Richard vs. Jomm... just in case anybody doesn't know its a pivot animation. Look up rhg richard vs jomm. You'll see what I mean. Sorry to any rhcp purists. Just sayin that this was great music played in a pivot animation. Not tryin to spam or anything.
You know what would be the best fucking thing in the world. The red hots making a funky album like freaky styley again. Damn that would make me the happiest man on earth.
ok wow boyofdestiny... You dont really need to like all their music, if you wouldnt be some 14 year old scum who downloaded this music cause it was playing on the raido 2006 then you should know this.
RHCP were lucky and many bands were better than them 20 years ago, there were many bands that played in clubs like them if you would only know. I was in one such band and I cant really say that I liked their music better than ours
@boyofdestiny1123 RHCP are lucky to be famous, If you look at bands that played with them at this time, at bars and places, then they werent worse or anything
Fml i never knew rhcp had a shitload of hipsters but other than that this song is the shit and the live recording session with george clinton is Fucking great. And for the dude with top comment get over your self chili are chili i wouldn't want to continue hearing freaky styley albums over and over again i'm glad they got out there and tried a different sounds all the great bands do it in the end.
@misuzuseptemberlove nah that song was a cover of sly stones "if you want me to stay" bass riff is different and all together its a completely diff sound except for the whole funk feel
Look if you seriously think that you have better taste in music because you liked a band "before they were cool" your simply a tool. They said that they were a new band before the bloody release, deal with it.
I love all their music too right up to raindance maggie but I think their post BSSM stuff is a bit softer than their old stuff. Back in the 80s they were a shit hot funky rock punk hip hop band. Uplift is my fav album. On the californication tour they played lots of old stuff and all the live versions are awesome.
What people are unaware of is that rhcp is about changing, but going back to funk once in a while ( hump de bump for instance) but they are mostly about capturing life feelings, hence the large variety of styles. I love em all!!
I think the band died when they released Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Fuck you Mutt Lange but the band obviously achieved what they were after, pop fame). The zombie band has released SOME good material after its demise, but only some.
By the way - for beginner bass players (most likely beginner at slapping) - this song is a great practice (I'm writing this with my bass on my knees) .
@DaylanSutton hey dude atleast the new albums not going to be pop its just i can explain listen to joshs music with john the album is going to have alot to do with death
@DaylanSutton I know, that's the only song a lot of people know. But that's not to say Stadium was a bad album. I don't think you can really be a Chilis fan unless you appreciate all of their music.
@boyofdestiny1123 I love all their music. I just wanted to point out that it annoys me when some people act like they're such big fans when in reality they are unaware of a lot of RHCP's other good songs. For example, this funky groove. lol
@boyofdestiny1123 I believe the Red Hot Chili Peppers are the most musically talented group out now. The modern Beatles in my heart, possibly more. However, I'm implying that it is a shame that I can't connect on an emotional and musical level with my peers because most of my fellow teenagers listen only to the mainstream, commercialized music and may, in fact, not be able to perceive the musical beauty that can be found and instead just follow others to fit in. Oh yeah, and I'm hipster.
@DaylanSutton Right, you're saying that you appreciate Dani California as a song, but because the Chilis are more commercial now a lot of people who like them don't appreciate their emotion or pure musical talent. That I COMPLETELY agree with.
@boyofdestiny1123 yea thats true but their most recent album I'm with you has a much different sound to it after they changed out john frusciante not going to lie i was a little disappointed
@boyofdestiny1123 yea thats true but their most recent album I'm with you has a much different sound to it after they changed out john frusciante not going to lie i was a little disappointed
@boyofdestiny1123 the funkiness died after Blood Sugar and at the time me and my buds thought they sold out but we still spraypainted our cars with RHCP stuff. This is by far my fav album wish it was about 20 mins longer!
@keithmbn The thing is, even if they did sell out (which I don't think they did) they still wrote great music. Music that's not for everybody, that has indeed lost its funk.
@boyofdestiny1123 Okay I don't find that true at all. while I am a person who adores and loves every album I don't think that makes me any more of a fan than someone who doesn't like 1 or 2 albums. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes
@XGONEWBSLAYER To be honest, I actually agree. I just think it's kind of annoying that people don't always give the newer albums the respect that they deserve.
@boyofdestiny1123 yeah i can see that. It also annoys me when people try to put themselves above other chili fans because their fans of their older music.
U SUK MOONMONEY1. U HAV NO TASTE IN MUSIK. IM NOT SURE IF U REMEMBER ME BUT I MADE FUN OF YOU LIKE A YEAR AGO. I IZ BACK. AND THIS SONG SUCKS. SOUNDS LIKE A DUDE WITH A SORE THROAT.
@goldgoblin19 LOL! YOU, MY FRIEND, YOU'RE THE ONE WHO HAVE NO TASTE IN MUSIC! This the real funk, this is the best band in whole world! So if u dont like it stfu and let me close my eyes, ear this chad smith and flea perfect beats and go into the funk music!
@iJonCB it isn't irons! This is the second Peppers' album: Freaky Styley and the drummer is Cliff Martinez. Irons play in the next album: the uplift mofo party plan!
I have to say, I love how the songs off of stadium arcadium and recent ablums since the millenium have unbelievably high views and their early songs like this nobody seems to care about.

I really don't believe that the band went "downhill" after BSSM. I think they went in a different direction. That is all.
I really like their stuff today but I really like their old stuff like this too, maybe even more. I just think it's different.
Bear in mind that if it wasn't for their Post-BSSM songs I would never have got into them so I'm thankful for that.
