Deep Purple were a multi talented band, especially Mk2, every member was a virtuoso, they sold out concerts worldwide, and if not for internal disputes would have achieved even more than they did.
Fans still hold them in high regard and listen to the music, which by the way..influenced many other bands.
I would say The Artwoods had 2 talented members..one of which was Jon Lord.
The Artwoods were a good band but paled by comparison to Deep Purple.
Brilliant. Jon Lord had a lot to do with sound of Purple as you can hear here. Some times it sounds like early Purple. The best and most exciting keyboardist ever.
@QueenReigns1 Who was the other talented member?
I'd love to hear more sessions stuff - is there any??? Has anyone got any film footage???

The Artwoods were an excellent group - far better than overrated D.Purple!

Oh really...tell us how many records The Artwoods sold compared to the multi million selling Deep Purple,
Not saying this isn't good..it is, but to say they were better than Purple is just bullshit.

1. De gustibus non est disputandum
2. So one band is better than the other because sold more records?! You impressed me lot. Good luck
