the third coffin was suppose to be the fourth hokage but kishimoto hadn't thought that far ahead so it was a mistake. the fourth couldnt have been summoned so we can just forget about that third coffin
FYI the real Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju would have destroyed Hiruzen Sarutobi within seconds. Tobirama didn't even use his teleportation jutsu which basically made gave him the edge in every battle. Sandaime is strong indeed, but not so strong that he would survive a second of battle with his predecesors.
I don't believe that the third coffin was that of yondaime hokage, Namikaze Minato. He seald himself within the shinigami along with the kyubi's chakra, making it impossible for him to ever be summoned with edo tensei. I think is was the real Uchiha Madara.

The third has every jutsu non kekkei genkai in konoha, but he is no match before the wood release, not to mention the 1st is also a senju which gives him super strength, along with having a jutsu that essentially makes whoever it's cast upon to be able to see nothing. That was his in the manga, they gave it to the 2nd to give him something flashy to use in the anime since he couldn't use edo tensei.

Think of it like this, he didn't plan on making a story so long. When you are making a tv show or manga, you can't ever be sure it's going to last 600 chapters so you have to kinda keep it as so. At the time of that fight, that's what he planned the strongest to be at. And he probably had orochimaru as last villain

The 2nd seems to be pretty average besides edo tensei but the first was way strong.

Everyone, there is a reason he summoned the hokages and not say the third raikage. The third raikage > 4th hokage but still, the first and second are without a doubt stronger than any other kages except maybe the 1st kazekage. The 1st hokage has that jutsu where everything turns dark, mokuton which took like 100+ rasenshurikens to defeat one use of it, earth, and water jutsu, along with life element jutsu, that's bare minimum. 2nd has impure world and high leveled water atleast.
So who was in the third coffin anyway? Minato used shiki fuujin so he can't be summoned by edo tensei. Yet the third summoning only failed cuz of the third hokage witch means that there was someone else in that coffin that could be summoned. Does anyone have an idea on who it might have been?

@IDdav32 The 4th is a one trick poney who was only able to teleport. Tsunade fails. The third has every jutsu non kekkei genkai in konoha, but he is no match before the wood release, not to mention the 1st is also a senju which gives him super strength, along with having a jutsu that essentially makes whoever it's cast upon to be able to see nothing. That was his in the manga, they gave it to the 2nd to give him something flashy to use in the anime since he couldn't use edo tensei.

Think of it like this, he didn't plan on making a story so long. When you are making a tv show or manga, you can't ever be sure it's going to last 600 chapters so you have to kinda keep it as so. At the time of that fight, that's what he planned the strongest to be at. And he probably had orochimaru as last villain

You must also keep in mind that the 3rd in no way hurt the 1st hokage besides the explosive tag while the 1st was beating the shit out of the third. But yeah, the author wasn't sure if his manga would end the very next arc for all he knew. Also the 1st hokage was just tsunade's grandpa till madara was revealed. The 2nd seems to be pretty average besides edo tensei but the first was way strong.

Shunshin: Genin have that move, Gaara used it to dissapear and appear in his first appearance.
How would it annihilate me if it doesn't hit me? It's useless and I would trust that years of martial arts training would give me the ability to dodge one ball once.

Everyone, there is a reason he summoned the hokages and not say the third raikage. The third raikage > 4th hokage but still, the first and second are without a doubt stronger than any other kages except maybe the 1st kazekage. The 1st hokage has that jutsu where everything turns dark, mokuton which took like 100+ rasenshurikens to defeat one use of it, earth, and water jutsu, along with life element jutsu, that's bare minimum. 2nd has impure world and high leveled water atleast.
