  • A beautiful song to wake up to. This song has always been a favorite. It's just so chill and real

  • Chevere...

  • the beginning of this song reminds me of jimi hendrix

  • @YDG777 dude i think thats their main inspiration drawing from his unique sound they created their own unique sound

  • Proper chilled chilli peppers!

    I wait

    I wait

    For the waaaaave to break!

  • suffering succotash XD

  • can i get tabs? anyone? please haha

  • A Wait, A Wait...

  • i don't like this

  • @kiedis05 I think a very short section of the guitar solo is playing the background, around the time they're all hanging out at Jo's house.

  • This song is beautiful in a different way...

  • I have no clue where this song is in twister

  • Daves period produced their best album. Get him back

  • it remind me of light jazz music

  • nice song, i prefer john but dave is great too i gotta say

  • fantastic song!

  • does anybody know the second to last song in twister...where everybody is driving to meet jo and bill.....i think it has shine on in it?

  • the song is "humans being" by van halen

  • Yes, I have a life, but I happen to know where: it's playing in the background when Bill & Jo are first describing to Melissa how DOROTHY works.

  • sounds like lou reed and the velvet underground, don't it...?:-)

  • dig it.

  • sounds like a song about anthony battling not only drug addiction but his own inflated sense of self worth

theres actually a few lyrical references to him battling his ego in the one hot minute era....one big mob and lets make evil for instance

  • STFU AND LISTEN TO THE SONG :L

  • that would just be stupid

instead of writing an imature little comment listen to the music ((:

no1 cares about what you have to say

  • Comment removed

  • the way the guitar plays that ascending chord progression introduced at the beginning of the song, at the end of the guitar solos is divine ecstacy

  • this is my atleast 50th time in a row listening to this song. so beautiful of a song. just like the rest of their b-sides. they need to make like a 2 or 3 disc album with all of their b-sides on it. I love the first solo in this song and the part where Anthony sings "i wait... i waittttt"

    Suffering Succotash!!!! XD

kinda off topic, but if you wanna talk- xbl gamertag: beepersnacks95

  • I love the weird speech in the end.

  • Quick release chemicals strike with incomprehensible precision Biorganic electronics targeting microscopic destinations of devistation Cleaner than light Meaner than a laser fight in the night 2000 Billions of micro maniacs unknown to most as the uncontrollable soldiers Of suffering succotash Instantaneous infiltration leaves me with a case of bustation, frustration, Alone in the constellation of alienation detached from empty conversation I wait I wait For the waaaaaave to break.

  • Of course, he sounds like Lou Reed...

  • all these b-sides have this strange darkness about them....

    but great songs

  • I prefer Anthony's old singing style to his more recent one

  • for the wave to break!

  • I wait......I wait.....

  • I'm intrigued as to why this never made it onto the album, let along made a single.

  • This and LETS MAKE EVIL also STRETCH should've been on ONE HOT MINUTE!

  • antony's voice sounds a bit like velvet revolver's sunday morning.

a nice song to play acoustic.

  • sounds like bob bonus track with OHM

  • Navarros best songs were bsides.

  • u are so right!

most of their best stuff was b-sides but then again the people who produced the cds picked the ones that would be hits... not what was best.

or it could just be that they are new songs and we havent heard them much... :) either way their songs are beautiful and full of emotion! i love them :D

  • b-side songs are the best. i should buy all of them, much better than the latest albums!

  • SKA!!!

  • THis isn't Ska helloladies, if you want ska look up the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

  • Dave and John are both great players, but John has a more melodic and deep aproach, which fits perfectly in the RHCP music, but Dave is also a dynamic player with a lot of skills.I like both of them

  • this song is great!!

  • I much prefer Frusciante. I love John Frusciante's solo music more than the Chili Peppers. But this song is nice. I like it.

  • Being entirely honest, there's something I prefer about Navarro's style.

  • Being entirely honest, no one cares

  • Make a little effort to not be obnoxious next time.

  • I prefer Navarros style as well. Here he did much better than with Janes Addiction. Frusciante is good too, but there's something about Navarros approach that I love.

  • Frusciante's playing on Blood Sugar Sex Magik was genius, but when he re-joined the band after One Hot Minute he really fizzled in my opinion... Not that he's bad by any means but I don't hear the kind of creativity coming out of him that could be heard in the earlier days of RHCP.

  • being entirely honest dont search a song with navarro on it

he excels in all 16 songs to come out of the one hot minute era

so yeah go fuck yourself fuckwit

  • this should have been on the album.

navarro really kills on this song

  • It always drives me crazy how many B-sides the Peppers have that could have taken the place of worse songs on their albums. I feel like they could have been a whole different band by now if they had this song on the record.

  • Agree with Bayview05, John is my god, I prefer him than Navarro, but I think Dave did a really good and beatiful job in the One Hot Minute album and ture. People that burn Dave Navarro should listen to some stuff of 1994-1997. Of course, John Anthony Frusciante is perfect.

  • Dave navarro were fired becuase they didnt create good enough, and i agree whit you One Hot Minute is a master piece!

  • Stop being a dickhead, I don't see why it has to be a competetion, surely it's ok to like navarro and frusciante.

  • Well, I just hate when people go on ranting "Oh John is so great" and go off insulting Navarro. THey are both just about equal to each other, I dont know why people prefer to support John and burn Dave.

  • People prefer John to Dave because John fits in with the band more than Dave did I do like OHM but with John the band seems to have better chemistry together. As for OHM songs being "too complicated" for John thats not the case its not that he cant play them he doesnt want to because it was while he wasnt there when he was going through a bad time in his life he also removed his solo albums from store shelves because he didnt like the reasons that he had for making them

  • I dont dislike Dave but John is a better guitarist and a better member for the band

  • Actually, johnny said that "Navarros playing style is competitly different than mine. so thats why we wont play songs like Aeroplane ."

  • actually if read scar tissue it wil corectly inform u dat dey dont play ne of OHM songs coz it was a bad time 4 john!!

  • haha paddypower... loving the name!

  • they play pea

  • Bayview05 way to be a fuckin dillweed its there opinion

Navarro didnt fit RHCP very well he writes more traditionally and frusciante jams

personally i like frusciantte, but navarro is alright

  • Its my opinion too, asshole

  • yeah but most of them arent being assholes about the other musician

but your right it is your opinion so i'm not going to exasterbate this argument anymore

  • thank you.

  • i love that word

  • exasterbate? 'Tis not a word my friend.

    Exacerbate

  • I WISH every guitar player could Jam like John! Shit! Can you imagine how great that would be! I'm not too sure why everyone else loves John, But I get off on Passion. I just don't see as much of that from Navarro. Also man, I'm not trying to stir up old arguments but John has never said that. He still says to this day that he has never heard anything from OHM and that he's not interested in ever hearing it. He would have no way of knowing the "Difficulty" of the music. Navarro's great too.

  • no need to be an asshole

  • It should be noted that Dave Navarro was instructed by Joe Satriani.

  • I like apples and oranges

  • dont like dave navvaro?

    why not?

i prefer hillel and john to dave but i still think hes pretty good

  • i don't really like navarro but the song isn't that bad

  • ok, john is better than navarro, but lets not forget, dave kept the band going, without him we loose the chili's for a long time, if not forever.

  • this song is awsome. Love the sound, thanks for posting

  • yeah DuckpowerFile it reminds me on walkabout,too... =O

    but..ehhh its so good =)

    is it written by flea??

  • This sounds really similar to the other b-side Bob.

  • I actually thinks, that this one reminds a bit of walkabout. Idk why, but it does.

  • i know it is navarro on guitar but i still like it.

  • OHM was a superb album, and for me the Chili Pepper's last. They only went down after the turn of the century.

As for Dave, yeah he was far better for Jane's Addiction. He was more suited to the way they played. But he helped the Peppers come out with the masterpiece that is OHM, and for that I am eternally grateful.

  • Though Dave Navarro might have some character flaws(we all do),(I did read Scar Tissue), he was trained to play the guitar by Joe Satriani, aka he is one of the undisputed elite players.

  • yeah it reminds me also on song Walkabout, by the way a great song, all of them of course

  • great song, dave is a gerat guitarist, whether he was good with rhcp is a different issue.

  • in all honesty this sounds like Flea wrote it if you read Scar Tissue you find that Kiedis was too into drugs that he barely had any input in writing songs and lyrics. lyrically and chord wise this sounds like something flea would have written I woudln't be surprised if he did.

  • yeah, anthony was stoned one day he left, tried to get clean, came back some time later and found that Flea had written a lot. I remember that he said Flea wrote the Deep Kick intro and most of the song, the only part of the song anthony wrote was the "I remember, ten years ago" part and after that, which sounds like a different song.

You are write, flea would have written this

  • omg reeading back on these comments your like a broken record with your "in scar tissue, anthony Even addmits little imvolvement why does everyone have to quote that dambook!

  • they do!! haven't read it yet but it sounds like EVERYTHING is mentioned!

  • the lyrics and him singing reminds me of Walkabout, for some reason...

  • Was this from the same album that produced warped, if it is, that is so cool because, that may have lead to stadium arcadium

  • sounds like velvet underground

  • Wath? lol!

this isnt their style! this songs suxs but in the same time is very cool!

    ahh....

Dave play the guitar very well! but johnny is betta!

  • another melancholic song on youtube: "dogma-till? - arvind"

  • did john or dave write this guitar part? for some reason i just cant see this coming from navarro, but prove me wrong!

  • I know, thats what I thought, when I found out this was from the warped single i was shocked, I thought there was no way it could be navarro but i guess it must be... he suprises me in nice ways

  • in all honesty this sounds like Flea wrote it if you read Scar Tissue you find that Kiedis was too into drugs that he barely had any input in writing songs and lyrics. lyrically and chord wise this sounds like something flea would have written I woudln't be surprised if he did.

  • ive read scar tissue man... sure, ak was deep in his drug phase but that was were most of his lyrics came from..thelyrics sound like ak's style of writing

  • I have to honestly disagree Kiedis even wrote that he had very little input lyrically in that album and Flea himself admits he had written lyrics and chords to songs such as Walk about, Aeroplane, Falling Into Grace, and had to do back up vocals to cover for the leaving of John, and come up with vocal melodies to Anthony's lyrics.

  • to be honest i cant see flea writing these lyrics...fleas drug experiences, compared to kiedis, werent as dark and i just cant see it...especially that spoken verse at the end. But, on the contrary, i did read that kiedis had very little input in ohm, so you do have validity in saying that

  • Flea is such a spiritual person, I have heard three tracks from his unreleased solo album he can write stuff like this if not even more spiritual. I don't even think this even has to do with drugs (although it most likely does). He was going through a rought time as well during that era. Lets cut it in the middle and say that Kiedis could have written these lyrics but structure and vocally I believe flea would have made it.

  • Where did you hear those songs? I have been looking for them everywhere!

  • they're floatin around youtube look hard, its sad he talks about the divorce of his first wife and missing his childhood and how lonely he felt. It bummed me out.

  • I like the rap or the "speed-talk" in the end of the song.

  • Keidis quoted by rolling stone on OHM in 1995:"Kiedis directs any and all detractors to the album itself: "If someone says, 'This isn't what I expected,' I would say, 'Hallelujah!' And if someone says, 'This isn't what they used to sound like,' I would say, 'Damn straight.' ........The songs we've written and the way we've played them are as exciting and hard-ass as anything we've ever played. It's just a different space. We're different people. We're growing."

  • This song shows how unique anthony's voice is

    great song

  • good song- but who am I to judge? Our opinions/feelings/dreams/thoughts/lives are just the microscopic cells to the bacteria that we actually are. Its music like this that makes keeps this bacteria from not unraveling.

  • One Hot Minute was very underrated. The first few times I listened to the CD (after adjusting to the stylistic differences) I was very pleased with Navarro's ability to mesh musically (if not so well) with the band. Any song or riff that he uses the wah pedal, or uses feedback are high quality on OHM. Also tracks with minimalist guitar by him are at the very least not bad. i.e. walkabout, etc.

  • nvm

  • Damn, it's nice. Anthony sounds really kool here!

  • i'll bet anyone that this guitar is written by flea.

  • and we'd find out the truth how?

  • this song could pass as john frusciante playing... same with a whole bunch of other navarro songs, one hot minute is under rated seriously people suck

  • gimme one song that has a good guitar part on OHM. Navarro is a shredder. who wants that in a song? noone because shredding sucks. navarro sucks.

  • listen to walkabout, shallow be thy game or the post chorus of trancending ;)

  • shredding doesn't suck, it's just a different style. One that doens't fit with what the Chilis usually do.

And I hate Dave Navarro. Still, OHM was a nice album.

  • When one states an opinion as fact, they don't look so smart to others. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  • in my defense i was bored and younger

  • Whoa, what? Seriously, fretwalker? Navarro is an AMAZING guitarist, for lack of a better word. Shit, RHCP wouldn't have asked him to join if he wasn't. And I won't even respond to, "gimme one song that has a good guitar part on OHM." Ha! That was just a ridiculous thing to say man...

It's one thing to not care much for his style, but to say the things you've said about Navarro's playing and ability is ignorant and just...well...stupid.

  • @DottyLomax Well said.

  • shredding goes against everything that music is. and if thats considered music...well its not....idk.

navarro SUCKS. the only good song in ohm is tearjerker, other than the intro. but navarro just has millions of tracks on that.

and i listened to those songs. their not that great. listen to ANY of johns stuff.

  • yea ! :p navrro sucks !

  • yea ! :p navrro sucks !

  • john shreds as well lol

  • not much. he doesn't rely on it to make him seem good like every other guitarist that shreds.

  • Get your head out of Frusciante's ass. Navarro is just as skilled as John, if not more.

  • that is a lie. john is one of the best to do it. dave can write stuff but when put on the spot to improvise, he fails.

  • god dammit

every single guitar part in one hot minute is a beautiful chord progression, or maniac guitar solo...with all differing colours and sounds...

awesome album with densely layered guitar parts lines

i love all 17 songs that came of out the one hot minute era...cant get enuff

  • daddydenko - I feel exactly the same. One Hot Minute remains my favorite and most influential album of any band.

You can tell there was so much work put into it, especially by Dave. As you mentioned, every tone, chord, transition - every nuance - just sounds so well-thought out.

I'd love to hear the four of them together again, but sadly, I know I won't see that happen.

  • @DottyLomax think what you want.. but i mean that album was fantastic.. but im gonna have to say your wrong... listen to blood sugar and then listen to mothers milk. they totally changed from like hardcore punk/metal/funk to alternative/punk/moderate rock awesomeness.. RHCP for life

  • get your head out of dave's. :P

  • @Bayview05 my head is SO far up frusciante's ass. but inside of it i see that dave joining was the best thing for the band at the time and they made a decent album (aside from what the critics say). He held the band together during the rough drug filled time and he is a great guitarist, just with a different style. HOWEVER, I would have to say frusciante is a bit more skilled than Navarro

  • You've certainly said some dumb shit thus far, fretwalker.

"Shredding goes against everything that music is."

Dude, music is what you make of it. Get your head out of your (and Frusciante's) ass and realize that.

And as for Frusciante - I couldn't care less for the guy's playing (at least nowadays, anyway). But I wouldn't dare say he "SUCKS", because he doesn't. He just doesn't play to my liking is all. If you had said that about Navarro, you wouldn't be catching shit like you are now.

  • I kinda agree with ByTheWayBecca, Dave Navarro was a good guitarist; but his style just didn't go with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante is an Amazing guitarist, his style suits them best.

  • actually they both are.

  • I love this song! the only thing is that Navarro

and the Chili Peppers just didn't click. i think it's

just because Dave has a different playing style

than what goes with the Red Hots.

  • DAVE NAVARRO IS A GOD!

  • iew. no hes not. john frusicainte is.

  • i don't think navarro was as bad as people say. he has just a different style of playing, that's it, though i like john better (and of course hillel, too)

  • There's no way you can compare Navarro to Frusciante. As for Hillel I'm not sure, I bet only a few people would be willing to study his guitar playing.

  • this is song is pretty ridiculous, and by that I mean... OHM keeps on giving--OHM forever!

  • ha, i love it, i love this band so much!!! i like the end when anthony talks, awsome!

  • awsome !

  • cool song

  • just an incredible song! i dont why people say that the chili peppers era of 1995 was so bad, because one hot minute was awsome!

  • everything without slovak or frusciante just aint perfect..

  • Navarro has just a different style of playing, this song is pretty good.

  • one hot minute was amazing! i'd rather listen to it than by the way!

  • cool song...first time i've heard it,

  • i know the song for a long time, but i thought yuo hava uploud a video, like the pepprs singing in a show or snth like that,bt ok.

  • one of the best songs written with dave navarro

  • Dioses...estos tipos son demasiado genios...son lo más grande de la música ¡¡RHCP 4 EVER!!!

  • NOYCE

  • komo no pueden sacar esta cancion en un cd esta wenisima

  • seriously, awesome.

  • this is a fantastic song

  • cool song! i need to buy the twister soundtrack now!!
