    Have you tried using the kind of lights that swap between colors every few seconds, ie. rainbow light pens?

    How about using black lights and flourescent colored things or "invisible paints"?

    If you set up your LEDs in a line from red, yellow, and blue, you may also be able to paint rainbows, too with a calligraphic slanted style.
