  • @sekisseishi I get the feeling that the black rabbit is their version of god. (yes I know that frith is the sun god) but, in the book it says that he is seen as someone who makes good things, and bad things happen, as he sees fit.

  • may i ask y there is a blaco rabbit? what's it's role in the movie?

  • Why is bigwig so badass?

  • There we go! The mandatory song for the animated movie. Fits pretty good though.

  • I thought Hazel died

  • "Perfect Landing"

  • The Black Rabbit= Death

  • Keeehhhhaaarrrr :D

  • 8:19 those rabbits got fucked

  • The black Rabbit = Charon/Grim Reaper

  • Black Rabbit: the bunny version of Herobrine.

  • I love the black rabbits animation! Everyone says its creepy but I like it!

  • Omg look how tharn the Efrafrah rabbits look at 7:32. Is there anyone else besides me that uses that word in everyday life?

  • where da hell is bluebell!

  • I have been to the real watership down near basing stoke adn it is coverd in rabbits!

  • oh god, I am soooo trippin balls here

  • This has got to be the worst case of Mood Whiplash I have ever experienced. You go straight from "Oh man, Hazel's dead!", to "Perfect landing".

  • @xosupernatural91xo If you think that's a weird mood swing, you should see Bambi! Mom's dead and then flowers and birdies!

  • This was my favorite movie when I was a kid.. Bring up memories and tears.

  • 8:19

    I like trains.

  • @JSkunk22

    haha yes you do.

  • hell yeah motherfuckers shot that rabbit good

  • The bright eyes song melted my damn heart...my older brother got stabbed a couple summers ago...I was just as afraid that I might lose him...

  • Okay. Well now I can't stop crying... Its something about the innocence being robbed I see. The danger of the world changing their lives. This was one of my favorite movies when I was little and it makes me realize how the world has changed my innocent view on things. But when Bright Eyes started playing.. I lost it.

  • everytime i watch a part i get sucked into whatever time is left in the vid and the only time i loose focus of what im watching is when it stops.

  • why all the drama with the song if hazel has been shot but he isn't dead? o-o

  • frith's great messenger= the 8 O'clock to Bloomsbury

  • They really didnt need to shoot Hazel D:< it was completely unnecessary...its not like he was a wild lion on the loose..

  • @dancergal633 But wild rabbits eat veggies. Farmers generally don't appreciate that.

  • 3:12-4:30 WIN!!!

  • that black rabbit is creepy as hell

  • The black rabbit of Inle scares me but isn'nt that bad

  • @AcaciaWitchDog01 i know that, i included NIMH because theyre very similar when it comes to be dark.

but the difference that this was more bloody than NIMH, wich justifies the PG rating for this one and a G rating to NIMH, wich is unfair

  • does fiver have like a sixth sense or is physic or something?

  • @wierdogazebo

According to the book, he has prophetic abilities

  • @wierdogazebo yes.

  • Love this movie, truth, animated.

  • @beccal47 Plague Dogs is on her I have watched it recently look up on YouTube Plague Dogs Uncut Part 1

  • I love Plague Dogs

  • @LordManda2 u have to read the book to fully understand it. Like what the other person said, he is the grim reaper. But the story is that the prince of a thousand enemy's (forgot his name) went to the black rabbit of inle' tryin to save his people from starving (or some kind of disease) and the black rabbit tore the princes' ears and whiskers off before he believed that he wanted to save his people, and he saved them. So the black rabbit isn't a complete bad guy. He saves the ones who ask but i

  • I never fail to cry at the bright eyes bit... :'(

  • men will do almost anything for some tail

  • WTF was with that black rabbit sequence? Seriously, what was that supposed to contribute to the movie? Some techicolor shadow puppets are bouncing around? What does that mean? Its completly weird, comes right the hell out of nowhere, and no one ever speaks of it again...

    BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT! O_O

  • @LordManda2 The black rabbit is actually the rabbit's version of the grim reaper. That's why they say when he calls for you, you have to go because there is no choice. That's what I get from it, at least. And remember, this movie was made in the seventies, late seventies as may be the case, but I think the technicolor parts are more for stoners than anything. It's equivalent to the twenty minutes of lights in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Lol.

  • i told you i'd run some rabbits over

ya but with a train. don't you think thats over kill o_0

i know not the meaning of over kill

  • "Bright Eyes" that was the theme song to the TV series I use to watch on CBC. Good times.

  • The whole black rabbit/song made me tear up for some reason.....

  • Dam those rabits got fd up by that train

  • I love this movie. :'D

Except for that fucking seagull. xDDD

  • What was with that whole sequence with the black rabbit and the song...?

  • @sineta32175

It was about Fiver going after his brother, and not giving up on him when everyone else thought he was dead.......

  • I think the reason most great novels are depressing is because stories work best with change, and there's hardly a better, more powerful change than what occurs in tragic events.

  • I freaking love fiver.. he gives me hope:)

  • Fiver's just constantly on LSD.

  • @xChibiRockstarPupx ran it off, and the squeal was an efrafan rabbit....not the fox:)

  • What the hell did he do to the fox???

  • 8:20 was brutal.

  • @TheJinxedBlackCat13 "I was watching darker things than this when i was seven"

Well look at you mr big man.

  • Im sad they didnt chose the book´s version to this movie. Those of you who love bigwig-imagine seeing him in LIVE ACTION fighting a cat!!

  • Very Biblical. That's why it rings so true.

  • @TheIntruders Biblical, yes, but that doesn't mean it has anything to do with right wing ideology. While I imagine he's religious (at least when he wrote this) and not a fan of state socialism, the author is a liberal environmentalist. He was a civil servant responsible for saving the Thames river ecosystem and building the Thames barrage (the sort of thing Louisiana officials refuse to build because they think saving the bayou is socialist).

  • I understand the symbolism in the sequence where Hazel becomes leaves and they start dividing into many more leaves. It means he is destined to live and give rise to many more decedents after he has passed, just like at the end of the film when the black rabbit tells hazel that his children will be fine as will thousands like them. Which he did and I think each man should work towards leaving a long and successful legacy for future generations.

  • Whats the message in the "Bright Eyes" song?

  • did Big wig kill that fox? if so, damn.

  • Ohhh, "Bright Eyes". It brought tears to my eyes. I've not seen this film before, but it is rather good. Very beautifully done.

  • i love the movie but i hate the show because they made bigwig a dumbass...bigwig was suposed to kick the shit out of the general! dammshit!

  • @SwaggaBoyzKeepFlying really? i like bigwig in the show although the big showdown with the genral was dissappointing compared to the movie. still that bigbig was one tough rabbit in the series

  • im 12 and i have loved this movie since i was around 6

  • @Earthtail25 gtfo, heartless. What is funny about this film?

  • "berfic landy" 6:20

  • I agree with everyone--this is very dark and mature for a kid's film. But for some reason I just don't think it's that depressing...it has some very sad moments, but happy moments, too. Maybe it's just because it doesn't seem depressing when compared to The Plague Dogs...LOL!

  • @Azurewolf02 To me it doesn't seem depressing, just confronts death in a rather brave way.

  • @FrazzleAndTheWolf Yeah--that's a better way to put it ^^

  • man I havent seen this movie in like 25 years but this part with the black rabbit is just as awesome as back then

  • "i only survived because frith sent one of his great messagers"

me: "DAMN! thats on hell of a messanger! its a damn train!!!!!"

  • What a trippy music segment. o_0

  • i watched this after i watched felidea these r both exetremely sad, depressing and groosem stories but the storyline is so beutifully written and the music as well :D and thats y i ove thsese movies :D

  • @beccal47 If you haven't seen it yet, might I suggest "Plague Dogs?" It's a movie along these lines. I am sure that you will enjoy it. :)

  • @beccal47 You should also watch the Plague DOgs, fully available on youtube too, and it's based off another one of Richard Adams' books :)

  • @XxSuRrEaLiStSxX yea i should ;)

  • @beccal47 After you are done watching Plague Dogs, you should watch "Ringing Bell". It was one of the most bizarre animated shock films ever since it was marketed towards children under the age of 5. Personally, it traumatized me as a child and gave me nightmares for days...but it truly was the most beautiful story I have ever seen.

  • @GenericBeatrix i will watch, and mostly little skids watch it cause thye thought it was cute looking as so it aseems >:D

  • @GenericBeatrix Wow, Ringing Bell is SO overlooked I'm surprised you mentioned it!

  • Comment removed

  • @beccal47 felidea was better

  • @beccal47 Watch Plague Dogs too ^^* I love all three. I watched Felidae yesterday and Plague dogs straight after. Most people say they are the best animal cartoons there are. ^_^

  • @JewelTheMacaw well i tried to watch it but umm it was nt on youtube and i tryed to look it up on the world wide web but it didnt work either so waht and if you find a link give me it i would appreciate it :D ^^''

  • @JewelTheMacaw well i tried to watch it but umm it was nt on youtube and i tryed to look it up on the world wide web but it didnt work either so waht and if you find a link give me it i would appreciate it :D ^^

  • @JewelTheMacaw i watched The Plague Dogs awhile ago and i almost cried at the end and bright eyes almost made me cry. <3~* Beautymoon1000*~<3

  • @beccal47 you forgot about Secret of NIMH, the funny thing is, i think this film kinda inspired NIMH, as well felidae was inspired by NIMH in animation style and the atmosphere

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa ooo i noticed that

  • @beccal47 felidae is more black comedy,murder mystery,less depressing

this is a survival drama, just because theyre both animated movies for adults doesnt make them similar its like comaparing a microwave to a lawnmower

  • @a1b26600 not to be mean but will you guys stop replying >.< because some ppl are being a little like your wrong and stuff XD so pls in the nicest way possible dont reply XD

  • this ish very dramatic (like writting on deathnote if u no wat that is XD)

  • What do the Efrafans do to females as punishment? Christ, do I even WANT to know?

  • When I was little I didn't like this movie. I like it now (I'm 25 now) but when I was little I thought this was so utterly depressing and sad. I appreciate the fine artwork presented in this movie and love the story but it still makes me feel depressed inside. =(

  • OMG. I loved Hazel!

  • do rabbits really do that :O?

  • BIRD *flying all retared like* *falls on the ground* Bird:"perfect landing

    LOL XD

  • omg this is so much better than the tv series it's not serious :o

  • What the hell happened to the white rabbits at the farm?

  • Rabbits really are fighters; I used to have a pet buck rabbit who was just as flipping nuts as General Woundwort. He half killed the next door neighbour's cats, and attacked a puppy which got into our garden. The puppy just ran away howling. XD

  • @LaceNeilSinger sounds like my rabbit. we had a stray rabbit attack his friend when he got out. Danzig kicked the crap out of that stray rabbit.

  • Psychic bunnies are the SHIET!

  • who the heck shoots at a rabbit!?

  • @ShadowMaskTheCat farmers and people who go shooting..:(

  • Art Garfunkel singing to kids about death. That's what the 70's were really all about.

  • .... random song.

  • whoa. fiver is tripping balls man. whatever he's taking it's awesome.

  • @Raijuu234 tripping balls!!! lol me and my friends say that all the time

  • Hazel getting shot and the bird digging out the bullet is all I remembered about this film (saw it when I was four) certainly not the most pleasant memory but hey it made me want to watch it again...

  • the bunnies are getting some white bitches

  • 3 35 i cryed :(

  • Sad :( i was crying then the bird came and i laughed

  • clearly the farmers weren't growing thistle but marajiana and fiver ate some so he went on a trip that lead him to hazle

  • bright eyes burning like..... BANG BANG

  • Perfect-Landing ^^

  • See, Females ARE nothing but trouble. LOL Get shot just for the posability to get your rocks off/.

  • BUNNY'S!!!! DON'T KILL THE CUTE LITTLE BUNNY'S !! YOU BASTERDS!

  • Perfect Landing

  • dang every time i hear bright eyes i start crying XD

  • @PurpnSlurp My dad played the song and my rabbit's funeral when he died of unknown causes....he was like 6 weeks old and I refused to stop crying....

  • @SkylerTheWolf aaaaaaaaaaaw that is SOOOO sad :'(

  • omg, I almost cried :(

  • That is one of the greatest and well timed dramtic songs in the history of movies

  • 6:06, was that Hazel?

  • Cats to the left of me

Dogs off to the right, here I am

    Stuck in the middle wi-

    *BANG*

  • I love simon and garfunkel

  • @JESSIELECTRIK That song is not really from Simon and Garfunkel. Garfunkel sang it, but it was written by someone else.

  • Always loved the song in this scene

  • I forgot about how much I loved this movie as a kid

  • This gives me more goosebumps than Bambi

  • Comment removed

  • "Black stones" bullets

  • Even now, this song gives me all over goosebumps, This was one of the first movies I saw as a kid, it scared me a little, but taught me alot about life & death, how it worked and how to cope with it.

    Thanks for posting

  • The bird found a lot of does but theyre being hoarded by this pimp of theirs...

What about clover and the other girls at the farm? They abandoned them? :(

clover and her sisters seemed nice and im sure they dont want to be the farmer's dinner.

  • @AllAksion it's different in the book some of the hutch rabbits get away with them

  • at 1:52 hazel suddenly doesn't look like hazel

  • I'm thinking a shotgun round at a couple rabbits is a bit of overkill.

  • @Rauroes It's Britain, what can I tell you.

  • Part 6 and I still don't get this movie :S but nonetheless 'tis still awesome

  • Ah, still love this Song..

  • The kids back when this was made must have been shitting themselves royally.

cute bunnies getting run over, fighting and stuff. ima traumatize my future kids with this shit. :D

  • @TheChickenwang1 Well, I don't think it's that bad. I've watched the whole movie up to the end of this youtube video and I'm a child, it didn't frighten me.

  • @TheChickenwang1 This was the first movie I watched as a kid. Parts of it was startling to me then. But at the time I was growing up in a country setting that was very similar to the one portrayed in this film. We had lots of rabbits around and some owls that would eat them. It taught me a lot about life and death and how to cope w/ it. To this day this film makes me homesick when I watch it.

  • @TheChickenwang1 better than all that bullshit disney crap...making kids get all their hopes up, being fluffy and YUCK

  • @TheChickenwang1 i was just saying that. this movie freaks me out and im 18 years old!!!!!!!! its so weird! isnt this the movie they are watching in class in the movie donnie darko?

  • @XXHangmansXCurseXX dude richard adam's other book i saw the movie "plague dogs" i barely made through beginning sooooo fuccckkkkeeeddd up hes a good guy the author

  • @TheChickenwang1

)Drone. Drones are account setup to push up numbers they call them drones.)

  • @TheChickenwang1 That's right. I remember watching this as a kid and I expressed suicidal desires.

  • @TheChickenwang1 Growing up with this film took away my innocence and well and truly messed me up! hahaha

  • @TheChickenwang1 if you really want to tramatize them show them Felidae when there super young XD

  • @TheChickenwang1 I was a kid back then, we took it perfectly well because we weren't coddled to fuck like kids these days.

  • @TheChickenwang1 when I watched this "BACK THEN" I didnt shit myself. we actually knew how death and life worked. we wasnt shitting ourselfs like the kids now a days.

  • @devilsweetkiss I am 11 and I laugh at this so far 0.0;

  • @Earthtail25 I cried at this when I was about 6. How can you not? I knew nothing about death back then but I knew the atmosphere was sad so I cried. At 9 I was too scared to watch it because of the death. When I was 11 I picked up the courage to watch this. Now I'm 13, and I cry all the time when I see this film!

  • @TheChickenwang1

You're an idiot, you know that?

  • @TheIntruders - Where you dropped on your head as a child? - Shut the f*ck up you fossyhole!

  • Worst wingman buy best medical attention. Those damn seagulls.lol

  • Now I understand what kind of grass they've been eating...

  • Instead of trying to get does out of afrafa without getting killed, why didnt they go back to cowslips warren and kick his faggoty ass and take all his does?

  • @mercmarc i think it was farther away and some of them could get snared in the process

  • @yityatlvr I know it was part of the movie, but still would have been far safer.

  • I think ill land
