  • hockeys just a better sport ringette is better to watch.

  • Okay seriously? I think people should realize that you DONT have to choose between hockey and ringette. They are both great sports. Hockey and ringette have a different game play, different rules, different strategies; they are two COMPLETELY different sports!! Its like comparing hockey and basketball, theres really no point; they are different sports.

  • and its also a lot harder because there ISNT the passing rule. i play teams with 1 good player. it would be a hell of a lot easier if that guy was forced to pass. and then theres the hitting, ANY sport without contact is like 78978979 times easier than one where youre getting your ass kicked all game. and btw not all hockey players have black eyes and stuff. kinda stereotypical dont ya think...

  • kay kids calm down. ive never played ringette but ive been playing hockey for my whole life. i guess ringettes alot faster and stuff, but to be honest theres no way that its harder than hockey. first of all the ring just stays on your stick... that doesnt happen with a puck, it can be EASILY lost or swatted away.

  • @14boulanger I would love to watch you stab a ring. Its A LOT harder than it looks. And when there are people checking your stick, keeping the ring its just that easy. Ringette is a mental game too. There are a lot of technical rules such as only three people per team in the offensive zone, and not allowed in the crease. Im not saying hockey is an easy sport, puck handling is one of the hardest things ive ever done. But ringette isnt exactly a walk in the park either.

  • i play ringette i was playing from age 3 and skating from age 2

  • Who won?

  • @xoxonickjonas there is a lot more difference from ringette and hockey then just the sticks and the puck/ring ex. you have to pass over the blue lines, no body cheaking,ect... Ringette isn't a easy little sport that everyone thinks it is.

  • Why don't you quit arguing between hockey and ringette? They are their own sports in their own right and deserve praise and apprectiation as such. Just because men and women happen to use same skates and a rink do not make them anywhere near. Both are great, I love the elegancy of ringette and possibility to dribble like crazy - the speed, merciless power of hockey combined with amazing individual skill is what I love about hockey. Comparing makes for good entertainment but that's all.

  • People I started off playing hockey, then I went to ringette, totally messed me up when I decided to go to hockey, and by the way how in anyway would ringette be harder than hockey the only difference is in hockey you actually have something hard to stick handle like a friggin puck! Ringette U just have a ring to toss to another player.

  • @xoxonickjonas1122 i think if i played ringette id be able to dangle better with the ring cus it isnt as easy to lose as a puck is

  • @Jsouthwell2006 Why do you speak down on ringette so much? It's hard to catch the ring, and it's easy to loose it too. One good check and it's gone. By the way, ringette is also harder (and faster) than hockey on some point. For example, you HAVE to pass at the blue line, you can't enter the goalie's creast, you can't use body contact, etc. Not saying hockey isn't hard, but don't speak down on ringette and assume it's easy. It's really not. Play it before judging it.

  • @C4LLii well you know what? it doesnt matter to me cus i am a goalie so i dont have to worry about that and seeing as im a guy i think ringette would be pretty easy and if i was a forward in ringette it would be easy for me cus id be playing against ppl smaller then me compared to when i played some foward in hockey and played guys twice my size

  • @Jsouthwell2006 My ringette team played against a boys hockey team for charity. We played one full hockey game and the next day, we played a ringette game, so I've played both sports. I can honestly say that both are hard. And I can tell you that boys, no matter how easy they think ringette would be, struggled to keep up. As a forward and not the fastest player on the team, it's my job to screen the goalie, and said goalie saw almost nothing. Again, ringette isn't as easy as you seem to think.

  • @C4LLii well you know what, sense i am not wanna of those goalies that will allow some one to push them around, be prepared for a blocker to the face or a slash to the leg

  • @xoxonickjonas1122 The passing, the fact that you can't go in the goalie's creast (and possibly get behind said goalie), the fact that you have to check the person and not just slam them into a board to get the ring away from them is what makes ringette harder. Ringette is usually faster because there's more passing (I've seen many competitive hockey players impressed by the speed of competitive ringette). In ringette you also have no choice but to work as a team.

  • @xoxonickjonas1122 Not saying hockey isn't hard though. xD I know it is. The puck handling is harder, and I know it can be harder for goalies (since my sister is both a competitive ringette goalie and hockey goalie). Both sports are great to watch, and a lot of fun to play. I prefer ringette myself because I feel it's more focused on team work than hockey is, but both are very enjoyable and equally chanllenging in their own way.

  • ringette seems like hockey, ive never seen ringette

  • if ringette were easy they would call it hockey

  • dude..

    are you SERIOUSS

ringette is way harder then hockey. its actually a team sport. unlike hockey where you can have ONE PERSON go all the way up the ice and score. which anyone who has any speed at all would be able to do.

  • lol, that is so slow game :D

  • that is so easy -.- ice hockey !!<3

  • From a goalie's point of view, ringette is ten times harder then hockey. I play both. I'm going to Westerns for ringette representing Team BC in the Junior A division and my Tier 1 hockey team just came second at provincials.

  • are the rings harder to see than pucks are as a goalie? O.o (ive only ever played hockey so im curious)

  • I've never really noticed a difference, I've done visual drills though to help with my ability to focus on the puck and ring, so my eyes are use trained to see either one.

  • @monstabia i dont think it would be harder to see the the ring is bigger then the puck and the girls arint as big as guys are so if your being screened i dont think it would be hard to see

  • @Jsouthwell2006 It's hard to see the ring if you're being screened. The goalie is a girl too remember? And the equipement makes you bigger. So yes, it is hard to see.

  • @C4LLii ya but im a guy and they dont wear gear like hockey fowards and d-men do also i am a guy so im alot bigger then them and i am a hockey goalie, i fight through screens all the time and the ring is bigger then the puck

  • @Jsouthwell2006 Fail. Make your research before you say anything about the equipement. The only difference in the equipement between ringette and hockey are the socks (in ringette, it's more common to wear pants) and the sticks. That's it. Many lower level players just play with the socks too. And doesn't matter if the ring is bigger. Chances are, you're not going to see it. A ring can go as fast as a puck, and the handling is faster usually (like passes and such).

  • @C4LLii ringette is easy and ive seen the gear the forwards and d-men wear in ringette is isnt as big as hockey and if you played hockey then you would know

  • @Jsouthwell2006 I've played, thanks. And the equipement looks smaller on ringette players because they are smaller than the boys/men who play hockey to begin with. Again, the equipement is the same, except for the pants/socks and the sticks. Go ask a sports equipement store or a ringetter player if you don't believe me. And no, ringette is not easy. Hockey isn't either. Both sports are hard.

Once more, PLAY THE SPORT BEFORE SAYING IT'S EASY.

  • @C4LLii it is a womens sport so it must be easy and in ringette they dont wear shoulder protection ive seen videos and they didnt wear anything so the gear is not the same except with the goalies

  • @Jsouthwell2006 Not wearing shoulder protection has been illegal in ringette for two or three years now. And it was only Belle level (15 to 18) and up that were allowed not to wear shoulder protection. But now everyone has to wear it. So the gear IS the same. And the fact that it's a sport made for women does not make it easy. It's quick, and it can get as rough as hockey (minus the fist fights). And it's based on team work, unlike hockey where one player can keep the puck without passing.

  • @C4LLii you obviously dont know hockey (typical for a women) hockey is a team sport, one player can not keep the whole puck the entire game while his other teammates do jack shit, i played hockey today and on my step bros team there were two friends on the team and when one guy touched the puck he only pased to his friend, THATS WHY HIS TEAM SUCKED DICK AND WE WON CUS IT IS A TEAM SPORT and why would i give ringette a chance when theres nothing beautiful about it? even the girls arint beautiful

  • @Jsouthwell2006 How sexist can you get?! I've played hockey. My sister has played goalie for hockey. Sure, hockey is boring if someone doesn't pass. BUT THEY'RE ALLOWED TO KEEP THE PUCK. They're allowed not to pass. You HAVE the pass the ring in ringette. The whole point is team work. I'm not saying it isn't in hockey. I'm saying it's not quite as important. Players work together in ringette, passing the ring, checking players, etc. You can't just slam players in a board to get the ring.

  • @C4LLii team work is important in hockey, all the teams in the NHL that won the cup won cus of TEAM WORK, explaining something to a women is like trying to explain something to some one who is mentaly challenged and you obviously dunno hockey or you would know that team work is important and you would know that every one on the ice has to work together

  • @Jsouthwell2006 Oh and fuck this. I'm done for real this time. Arguing with you is like arguing with a wall. You're obviously too narrow minded and way too macho to even consider the idea that there's another ice sport that's just as good as hockey is, though not as popular.

And don't comment on the girls playing ringette. They're as beautiful as any other girl out there. Hockey players aren't always the best looking ones either, with their missing teeth and countless black eyes.

  • @C4LLii actually i am pretty good looking, im a goalie so no black eyes or missing teeth and so what if a hockey player has missing teeth or black eyes or cuts on his face thats how a hockey player is suppose to look like, i guess you dont like hockey players and if ringette is just as good as hockey then wouldnt i like it? i think if it was good as hockey i would like it but it is a pussy game for women and girls that play sports are ugly and lezbos

  • @Jsouthwell2006 Plus there's a shot clock that gives teams only thirty seconds to keep the ring (someone from the other team touching said ring resets the shot clock, which does inclde the ring rebounding off the goalie), which makes it that much faster.

Anyways, I'm done arguing. It just sucks that people like you are too narrow minded to even give a beautiful game like ringette a chance.

  • cool I lovee ringuette I play too

  • I LOOOOOVE Ringette =)

  • Thank you for posting this.... would love to see more of it! Still playing after 30 years & now my daughter :))
