Actually Sean Penn didn't win for I Am Sam, I don't think, he won for Mystic River though. And yeah I liked Slumdog but it wasn't ~*AMAZING*~ like everyone says it is, I kind of wanted some completely random movie to win like Frost/Nixon.

Biggest question/disappointment of the night for me though was where the HELL was Jack Nicholson?!?!?! He is usually front row center!!

Hmm. I didn't watch that many movies last year so I couldn't say. But I certainly think that Wall-E was a better film than Slumdog - more interesting, more thoughtful in some ways, though it was a little mawkish... But I felt about Slumdog the same way as I felt about Crash (winner of best picture 2005) - good, but just missing that last thing, that would have made it great. What a dull post I'm wiriting.

I am resolved to watch more films this year! Yes. Good. This is progress.

I was glad that Heath Ledger got it but I thought Mickey Rourke should have got it for best actor over Sean Penn.
