "tiny little woman" - they didn't realize I was a Marine wife and I take no BS from ignorant people. If you cannot support our troops for their service/sacrifice, then shut the Hell up and get out of our country.

I am so relieved that all it takes is a bumper sticker on my car to support the troops. For some reason I thought there was more to it than that but thankfully there are songs like this to remind us that it's really that simple. Being an American is much easier than I thought. I'm going to Walmart right now to buy a whole bunch of bumper stickers. Although I think the singer is saying I need an SUV for it to really mean something and I can't afford the gas for one so I'm really conflicted.

Thank You Chely. My Husband was killed in Viet Nam just 1 month and 3 days before his daughter was born ,so he never got to see his beautiful baby girl. He was proud to be a Marine and it was his 2nd trip. He didn't have to go, but just felt he was needed. God Bless our troops and please keep them safe and bring them all home.

My dad served in the Navy during the Gulf war and my cousins and two uncles are Marines. My sister is in the Army and it bugs the HECK out of me when people are rude about the military. my brother was a marine...........came home from war on 08/12/10 and home for good on 09/13/10 and while he was in country, he lied just to spare my mom's heart and nights and we had a sticker on our truck.......now i have an army soldier overseas and that sticker is there............

My son just graduated from Marine boot camp in November. I am not looking forward to him going overseas but I thank my freedom on the work that these men and women do everyday. So when groups decide to show up at soldiers funerals to protest the war they can thank that freedom to that soldier that just died for the right. This song represents everything America has ever stood for. Maybe I see it diffrently because I'm a third generation Marines kid, but this to me is exactly how every single Marine I've ever met feels. My dad was a marine, my uncles were marines, my granddad was in the army, my great uncles were marines, as well as my great grandpa who was shell shocked in WWII. And ALL of them will tell you, it isn't about politics. None of them stick to just one group. It's about PEOPLE, and what you believe in

my brother is a marine in afghanistan right now. i miss him so much!!! this is the hardest deployment i have ever had to deal with... mainly because i now know what's going on... and he has a baby that just turned 1 while he was gone. I prary for all of our troops everyday! god watch over them and watch over the families who lost their loved ones due to this war! Semper Fi to all of our marines out there!

Did the US Army pay her to make this song?
I was visiting the US a few months prior to the invasion of Iraq. I still remember this song, the Darryl Worley's "Have you forgotten".
No doubt, this is an absolutely beautiful song, but so manipulating that it almost disgusts me. It's so much pulling on emotional strings and the whole "doubt" and "innocent" character personality, in this song is very clever. Sure Cheney and Bush were celebrating when the heard this song. Be aware my friend.

The song hasn't a damn thing to do with politics. Just support of the military regardless of the fight they're fighting.

@cphdotdk My understanding is that this song is based on a real event. Chely has a brother in the Marines. He sent her a US Marines bumper sticker and she put it on her car to support her brother and the rest of the troops.
One day, Chely was parked in a well-to-do neighborhood and was flipped off by a woman after she saw Chely's bumper sticker. She wrote a song about it and sang it for the troops overseas. They asked/begged her to record the song, which she did.

@cphdotdk "Be aware"? I don't have to be aware of anything because I live in a country where I'm free. Listen to the song. She even says I'm not republican or democrat and it doesn't mean I want a war. She's just showing her support, which everybody should. However, there's always little liberal pricks like you that would rather bad mouth than actually do something. You were probably one of the first to say "Somebody save me!" when the planes hit on 9/11, but now you're bitching about the war.

"Be aware" wasn't meant as a threat, but using the few stupid redneck brain cells left in your skull. And everything Bush said was true, right?
And those those bastards that tricked you into believing that it's ok to support troops even if you are against a war, is the most fucked up logic. No, I don't support the troops, I don't support the war and I never did. It's hoax , and so is this song.

@cphdotdk How about instead of bashing the marines you thank them. If you don't like this country then feel free to get the fuck out at your earliest convenience. My fiancee is a marine as well as my big brother. You probably couldn't even make it through boot. But by all means, please, continue to be a self righteous asshole and judge every serviceman and servicewoman because you feel that they are supporting war.
