RHCP were lucky and many bands were better than them 20 years ago, there were many bands that played in clubs like them if you would only know. I was in one such band and I cant really say that I liked their music better than ours

I really don't believe that the band went "downhill" after BSSM. I think they went in a different direction. That is all.

I really like their stuff today but I really like their old stuff like this too, maybe even more.  I just think it's different.

Bear in mind that if it wasn't for their Post-BSSM songs I would never have got into them so I'm thankful for that.

I love all their music too right up to raindance maggie but I think their post BSSM stuff is a bit softer than their old stuff. Back in the 80s they were a shit hot funky rock punk hip hop band. Uplift is my fav album. On the californication tour they played lots of old stuff and all the live versions are awesome.

What people are unaware of is that rhcp is about changing, but going back to funk once in a while ( hump de bump for instance) but they are mostly about capturing life feelings, hence the large variety of styles. I love em all!!
