@mallynowens Just my opinion, but it's because true worship is in people's hearts and not in some location on a gym somewhere, or some stadium on a stage. And the idea of having people on a stage is to lead the worship. That might not always seem to be what it's like, but it's because we're not the ones who can look into others' hearts and observe the worship there.

For those discussing science and creation, realize that the Bible's approach to the beginning of the world is who created it and why it was created. In terms of the specific how, it's not clear except for the order and the time period. But the nitty-gritty detail sort of lacks. It never discusses how God brought life other than He took soil and breathed on it.
It's pretty clear in terms of order (are you talking about the contradiction between Genesis 1 and Gensis 2 that everyone points out)? And when I mentioned time period, the general gist of it is that there's no doubt that it's a recounting of creation, whether you believe it to be a factual presentation or not, its intention is to present a creation story.

We can't save others if we can't even save ourselves, but rather Jesus is the one who does the saving, and the one who brings people to Himself. Our role is to just act as witnesses.

i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi fig tree) jesus (many sayings about figs) ross horne's book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for 6 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone around the world.

And the idea of having people on a stage is to lead the worship. That might not always seem to be what it's like, but it's because we're not the ones who can look into others' hearts and observe the worship there.

For those discussing science and creation, realize that the Bible's approach to the beginning of the world is who created it and why it was created. In terms of the specific how, it's not clear except for the order and the time period. But the nitty-gritty detail sort of lacks. It never discusses how God brought life other than He took soil and breathed on it.

And just to touch on my last comment, just because you can prove something else could've happened, doesn't discount other plausible arguments until what you've presented is at a certainty level. And if the Bible does "rape" logic, then present yours?

certainly it does not. there are often many plausible arguments - and how are you defining plausible? evolution of man is plausible because we know how evolution works. We can watch it happen. we can see the evidence. Creation out of dust, in a moment, by a mythical, hypocritical, backward and contradictory god that noone has ever seen is probably not plausible.

I have professors challenging Darwin's concept of evolution and that there's only as much evidence to present interspecial-evolution. Of course Darwin's original concept of evolution is slightly wrong. the modern concept of evolution is not. Darwin had no idea how genetic information was passed along, for example - DNA was unknown so he had to guess at the mechanism.
It's clear you think "known to need adjustments" means "controversial"- fail - that all theories are in need of adjustment is a fundamental assumption for science.
The basic model of inherited traits, mutation and selection is undeniable.

Something I found interesting is that even a few million years is pretty short for the probabilities of ever single mutation to be exhausted to the point that it's occurrence becomes certain.
Again, science can't explain the idea of maybe deities moving behind evolution. And yes, there are Christians who believe in evolution as well.

The fundamental point of creationism is that it didn't happen on its own.

And yes it's their job, which is why I wouldn't take something like evolution through natural selection and mutation with complete 100% certainty. That's different from saying it's "not plausible", but understanding reality means always being a skeptic. Einstein's theory just got proven inaccurate a few weeks ago.

And as an artist, I like dreaming of an afterlife, and interestingly enough we praise those with an artist's mind when it comes to works of art, yet for religious people it's frowned upon.

i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi fig tree) jesus (many sayings about figs) ross horne's book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for 6 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone around the world.

Thought "God is real" decided to stop thinking & read the Gospel, it said: "Ask for the Holy Spirit" in Jesus name, I did. Said: "ask for the kingdom to come upon you." I did. Said BE persistent n bold, I said: God, give me a new nature, making me one with you so that I hate sin instead of loving it as I do." Said it louder each night in Jesus name. Few weeks later I awoke feeling love bursting from my belly, like a dream come true, I was NEW. Dreams of Christ, visions, revelations came. LOVE :)

It is not mindless to have faith that there's more to the universe than our eyes can physically see and our hands can tangibly grasp. What "believeforeternity" was trying to say is that God can't be comprehended or formulated in physical terms because He exists in a spiritual realm.

hmm, I mighty have a punt at this. but bear in mind that this opinion is gleaned from people who say things like "huh, a blind assertion is not a logical fallacy" and "the 2nd law of thermodynamics disproves evolution" and "you don't know how the universe started, therefore god exists".
It's the basic abuse of logic that gets most people - but for me, it's going further, it's the damage that abuse inflicts on society - education, personal freedoms, etc.

And if you want to give examples, try giving ones that don't prove your opponents point!... :P a freezer is not a closed system.. it requires outside energy (electricity)... otherwise, we know what would happen, entropy kicks in, and you get equilibrium.... melted ice and a freezer the same temp as its surroundings. In other words, useless.

I decided to be objective in thought, I decided this for myself and God came through, Christ is real as is the Holy Spirit and heaven within... you will die and see, hopefully God will show mercy because you stick to your theories rather than seek the truth from God admitting you need a new Spirit.
