very good. the visual transition from sweet innocent to slut is a hoot. but I dont think it was what the beach boys intended. she just grew up is all.
@GeminiOsirisDream they were always talking they were afraid some listners would turn the dial passed the station and latch on to some other station this was never on album until endless summer what a bummer.
I love the theme of pulp fiction magazines with the pin ups on them. That's nice to see that? I wish women looked like those pictured on the magazines. The beauty was natural in those days.
Somehow, this masterpiece got lost in the shuffle between California Girls and Barbara Ann. For my money, it's one of the Beach Boys' best singles. And that's saying a lot.
Have always loved the distinctive sound of the Vox Continental organ on this piece. This composition is a good representation of the modal complexities Brian Wilson is so famous for. The chord changes are so rich and satisfying to listen to.
I absolutely LOVE this song. Brian on the chorus. Carl and Al/Brian on the verses. Mike on bass. I think dennis sings on this too, but not sure. GREAT production !! Just a great celebration song !!! ....even though the theme is a little bittersweet.. I think I like the other mix that has an A Capella stop in the middle. JHP
Sorry folks but this little forgotton beachboys song is my favorite, THE LITTLE GIRL I ONCE KNEW brilliant supreme what a tune what a gem oh this sound free of say the beach flavor shows us how great BEACH BOYS ARE in more watys than one, this doo wop/rocknroll historian knows great music. this is an example. tomkes
Brilliant! Definitely a laugh out loud moment after the pause at 0:37. One thing, I think at the reprise of the intro theme at 2:11-2:13 you should have also reprised the innocent cover theme.
Great track - Its funny because I recently re-established contact with a woman I knew from years back and she had made life choices I never thought she would. The life choices she made were similar to those made by the women in this video (so I'll leave it your imagination!) - so she wasn't the girl I once knew!
This song was the perfect follow-up to "California Girls". The dumb-arsed radio stations couldn't see past their noses and killed this masterpiece of harmony & production, on the lame-duck excuse of 'dead air'. They never understood ... the poor bastards. Brian still does a grand on-stage version of this fabulous song these days, with his equally-fabulous 11-piece touring band.

Those classic naughty pulp novel covers you used in this video 'comic'-ally suits this song.
Very Creative & Creative. Nice Work.

That silence is the reason is wasn't a hit. The DJs at that time didn't like the dead air.

Interesting video of pulp fiction titles juxtaposed with the somewhat "innocent" lyrics of the song. Great!
