I remember my high school band director showing a few of us students this on vhs. I was 14 or 15 & a little too young to appreciate what I was seeing. Being a drummer I was watching Kenwood Dennard more than I was Jaco. I had the coolest band director. He also had a couple of Steve Gadd DCI videos. Of course, now I'm a big Weather Report fan and a fan of Jaco's solo work. The Birthday Concert is a must for Jaco fans. Check it out!
@drewper73 When my band director played this tape for us, he told us how Jaco had died and I just remember the sadness in his voice as he told us what happened. Years later, after forgetting that story, something reminded me of how Jaco had died so I had to go to Wikipedia to get the details. Very sad story.
JACO FUE EL MEJOR DE SU EPOCA E INFLUYO EN MUCHOS BAJISTAS DE ESTA EPOCA.....AUN MUCHOS NO PUEDEN EJECUTAR MUCHAS DE SUS PIEZAS FUE UN INNOVADOR...EN SU ESTILO....FUE UN VISIONARIO DEL BAJO

@Deep40000 I did. Several times. His exercises are quite challenging. And no thumbs down for that god-sent bass player.
