Its not illegal to have one, but if its cloudy its illegal to have the cord dangling over the ashtray, but when in a zone where it is commercial you can actually turn it on, except on presidents day then it has to be disconnected from the power source. However when crossing into another county it has to be mounted on the roof unless you have at least six tires then there is no jurisdiction in such cases.

I was driving in Indianapolis on their bypass and the speed was 55 and I was doing about 60 and I was having about every car pass me and I ask the guy in my truck why is it 55 when no one likes that speed just who on earth put this at 55 and I wonder if the one that did does 55 LOL..

Here's a consept, DON"T SPEED! Then you don't get a ticket. With gas prises the way they are going 55 or less saves gas.
