and i think that looks like a 4 1/2 by 9.. thats usually what the pros play on in tournaments.

it means only fouls related to the cue ball count. basically the only that aren't fouls in that format are fouls related to accidently touching or moving an object ball

It's not nearly as unimportant as it may seem. If the two balls line up into a combination it always matters. If the balls aren't frozen, a possible throw shot towards the left corner pocket may be impossible. If you listen to the interview at the end, you'll notice that Johnny couldn't get them frozen (as he must!) and "didn't want to make a mess of it". Also, if the 10 came up high enough to where the 2 wouldn't go into the right corner, it would matter even more.
