IMO, YUI wouldn't be the one to stay behind..,

even if she was, she wouldn't have been in miaka's position because her PERSONALITY is different, her ATTITUDE is different, and if SHE WAS in the book there would be a different story......it wouldn't be the same. Because Yui is actually very intelligent and has common sense AND you don't know if she would make the same sacrifices as Miaka.....Yui is different from Miaka, so if she was the main character it would be a different story....yadig?

You can't really blame Yui for the way she's acting. She got raped when she came into the ancient world and had to stay for 3 months, then she realised the person she loved had fallen in love with her best friend, then realised if she had stayed behind she would have been the one in Miaka's position and then she also realised she had stayed strong and believed Miaka would come back for her just to find out she had come back coz she couldn't forget Tamahome. Poor girl...
