  • I'm often asked about the meaning of the titel. Translation could be "Nameless Mothers". Maarten wrote the tune after having watched this documentary: SEX IN A COLD CLIMATE (ask google...) Be aware, it's heavy stuff...

    Cheers, Rémi

  • супер!!!

  • nice playing! To bad there isn't really any pastoral pipes videos on youtube.

  • This song is sooooooo amazing.... I think i've watched it like 100 times... The Pastoral Pipes sound great and the guitar playing fits so well...

    Simply... Amazing.

  • Uhm, that's not really correct.

Remi is the one playing the pipes. Rémi's Pastoral Pipe were built by Geert LeJeune from Belgium.

  • oh sorry. i ve removed my wrong posting.

  • Prachtig lied, ik krijg er tranen van in mijn ogen!

    Mooi gespeeld allemaal!

  • Those drones! Deep deep sound. Cool stuff

  • Neat! My guess is these are a very old type of pipe? Very pretty sounding!

  • They are, first made in the 1720s in London, and first recorded in Scotland and Ireland in 1760, the chanter was cut from the C# to D and the union pipe was born. Later the instrument was loudened by the Taylor brothers and re named in 1920s as the Uilleann pipe. The union pipe was developed in all three countries of the then UK (England, Scotland and Ireland). Even the foot joint may have been removed in 1745-1770 so the historian's don't know who did that. Very bcool Baroque instrument.

  • Hi Remi,

Fabulous playing! Could you tell us who made your pastoral pipes?

  • OMG the pastoral pipes are the ancestor of the Uilleann pipes and were played in Scotland, England and Ireland. The chanter was cut to the D scale and the Uillean pipes were born.

  • God bless youtube as I'd never heard of this funny looking pipe! Haunting sound though.

  • Actually I got all that above information on wikipedia.

  • Wonderful :)
