All I remember is that there were tons of gnats or flies buzzing around, and my legs felt like they were going to fall off!

I remember this from over 25 years ago.That is a steep climb up Trail Peak.Going down was no picnic either,my knee caps felt like they were going to explode from constantly trying to avoid a fall in the loose rocks.Loved every minute of it.

When we went in 2007, 710-o2 we cmme from crater lake, up trail peak, with full packs, and then down to Buebien. eck of a climb up.

I think they did do this as a side hike. I don't see there packs and i think that there is only one why to trail peak.
