@screenracer hi dude, nice video i really enjoy it... i'm new to 3d rad, i know some stuff and i would be thankful if you could tell me how you did that damage, what program did you used? Thank's pal
The physix engine works on all PC's. It has a standard engine for non-physix based PC's. But one thing to keep in mind, if you require a physix card for your project, you narrow down the user base. As a good rule, if you are going to make a project for public use, try to accommodate for slower computers. In the end its all about what your goals are. I use 3Drad because it has great shader system, a solid physics engine (ODE) and a outstanding editor for your projects! Search 3Drad on youtube :)
The first engine was called Renderware, Criterion Software created it. A few years ago, EA purchased the license. The engine is no longer public. The second one is an XNA demo for the 360 and PC. That sample is only dynamic. No car physics, just parts that break off on contact. That is why the scene is only a tube and 2 cars. That is all the xbox could push. If you are interested in doing this kind of stuff, I highly recommend going to to the 3drad (dot) com website, link is in the description.
I use 3ds max, but you can use the free gmax modeling tool to build 3d models. I broke the model up into 5 sections, each having an intact model and damaged looking model. I use the 3drad engine because you don't need to know how to code. So in game, I have 2 collision meshes per part, one to stop when it hits the wall, and one slightly deeper inside. Because when you have contact, you do have penetration, so if the inside collision reaches the wall and makes a contact, it swaps out the model.

As far as you know, the nvidia physix engine works only on nvidia cards or also on base PC?

very interesting, Im plannig to use the same enviroment to develop my own racing simulator.
How did you add damage model?
migliortestesso 3 years ago
Question, can you narrow down your question a bit? Are you wondering how I did it from an art standpoint, code, or 3D Rad engine? thx! :)

is it a program or game?

I am using the 3D Rad program to make this a game. The above video was captured in real time.
