  • Is this a mod or the beta version.

  • AGREED!, It was pretty boring!

  • dude i remember the BETA that was freakin sweet!

  • This game is very fun when you start playing it with high graphics

  • In practice DirectX 10 doesn't excist. It's all marketing.

What you get is Vista-exclusive filters.

Don't worry, Windows 7 will be out by late this summer and you don't need to compromise between performance and silly marketing.

  • Dx 10 does excist

  • what recoder program did you use??

  • Fraps. Using version 2.9.2 if I'm not all blurry.

  • Can someone help me? When i play the game theres no smoke or muzzle flashes. When a bomb hits the ground the ground just turns black and stuff it doesent shoot up smoke and stuff. My computer can run the game with everything on high no problem so its not my computer. Im lost ne ideahs?

  • you might of scrached the disk slightly or it is just a programming problem and you may have to get a new disk.

  • If the disc is scratched then it would whine during installation. Sounds like the user is having driver issues.

Are you sure you've got a working videocard adapter fully supported for the game? And this got the latest drivers?

  • ya i got an alienware wich supports the latest drivers and the video cards for it. i got an geforce 9800 wich is a adaptable video card..

  • Alienware kinda sucks, but in either way.

  • howdoes it suck. it is the rated the best gaming computer in the world right now!!!

  • Wrong. Alienware is not a computer, it's a company just esembling computers, buying any standard components and mounting them in a costum chassi and overpricing them to the point people starts noticing them.

If you buy a Alienware computer for $5000 you can rest asured you can find the same computer on the street at around $850-950 as long as you just mount the screws yourself.

  • what ever just go and play world in conflict while i play company of heroes!

  • ... What does that have to do with things?

  • well company of heroes is 1000000 times better then eny game you will ever play in your life including world in conflict.

  • Blocked for being a kid, I have enough of you buggering me already.

  • Go to Nvidias website and download the latest drivers and there shouldn't be any continoued problems.

  • Ran perfectly at low, and looks good on low.

don't know about high but who cares? good vid

  • This game is awesome!

  • Im not sure,

if anyon here has this problem,

I have a core 2 duo oc'd at 3.5ghz with water cooling, ,pqi 2 gig of ram,

    nvidia 8800gts 640,and i m playing at 1280X768.

and,the game is unplayable.i get,7 frame per second!

    i did,a google search,and other people say,its a performance bug issue.any have this problem?

  • If you were asking me - I've seen a couple of users on 88-series cards having great performance issues, especially for the GTX. Try to download the latest Nvidia driver and try again (if not also a BETA-driver) and try again. On my 2900XT I'm not having any problems (7600GT in this video), rather high frame-rates on highest settings (1680*1050, 2xAA, 4xAF).

  • wortless, all hyoe for nothing

  • I think you're thinking about Crysis.

  • a cool rts:D

  • wow cool!!!

  • well i have an 8600gt and I can play it on medium/high settings with dx9 and still got a decent fps of 30. And even then it still looks amazing! Believe me you won't need the newest card to make this game looks beautiful

  • wow no lag!?

  • I have a 8800 GTS, Q6600 quad, and 2 gigs of ram, and vista, would that be a pretty good setup for this game?

  • For WiC AMD has the best graphic solutions - HD3870 even outperforms the 8800GT in World in Conflict in majority of cases. But your configuration will be more than solid.

  • i have 1 and a half of ram and a 7600 gt is that good

  • Nope. World in Conflict is Very GPU-dependent and doesn't max Dual-Core, or not even close to it. So a Quad-Core specificly for WiC is a waste of money - and shooters are always more CPU-intense than RTS:es since AI and other calculations are most often a bit more advanced in shooters compared to RTS.

  • Processor doesn't help that much.. depend..

quad core is a monster :) but expensive huh lol

but all dual core can play this game fine

    with a 8800GT , 2gb at low RESOLUTION

if high reso then will neeed Core 2 duo a nice one

believe me amd athlon x2 isn't bad yet. ;)

  • 8800GT and 2GB of ram on Low Resolutions? Not really. HD3870 is currently the best card for this game, and will become better in Crossfire and with new Drivers. I'm now on a AMD Athlon X2 6000+ and the game only utilizes 75% of one core and ~30% of the second, so it's very GPU-dependent.

  • aw k good i played this on high

was smooth , but lag etc cause 1GB RAM :(

I am trying to play those games are GPU dependent not CPU :P

    i have a 8800GT on a amd athlon x2 +4200..

    bottlenecks :(

  • I know it is GPU-dependent, now. As I was sitting on a slow CPU at this time I believed the performance was caused by that, but looking at the CPU stress later on with a proper CPU there's little doubt the CPU is any problem.

  • this game looks hard ..

will take a while for me to get good :X

  • Hi what do u mean when u are saying slighltly damaged from overclocking processor what happened?? plase tell

  • Two potential things: Either the multiplier accidently went down or the motherboard just sucked too much - I was totally novice at overclocking at the time, but I bet it was the multiplier that went down, so don't worry about overclocking would damage anything.

  • ok friend thanks for the info btw i have the game and i run it 1024x768 all max no shadows about 40 42 fps BIO454 so u don't need such stuff unless u want 1280x1024 everything max and dx10

  • Just play it on directx9!

  • although an 8500 will do fine...they said an 8800GTX was needed to run Supreme Commander on Ultra High details with 8 players...and thats complete crap...considering I dont have an 8800GTX!

  • Hmm,u gt bad graphics too.. I wonder what graphic card can support "very high" smoothly..

  • That depends on if you want to run it on directx10 or not.

  • I hope there's music to the game, it looked a little quiet...

  • No music in-game, yet. There's always disussions in the Forums about in-game tracklists, voices, etc. but there's music when loading map, when the game is about to end and all that - so when its a vital dramatic add then it's active, but not during the fighting.

  • Ok thx ;) I'll just use winamp then..

  • is there like, a skirmish mode?

  • yea

  • You mean in like? Visuals? Content? Or in what matter?

  • Sucks that the AI isn't smart enough to use its effective weapons automatically.

I didn't think the Mi-28 Havok was in use in the 80's.

  • This is a Multiplayer game, don't bother even setting up a Skirmish game.

  • lol all the specs.

you could put :OR, get an xbox 360.

  • This rig is old. But a Xbox360 won't perform good nor is the controls going to be as polished as the PC version. RTS on Console are always slow and bad due to controls and technical lag. Xbox360 even has problems with Command & Conquer 3 on High Settings.

  • lol xbox doesnt have 'settings' for graphic details for 90% of their games. its usually a pre-definded medium-high setting and especially high for HD enabled ones. yeah but its hard as hell to use the damn controller to play C&c3 i got pawned by medium repeatedly for a while. cos the cpu doesnt have to mess with the controller. damn. this is an RTT btw.. not rts

  • Ok thanks :(

  • will my 8400M GS be able to run this in medium at acceptable fps please?

  • Is my 8400M GS faster than your 7600GT ?Thanks generaldeejee

  • No, it is not. You'll see low settings on decent FPS at best.

  • such...foolish fools :(

  • this is what it looks like? i thought in the game your a soldier in combat

  • thats whta i thought

  • This game is awesome but its ironic how Tom Clancys End War has the U.S. and Russia at war in the future.....

  • This is the cold war. And the reason why USA and Russia would be in war in the future is obvious.

  • Will this be released on the xbox 360?

  • Yes.

  • Ah thanks. I looked it up right after I posted the comment. Should've done that first lol. Thanks though.

  • why do i think it's a Codemasters game?

  • What?..

  • Codemasters...the game developers...

"Colin McRae" , "Operation Flashpoint" ...

  • I know, but what do they have to do with this? They're not to awesome as game-developers.

  • well just because of that distorded voice in the beginning ("reinforcements are now available!") i thought it was a Codemasters game , 'cause the same voice is in the Operation Flashpoint , and in one other game i heard that voice again , and it turned out to be a Codemasters game again...

but maybe that dude was hired by the developers of this game :)...

but when the voice is distorded and under that radio sound quality effect , you can make a mistake probably...

  • I hope my comp runs this game even at low settings. But i want to know what resoulution should i run it with these specs.

AMD AM2 4000+ 2.1ghz with 640KB cache per each core

    Motherboard: ASUS M2N-MX

    RAM: 2GB Kingston DDR2 667mhz

    HDD: W.D 500GB SATA2 7200RPM

    GPU: 128MB 6600GT PCI-EX GDDR3

Case and PSU: CoolerMaster CAC-T05 with 430W Extreme

    Optical Drive: Pioneer 212D SATA

  • The videocard it considerably outdated for the game, if it's technicly supported at all - with a new videocard, 2900XT or 8800GTS you'll be able to run perfectly on medium/high like nothing (overclock CPU a bit and High would run excellent too). But you'll have to get a new PSU for that.

  • This look arwsome, think i shud be able to run it mediumish on my peice of crap

  • Cool !! i thought it was gonna be a first pers shooter game but yea this is cool!!! :D:D

  • wait a min is this a strategy game?

  • It sure is.

  • i dont envy those infantry, nor those soviet choppers. i'd try to suck the soviet spear heads into the town, and then smash them with artillery. those choppers are gonna be hell.

  • Choppers isn't really a problem, get some smoke if you got tanks and move into the town and your allies most likely have bunkered infantry there with AA-weapons or a Support class with AA. WHat's your DEMO usename? I'm Borka (ingame: [SMTG]Borka)

  • dont have the demo. getting the game when it comes out.

  • It's better to test the demo first, there might be problems seen in the demo you don't know about before you bought the game and by then it's too late.

  • For a second I thought those Abrams were German Leopard 2's, found it kind of odd till he said "Abrams reporting" and I went back to take a closer look.

  • How well would my machine run this game?

Intel Quad Core Q6600 (2.4 ghz) Processor

    3GB Ram

    nVidia 8800 GTX (768 MB)

  • You're not asking, you're just showing off.

  • which should be better for gaming :

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6550 processor,

    Asus P5N-E nForce® 650i SLI™

    2GB DIMM DDR2 800

    320gb 7200rpm 8mb SATA II hard drive

    GeForce 8600 GTS 256mb PCI-E

or the one i posted below?

  • You should have chosen to send me a note instead, but fine - the later should be better, becuase of the stronger videocard and potentially faster memory. But the AM2 setup might not be the best Right Now but there'll be innovative technology for the AM3 with AM2 backward-compability to make up to it by the end of the year. The AM2 setup is also much cheaper by average.

  • should it work good on full details with : AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ DualCore,nVidia nForce4 chipset,2GB DDRII,hard drive 320GB Serial ATA II 7200rpm,512MB GeForce 8600GT SilentPipe 0dB ?

  • I love how when you zoom up on the unit, you can hear them talk to themselves/ gunners.

  • yes, if u have a 5400+ video card(nvidia series)

  • It's technicly supported but won't run the game more than pretty much just start up. The demo is out as well.

  • this game kicks buttay its so awesome

  • It's a tactial nuke.

  • I Have a Intel Pentium M processor

    504 mb ram

    will this game run?

  • Probably not, Pentium M isn't for gaming and 500mb is far too low for gaming, even just administrating. 1Gb is absolute minimum for gaming and 2GB is recommended.

  • Ill probably just buy a new computer. Mines a few years old anyway, and this game looks amazing. Thanks for the reply.

  • nope

  • Hmm i think this will work on my AMD 64 3200+, Nvidia 8600gts and 1024ram

  • It'll work, but not in a fantastic way. You clearly need a twice as strong processor and doubled the RAM to get a use of the videocard.

  • yeah

  • how do u know whether your computer is a dual core

  • You'd probably have to know since you did pay for it and won't buy anything without knowing with you bought :D Otherwise you can check it in the Control Panel and System.

  • Hey i should be the voice actor for the Russians, and the maps look fucking IMMENSE!! It looks like an aweesome game.

  • lol just checked my system with dx diagnostics test and I have dual core :D

  • This are the low quality settings...

  • DX10 doesn't boost any performance or anything at this moment, it only allows one or two graphical features in the game - but Vista alone consumes alot of power.

  • A great majority of gamers, and all enthusistasts has Dual Core - and there's about no single core systems to be found in any retailers. The video RAM has alot to do with the performance, all new games take advantage of the V-ram and that little ram both kills AA and AF capacity and kills resolution and the ultimate performance.

  • Then you have bad drivers. My friend on a 8800GTS 640mb (leadteks crap), 2GB of PC26400 RAM and a E6750 ran with full settings, 4xAA/16xAF perfectly. You should be laughing at yourself.

  • my ram isnt that big but thats what my paging file is for

  • Yes, the Demo will be Online - the games total focus is online.

  • Next month.

  • BETA is offline since first of August. Once the BETA was online the only place to get a key were at FilePlanet.

  • man it laggs with high visual settings

  • Read description.

  • Closed since 1st August. Demo will be launching next month, if that's September - I'm kind of tired, but it's out soon.

  • cool! but xbox 360 doesnt support DX10... hence the graphics cannt be nearly as good as the PC version. Besides my graphics card alond costs more then the 360 and as much as a PS3.

  • Consoles and PCs are way different platforms and is focusing on different things. And the Xbox360 doesn't support DX10, but if we're talking WiC it's not doing anything since the only true DX10 feature in WiC is the dynamic shadows from the clouds and dual monitors, that's actually about it. X-feather works with DX9 - we'll see DX10, but just on the paper.

  • Well not exactly, what makes the 2007 games unique and evolutionary (especially worlds in conflict) is the next gen of pixel shaders, 4.0. A DX10 graphics card is required for that and a 7950 cannt do dx10.

a nvidia 8600 or ati rx600 and better graphics card is required. I just installed my 8800 gtx.

  • Year 2007 is finally the year when the multi core CPU and DX10 graphic cards will finally be utilized.

I just ordered my CPU upgrade and installed more memory and a DX10 card. I am set to go !

  • So far when I've tried out some of the Basic DX10 tests (Lost Planet, Whiteout Ruby Tech Demo, CoH: 1.71, etc) I didn't see either a visual improvement or a performance increase - so for games like World in Conflict you'd really need a very light-weight Vista in order to really run the game since my copy of Vista Ultimate didn't work for playing at all, around 10-30% of the performance was gone.

  • for the first time i can turn on all effects and run at a ridiculous resolution... i've been bugging my brother to do the upgrade for me for months. it was worth it. the reason there isn't a huge difference in those games is because most people are still single core, dx10 gpu and all those games were made for them. we'll see dedicated dx10 games coming out soon.

  • No. Most of the people run Dual Core, there's about no gamer with single core anymore. A rising amount of gamers move to Quad Core already. Most new games for Windows XP have multithreading features, that can be added in a patch if that's the case - DX10 just optimized performance by increasing the data effeciency.

  • i meant most games were made for single core, dx9.

  • no I don't think Blacksite will be Halo 3 or Crysis it will be up there but not close to them. Remeber Halo is the best video game series ATM and Crysis is the new standard in Graphics and destructability. Crysis is also making AI incredible smart, and as a owner of Far Cry i'm def going to get it. AI was great in Far Cry they would lob grenades while one person went to get help they would pin u down the send troops around i liked AI alot more in Far Cry, then Halo.

  • I've tested Blacksite and it was very uncreative from the demo on the 360 to consider. It won't be close to either Halo 3 or Crysis on any platform, not in any way, really.

  • Sorry, the demo won't be out for atleast another full month. Looks like the Quake Wars: Enemy Territory demo (if there'll be a such) will launch next month or late this month. But WiC is more of a serious project and will be launched later this year.

  • is there resources,if not how do u make money, metal, credits etc?

  • You start with a specific amount of resources and a total income of resources, looks pretty much like 2000<16000 - you start with 2000 and after time those rest 16000 will tick in after time. Once your total 18000 is on the field they won't replenish until units die, it's a unique way to have unit caps without making it too obvious

  • I think I saw a Crysis (or likely Crytek project) for PlayStation 3 - but not Xbox360 as far as I know. But it's a PC title, I don't think a console version is going to be anything to have particilary as it's all about to see what DirectX10 can do - in terms of optimization compared to DX9

  • Yes, it's launching for the Xbox360 - if it's on the same time as on the PC or not, I'm not sure. But it will launch of Xbox360

  • Could this game run smoothly on an Nvidia 7800?

  • It would run smooth on a 7600GT if you're running with a high-end CPU, as it seems right now after the BETA(s), since the CPU limitation is severe in this game as it seemed a few weeks ago.

  • i bought an 8600gts and a new power supply, im hoping ill be able to run this baby w/ 2gb ram, 250gb hd, 3800+ Amd

  • i love this game i have played the beta and it was the coolst RTS ever but the beta is endid :( cant wait for the demo

  • It's not the coolest RTS to me, the Open BETA was far better than this, the Closed one but it still has to go over some detailed polishment alright. But it has enourmous potential to be one of the best e-sports game ever, I'll totally check out the demo and if things are as good as I hope for then I'll go for this Swedish art.

  • your cpu is choking ur gpu...

  • I know. For now I've ordered a AMD Atlon X2 6000+ which will get here tommorow along with a Crossfire-ready mobo and 2048mb of ATi Certified Memory - and I'll kick in for a Phenom series processor by the time they launch (AMD Athlon [64] X4) so until the demo I'll be decently prepared.

  • yeah the phisics of games these days is getting more advanced and you need a powerful cpu to handle all that.

  • Exactly, and what we see on the GPU industry is more standalone use of the GPU to render everything to free up CPU space - which is what DX10 and the new chips is all about.

  • yeah i have ordered a new system now, with a q6600 hd2900xt 2 gigs of ram etc will se how that comp will handle WiC

  • That wouldn't be any problem. My friend with a E6750 and a 8800GTS 640mb (Leadtek) and a bunch of cheap Dominator ram just punches the game up to highest settings in DX9 with 4xAA - it's more of a CPU-eater than GPU-eating as it should be to me, but we've just seen the BETA yet

  • strategy games use to be hard on your cpu, ie supreme commander which needs an oc:ed dual core/quad core to run smoothly.

  • Not true. Supreme Commander is just using very badly optimized... well, everything is very badly optimized in that game as it looks horrible - the developers there needs to die for making such a ugly yet super-tech-hog to game. Company of Heroes that looks FAR more better runs terrific on most rigs.

  • put the settings on max, dl a few mods, supreme commander has nice graphics, not as good as CoH though. the ai is quite badly optimized which is the reason it runs slow.

  • And the problem with the AI from what I've experienced is that it's so stupid it feels like I'm playing with a roadkilled christian on the other end - I think it's more of the bad optimization of textures that make it run slow, there's a few other games with wierd textures that looks bad and eats so much it's barely playable

  • well, on my current rig (laptop with x1600, core duo 1.83 ghz, 2 gigs of ram etc) supreme commander looks and runs better than CoH. my videocard even overheats when i have played 10 minutes of CoH which makes most textures disappear. also supcom has a very large game world compared to CoH. supcom doesnt need as good gfx CoH needs, but demands more out of ur cpu/memory.

  • I don't think the video card overheats, if it were then the laptop would shut down and wouldn't start again until the card has gotten back to human temperatures. SupCom has a large, plain world - green plains with trees based on 12 polygons. CoH runs fastic on my rig while SupCom barely works.

  • yes it does that. and the supcom world has larger and more high resolution textures than coh. units are high poly; many experimentals have 8k+ polys. the first person guns in crysis have 2-4k polys. and then i mean the first person ones that take up 1/3 of the screen. and when u have many high res textures goinging on screen with thousands, millions of polys its gonna go slow.

  • Larger textures yes, visually higher quality textures than CoH? No. SupCom textures is built in such a way they can't be used - they're there on the snapshops but you can't use them while actually rendering the scene since everything in the game is so rushed it's impossibly insane it's not EA Games we're talking about.

  • LOL CoH textures arent as advanced as the textures in supcom. what CoH visually does better than supcom are these things: lighting system, particle systme and physics. rushed game? do you even know what you are talking about? nvm, supcom is a better game than CoH.

  • I've played Supreme Commander, I were as far from impressed as I could possibly be. I was looking forward for that game but it just blew my mind how freaking awful and pre-pre-geneation it was - it did feel and look like a Windows 95 RTS just looking at all those huge bars on screens saying nothing.

  • ¨HAHAA you didnt know how to play the game did you. (hint: all bars mean something useful)

  • Mean something useful, yes, I've played a game before - but that doesn't mean there's going to be more bars than functions for them.

  • the information is useful. and u can easily turn all bars and shit off with an easy console command.

  • can you play as the soviets in beta, and is it like a skirmish mode and stuff in beta?

  • You could play Soviets, US and NATO. Rmemeber this is the first BETA - the second, polished BETA is just closed.

  • add other countries, warlords, dictators, rules of engagement, the UN, civilians, politics and naval and border clashes/crossings hehe

  • Yeah, and while they're at it, make it Civilisation VXX and just screw up the game and make it as uninviting as it possibly can.

  • World in conflict nuke

  • ftw

  • will there be a special forces like navy seal like in red alert?

  • id pre order this game not alot of stores will have much of world in conflict rather be the first one in the store to get it than someone telling you we are all out

  • I think it's usually better to get the game after at least a few weeks, so the patches start to flow. Even if this isn't a EA game, but having such bad experience buying games on launch-day from EA, or first month, I'd recommend to wait for a small while before buying it.

  • did you pre order the game

  • Your computer barely can support this game on High setting...

  • No shit. As this game is all CPU-dependent as it seems I won't be able to run it on High on my new HD2900XT becuase the CPU limits everything. But until the game launched I'll have a high-end Quad-core system with a HD2900XT crossfire-ready setup and Windows Vista for DX10. And the Open Beta made my 7600GT handle Medium settings decent, optimization becomes better for every update.

  • dude nice, seems like your all set, heck im still wondering if my video card can take the graphics, judging rom the 250mb i have I NEED A NEW ONE!!!!

  • What card? The HD2900XT? The power consumtion of the HD2900XT is around 50-70W higher than the 8-series - not a big deal since the card goes for ~$150 less. Don't listen to what you HEAR, have some own opinions and ideas.

  • do u need the pre order it just to play the beta

  • No, but if you pre-order it you can get an extra map for the beta and some other stuff too.

  • no, i downloaded it from fileplanet last night.

  • in my x1650pro the game runs fine at low, but i've put it at lowest cuz my memory and processor suck a little bit..xD

anyway, even in lowest the graphics are pretty much aceptable, and better than in most actual rts

    but thats my opinion:P

and ATI rulles, just like AMD, they might take a bit more to release stuff, but when it comes, it rocks:P
