  • so sorry

  • benadryil and claritin this is wut i give my white pitbull, it seems that this alergies come across many white pitbulls

  • Try calling Gentle Dr. Animal Hospital on Decatur to get the number of the doggie dermatologist

  • I have an APBT that had such bad allergies he would rub his face raw and chew his feet til they bled and he couldn't walk. I dematologist did the prick test and he was postitive on the majority of contaminents. He went on weekly shots that I gave him. In the last few years he'sbeen able to go off the shots completely. Every now and than he might need a benadryl. GOOD LUCK

  • my white pitbull has the same problem, especially in the summertime here in virginia.

we just give her a benadril and give her a bath every other day to keep her skin moist.

  • my white pit had similar issues, itching, red belly, etc. she gets natural balance venison & sweet potato (hard) food (no grain) and takes cephalexin daily. no skin issues, no smell, no itching. like night and day. still don't know what she's allergic to but she's happy and healthy.

  • This girl needs to see a board certified veterinary dermatologist. She could still have demodex as an adult. She can also have food allergies or environmental allergies. I manage a veterinary practice and I also own a white Pit. My girl is 3 and has allergies that require daily prescription antihistamines. This dog really needs a specialist, just DVM is not going to do it at this point.

  • I agree with scolman. cutie...hope he'll find a nice home.

  • Have you tried a grain free food, or even a raw diet? Often does wonders for allergy dogs.

  • Has she been tested for mange? Very easy test and an even easier fix! If that's not it, 2 things to try to ease the itching - topical jojoba oil and local honey (internal, of course) =) ICE is a beautiful baby and deserves a happy, healthy life!

  • Thank you for your comments. Ice has had Demodex in the past and has been tested for repeatedly for mange, scabies, etc. Thank you for your suggestions on all the topical treatments but the vets have not encouraged any of those treatments as they try to find out what she is allergic to - and boy is this little girl allergic to something. However we found that activity-exercise fixes a lot of her problems. She is going on daily bike rides now.
