It comes from the word "Spanish".
Portuguese, Italian, French, Spanish are all Latin-derived languages.
So "Latin America" would still have existed.

I did some research and, apparently "Hispanic" is not exactly from Spanish descent. There used to be a kingdom, called "Hispania", it included modern day's Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar.
Looks like we were both kind of wrong, but still right at the same time hahaha.

In fact, Obama is in favor of $1,000 tax cuts for middle class Americans.
Now, Obama has talked about letting the Bush tax cuts expire on incomes over $250,000/year.

Actually Baz744, he is in favor of a $1000 stimulus check which is not the same as a tax cut. That would be a one time payment. Tax cuts mean that you keep more of your money EVERY PAYCHECK! I don't know about you, but I am in favor of having more of MY money to spend. So, don't confuse a refund or stimulus with an actual, honest to goodness, tax cut.

Raising taxes (expecially without cutting spending) would be very harmful to the economy, particularly at the bottom of an economic cycle. Not to mention the class warfare inherant in his tax plan.
