  • man! Some people need to chill about other M and Samus being afraid of ridley and such. This is just a game people! Samus Aran doesn't even exist, like some other heroes that we know as example Superman, who is weak against a green stone. Samus is just a fictional hero that was given emotion to make her look real. Don't ruin the game for others that are actually wanting to just play the game and not focus too much on something so tiny as emotions.

  • @MrMetroid1998 she didn't defeat every enemy, including the first final boss. she also was very dependent on others' help to save her. in "humanizing" Samus she has become someone entirely different, in contrast to the stoic and battle-hardened loner we understand her to be.

  • @executableapplet Thats big F@#%ing lie only two times someone saved her was when Anthony shot Ridley to let her go and even then she still saved herself from the fall by regenerating her power suit, and when Adam temperarly powerlized her to prevent her from going into sector zero and helping him fight the new unfreezable Metroid, and aside from MB

  • @executableapplet Like I was saying aside from MB, and the first boss in the game she single handedly took down every enemy and bosses in the game and I'm sure she could have taken down MB and the Purple one eyed blob creature all by her self if the Galatic federation wasn't there, and the only reason she obeyed Adams comands for Authorizaiton was because he would never let any bounty hunter or outsider male or female on the bottle ship unless they did every he told them to do.

  • @executableapplet Incase you havent noticed Samus Aran need to rescued in games prior Metroid Other M, The intro to Metroid Fusion and near the beginning to Metroid Prime 3 Corruption when she and the other three hunters were incapacitated by Dark Samus, and following orders to use your own abilitys does not make you any less independent at all. Adam was just very strict about this mission and he wanted every one thats part of his squad or not to follow orders. Your complaints are meaning less.

  • @executableapplet Lots of heroes need saving in video games every now and again, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, Leon S Kennedy in Resident evil 4 numerous times and even Link from Legend of Zelda ocassionly, your complaints are pointless.

  • @executableapplet Oh I forgot to Mention, the time in Metroid Prime 3 Corruption when shes falling down a shaft and Rundus has to save her from the fall, now do you see how pointless your complaint is?

  • @executableapplet oh I forgot she needed help three times in Metroid Other M once, when Ridley was flying around with her scraping her against the wall, when a pre-adult Ridley had her pinned down and was trying to stab her, and when Adam stopped her from entering sector zero, but other then that she was totally independent in the game and I can think of plenty of times when Leon S Kenndy need saving in Residnet Evil 4 and at least once in Resident evil 2.

  • @executableapplet In Wind Waker link need to be rescued at least twice.

  • @MrMetroid1998 i can see why your messages are incessantly flagged. apart from your inability to complete a thought, I will argue that in those rescue events Samus could do nothing more to avoid a tragic end, no less save herself.

In short I will say this. In Other M, an otherwise independent and strong female lead, made "human", was deliberately given vulnerabilities which were sufficiently exploited, save to say all else is the result of bad writing to include accusations of sexism.

  • @executableapplet At least I'm not the one who failed to realize that Samus Aran needed to be rescued in games prior to Other M, like the time shes falling down the shaft with Ridley and needed Rundus to help catch her, and Samus Aran was still a strong and Independent character in this game, or the intro to Metroid Fusion when she lost concousness and needed the Galatic Federation to save her. There are lots of heroes thad could have done nothing to save themselves without help ore rescue.

  • @executableapplet All characters even strong and independent characters have flaws, your comments are pointless, your the one who can't complete fought.

  • i will leave you to dawdle in contemplation of what just happened.

  • Man you guys are really dense. The game is not sexist. It has extremely bad writing, which to the inexperienced critic would think it was such. And arguably that if some themes throughout the game were intentionally done as they were, they would indeed confirm many criticisms made by players. But such is not the case, as Mr. Sakamoto did not do an acceptable job writing the script.

  • @MrMetroid1998 Meaning to criticize Mr. Sakamoto and his affiliates for the horrible job they have done, and not the game for being horrible itself. We attribute that as one of Nintendo's rare failures.

  • yeah ya know you are the third person besides the entire IGN and a friend who thought this game was not

    fail

  • Ok, I'll be honest. Other M was the first Metroid game I've ever played, which makes me a no0b I guess, but whatever. I really liked the game, and having no previous experience with the Metroid series, I saw nothing wrong with its story line. Yet even after playing almost every game in the series I still love this game. It is one of the most beautiful titles on the Wii, graphically beating even Super Mario Galaxy. Overall, its a decent game that is not getting the praise it deserves.

  • This is the best review that I've seen so far on the game; It really hits on all the points of the game. I mean, most reviewers just tore this game apart for the weird aspects added to Samus's personality when there's a lot of great new gameplay mechanics and a somewhat interesting canonical story hidden underneath Samus's "daddy-issues."

  • I was frightened away from OM by its lukewarm reviews, and the scathing criticism it received from the online community. A few days ago, I picked it up on a whim. And really enjoyed it. I retain reservations re: the clunky dialogue and needless exposition, & the reimagined upgrade system (Adam must enjoy watching Samus suffer), but the combat-orientated, streamlined gameplay is top-notch. The game abounds with fanservice for Metroid fans. Not a perfect game by any means, but worthy of your 8/10.

  • @davenathan2002 Not being rude, but you really must not have played any Metroid games, because it is really far from being a fan game. Gone is the confident, stong-willed character, replaced with an oversexed, unconfident, bag of uncontrollable emotions. Her 'romantic' lead willingly sends her into death zones because he can (Hell run anyone?) and the weapon implementation system is laughable. Controls are passable with autolock, which turns it into a buttonmasher. Sorry about the rant lol.

  • @reddragon56789 oversexulized? I disagree shes been sexualized in Metroid games long before Metroid Other M, see the unlockable endings to all the 2D Metroid games for example, and she was still a strong willed character in Metroid Other M or else why was it only Ridley she fell into shock over? why didnt she fall into shock over any of the other enemys and bosses in Metorid Other M. The reason she fell into shock over Ridley was way more complex then you think.

  • @reddragon56789 Oversexualized? she wasn't even close to being naked once in Metroid Other M, and she's been sexualized in all of the 2D Metroid games just see the unlockable endings to all of the Metroid 2D games, they show her A@# countless times.

  • @MrMetroid1998 yes, she was sexualized so that fans could KNOW that Samus was indeed a woman. however there is a difference between sexualization and sexual theme. and in the images depicted of her in the 2D games, there is hardly ANY fanservice which would sensationalize her sex. Other M practically had samus running around naked, save for a skin-tight blue suit and an exploited Varia suit weakness where Samus repeatedly loses her suit on occasion.

  • @executableapplet She lost her suit in Zero Mission once.

  • @MrMetroid1998 once. it was never made a habit. insomuch the word "loses" only occurs once on the Wikipedia page for Samus Aran. goes to show you.

  • @executableapplet Lots of Heroes need help every now and again, in Resident Evil 4 the Village Cheif would have squashed Leon S Kenndy's guts out if Ada hadn't shot him, or in Resident Evil 2 the Tyrant would have sliced his A@@ if Ada haden't dropped the rocket launcher.

  • I can overlook her emotional points, as she lost everything except Adam and Anthony, which she thought she'd never see again.

  • I can actually let the whole insensitives go because she just lost her baby metroid in front of her eyes. That was very dramatic for her and that is why she has insensitivities.

  • @GamerNinjaX A big problem for me is that it isn't her baby metroid, in super metroid she goes after it because the space pirates stole a federation science experiment.

  • @lich109 understand this (even though that was a very good comeback), she lost her parents due to Ridley, and after she killed him, now hes back, right after he lost the closest thing to her family which was the baby metroid who risked its life and loved her, unlike anyone besides her parents. and this was before Adam Malchovich. and if I had to explore an alien infested planet all by myself, I would go insane.

  • @GamerNinjaX but this isn't the second time ridley has come back, in metroid, he disintegrates, then you blow up the base, he's back in super metroid, where he disintegrates and you blow up the planet, since other M is aligned with the manga (yes I have read it) she gets past the PTSD when realizing that she has to kill ridley anyway, having her go through all that again considering all of the above is character regression (a bad thing), ignoring past events in favour of doing them again.

  • @GamerNinjaX But it's the same baby metroid she gave up for scientific research.

  • @DarkEmergence lol I guess you have a point there. but it did risk its life for her after she turned it in.

  • where would you put this game if you created the top 10 after playing that? :)

  • You my friend should have done the review for this game when it came out, not that stupid bitch Morgan Webb.

You don't hesitate to point out flaws in the game, yet at the same time display the better parts of it and overall praise what needs to be praised. I respect you for that. I fully agree with this review. The game was awesome, if a bit weak at points and is definitely a game worth buying.

  • Also in metriod fusion it says that Adam is died so unless there was a Resurrection your time is even more wrong. sorry about 2 comments i remembered this after i posted the previous comment.

  • N1ntenOwned the game its self tells a different tale then what your saying if you watched the opening cut-scene then you would have realized that this game takes place after the third game. Who that's implemented is that-that big monster that shot the metroid was mother brain from the third game in the time line which was super so your time line for other m is almost completely wrong if the game was accurate. So sorry Nintendo messed-up the time line.

  • Once the story picked up, I could not put this game down.

  • THIS IS WHAT METROID 64 SHOULD HAVE BEEN!

  • The action felt like a hack 'n slash game, defeating enemies was a chore. The cameras were horrible, I hated backtracking. The game was EXTREMELY linear, the only times were I had to think I was over-thinking, and the solution was obvious. The story was extremely great until the immediate ending got side tracked into a weird plot-twist filled cliché ending. The worst part for me was the fact that the bosses weren't menacing and looked like pokemon. Especially nightmare :'(

  • Sorry i have to say

Metroid Other M is at same bad like Metroid Pinball

    I didnt like it.

It changing to much from the orginal Metroid series

  • @YATVZ Maybe you have different tastes in games then, I on the other hand enjoyed Metroid Other M as much as any other Metroid game, and I played them all except Metroid 2 return of Samus.

  • the items are fairly easy to find and it would have only taken me 1 week to beat after its releas date if I diddent have to deal with acouple of hard boss/mini boss battles.

  • you are the best

  • at least samus looks older than ssbb version...u have to agree with me...

  • if u ask me her voice and look were great, what killed her voice however was the dialog...they should've worked on THAT a LOT more...if she didnt say baby more than justin bieber cuz of bad dialog,i would not fall asleep(literaly,i did)while watching some cutscenes...the second problem is the stiffness and FPS VIEW WHICH SUCKS CUZ U CANT MOVE!!!other than that-great game if u ask me...the story os pretty good, but again-dialog sucks...

  • How to fix the HUGE MISTAKE of this game?

    Easy...

DESTROY Samus´s Ship in metroid 6!

  • @LiSo412 doing that would create even more hate to it.

  • is this what people called "metroid dread"?

  • @VAST56 no, metroid dread was a canceled 2D DS metroid game

  • but the final boss (queen) you have to admit it was retared you had to use the power bombs.Adam says no use of power bombs when he dies he never says oh those power bomb doors ya fuck it i ll die now.and the game never said use power bombs why did she not monologe for 5 hours about the bombs instead of the baby died ill never see it aigain it died sacificed it self ,the sadness of the babys death was sad.GOD

  • i still dont know who the deleter is one guy "fell" in a lava pit and the guy with the mustach gets killed by the queen but the guy with the glasses is "missing"

  • my thoughts: Pros: Beautiful Lab Habitats Ice Beam Samus has a voice and what else? Cons: i dont like the suits new look and the arm cannon (a pack is more than 1) yet the missiles packs are now 1 instead of 5 the gravity suit is a freaking purple outline? haveing to use missiles is a bitch especially on the Ridley boss and Phantoon only 3 sectors instead of six and no sector zero? the ice sector which was #5 is now #2 adam is a Idiot
  • hmm a good review ive seen in a while.

  • THANK YOU!! finaly a review that doesn't just call the game horrible because samus is scared of ridley!

  • That's a pretty good review. It's nice to see a review made by a well informed fan, istead of a crank head critic worried about to execrate the game by two expecific mistakes. THe Thunderbolt staff should watch this vídeo and take notes.

  • I liked this game a lot but the soundtrack was extremely forgetable expecialy for a Metroid game....... BRING YAMAMOTO BACK!!!

  • The reason why Samus is like this is the fact that she lost a metaphoric baby. She's also had strong feelings for Adam but she said that she left the federation because of an incident. When Samus came into contact with Adam, a lot of ghosts were there to haunt her. *spoiler* when Adem died she had some positive stress that her issue is finally resolved *end spoiler.* It's only natural that a human being like Samus to have stress in their life.

  • Please tell me the cutscenes are skippable because I want Samus to remain a mysterious ( but not too mysterious) badass bounty hunter.

  • @shionthedemon2345 they are skipable

  • Uhhh...you actually LIKED the scanning sections and the over-the-shoulder sections? They were one of the main problems I had with the game! I agree with your score though. Also have you read "The Elephant in the Room". It's a bit of a disturbing article but yeah.

For what it's worth I randomly dream about someone rendering Fusion, Zero Mission, Other M, and the manga as non-canon and making a Metroid game which happens after Super Metroid. If you would like to hear my ideas please ask.

  • @LinkMarioSamus I kinda liked the manga, definitley more than Other M's story. Fusion's was meh, ZM didn't have much story telling (which was fine). But I wouldn't mind pretending Other M never happened :P

  • @GregzillaGT I found an article on the web easily justifying all the events of Other M anyway. In fact, remembering back, Samus's "fragility" is justified in-game as well, but the dialogue emphasizes the relationship with the "baby" way too much, giving the impression that Samus is hypersexualized here when in fact she's simply trying to be turned into an "everyman" character. Not necessarily a good thing, but a far better label on the problem. I personally liked it though.

  • This game has no exploration and a terrible soundtrack and that is why I hate this game.

  • @kingkonz1 The soundtrack of Metroid Other M is pretty good and there is exploration in Metroid Other M, what are you smokeing. You have to explore to find energy tanks, missle tanks and bosses.

  • @MrMetroid1998 personaly I find the music forgetable. the only track I rember is raidlys theme. It was very good. Just my opinion

  • @N1ntenOwned nice review, but I disagree with one thing you and other reviewers have said; that Adam is a love interest for Samus. I think that he is more of a brother/father figure, and the real love interest was his brother who *spoilers* died in that cutscene sacrificing himself, and you see a picture of him and samus together with adam in the background. I agree though that samus was too insecure, but if this was the first game in the series it'd make more sense

  • I've played the demo for this in gamestop and I can't finish it. but its SO AMAZING!!!

  • She is following Adam's commands because she is in a Federation mission. Generally she is hired by the Federation to complete some objective so she can do whatever she wants in order to accomplish the mission, but this time, she gets there by her own and if she wants to join the Adam's group, she must follow Adam's protocols

  • i beat it in 4 days

  • This isn't the first time Samus has had a voice; she has had small bits of voice acting in other Metroid games and in Brawl.

  • 1:55 Is it just me or did the animation look a little bad in that scene?

  • You know, even though I really REALLY hate this game, I respect this review A LOT. You poked fun at the issues and didn't dance around them, you acknowledge the faults, but still point out the good in it and had fun regardless of some of the issues. This has been one of the most mature and fair reviews I've seen, I just wish more people could be of the mindset 'I like this game regardless of it's flaws' as opposed to the comment wars trying to defend the flaws.

  • Reminds me of your Top Ten Metroid games. Super Metroid had pretty boring gameplay in MY opinion, It felt so slow and I just never got into it, I was the same with Metroid 2, though I don't know how you put Zero Mission in the spot you did, you didn't even get power bombs till the end of the game, it was play for 2 hours, get powerbombs, then travel back and collect everything.

  • Sorry, I meant resurected.

  • In Samus defense when she sees Ridley, wouldn't you be slightly paralyzed by fear if you saw your dragon nemesis redirected, after you killed him violently, leaving him as a smoldering corpse. Also, traumatic memories of her past must have come up, with Ridley killing her parents in front of her and all.

  • @WisconsinRules1996 But that would take commonsense and empathy. Don't you know most angry fanboys possess neither of those virtues?

  • Very good Unlike X-play and G4, ps those basterds.

  • If you were to change your top ten list, would other M make it? and if so, what game would it replace?

  • *SPOILER WARNING* Do you know why Ridley is frozen on the B.S.L. Station in Metroid Fusion? Well, the clone of Ridley was killed by the Queen Metroid at the end of Metroid Other M, when the Galactic Federation came at the very end, they took the corpse of Ridley and Nightmare and took them to the B.S.L. Station where they get infected by the X Parasites and become Neo Ridley and Nightmare X. Note: Even before the fight with Neo Ridley you can see the gray Ridley corpse turning into Neo Ridley.

  • @themegashyguy Actually, I've found a strange paradox in other M..

When Samus arrived at the B.S.L, She and Adam have no clue about what it is and Adam died

In fusion... Adam was alive and samus had joined the galactic federation, two things that never happened in other M

So with this logic, we know that fusion can't happen before other M and Other M can't happen before fusion

Hopefully your brain hasn't exploded yet... if not, then yeah... PARADOX!@!@!@!

  • @neoman289151 other M happened before fusion its not a paradox samus worked in the federation at a younger age she quited then she became the most famous bounty hunters in the universe and the federation began to hire her on some missions

  • @jjnnerazor If that's true, then why didn't samus and Adam remember the BSL? and didn't Adam sacrifice himself near the end of fusion?

  • @neoman289151 adam sacrificed himself near the end of other M the B.S.L isnt the place where other M takes place other M takes place in the bottleship fusion takes place in the B.S.L get your facts right

  • @jjnnerazor *sigh* I see were gonna have to play PWAA here...

    Alright then..

OBJECTION!!!!! jjnnerazor, I believe you have gotten your facts missed up...

TAKE THAT!!! As you can see by this screenshot of me resuming the game, the game does refer to it as the BOTTLE SHIP

    Clearly, a contradiction

  • "REMEBUH ME?" great review.

  • hell yea i enjoyed it

  • The controls are awesome. Sure it didn't have an analog stick but that didn't stop people from playing games in the 80s-90s. Let alone games on the DS or Gameboy.

  • I loved the controls. I pwned both Ridley and Vorash without injury. As far as dodging goes, there are plenty of times you have to dodge in a certain direction or you will get smacked no matter what. I loved the creature interactions as well. Ripping wings off bugs, tossing enemies around, etc.

You're right about the bosses - they are probably some of the most fun battles from any game.

  • lol ok adem i have daddy isue and i sercetly want you so i have to listen to you

  • "Ok Adam, I have daddy issues and I secretly love you, so I have to listen to you!"

    HAHAHAHAHAHA Freaking Epic!

    Anyways Love Metroid Series. xD

  • seeing this makes me want to go out and buy other M even more than I did before.

  • Game informer gave this game a 6/10. WTF!!!

  • @Rajalae Game informer can never make an unbiased review...

  • Well, destroying all that crap leaves a huge impact on a person

  • Yeah, you've nailed it pretty well. It's a great game, but a lot of people are really nitpicking certain parts to death, and I'm no better (For me, it was the portrayal. I had hoped that they'd bring out her intelligence a little more, and while its certainly there, I felt it was marred by the immaturity). But yeah, it was a great game. Too linear and too short, but what you do get is fantastic. Good Review, man...

...I thought Adam's death was very bland, however. Should've died fighting.

  • My real question is why does Samus have blonde hair? Thanks a lot for screwing that up Prime (still an awesome game), purple hair is so much cooler and spacier. :) Not like it matters that much, just a personal complaint. I REALLY need to buy Metroid Other M.

  • So this game has nothing to do with Fusion right? Because then Adam would just be a computer who gives advice.

  • The good things about Metroid Other M is the music even though the item fanfare wasnt included it was still awsome especally the remix of Ridleys theme!

The gameplay is diffrent than any other Metroid Game in a really good way but like i said it would have been much better if they included the Nunchuck.

  • The first game i bougth for my Wii and a really good one! I would give it 7/10 or something like that cause what the hell you could have made the controls 10 times better with the NUNCHUK!

Samus was both good and bad. At the fight with Ridley it looks like shes kinda frightened WHO THOUGHT THIS ONE UP?! I mean Samus battled Ridley 3 times already and all the other stuff she has experienced its kinda ridiculous.

And Adam authority of the weapons -.- the Varia suit is a really good example.

  • I FREAKING LOVE Samus.....

  • N1ntenOwned But this game takes place before the prime series, so by the end samus does become the fearless bounty hounter from prime, that´s why her suit is cleaner and when she has the zero suit on she looks younger

  • @GuitarChecks It actually takes place after the prime trillogy. The Metroid timeline goes as follows: Metroid, Prime 1, Hunters, Prime 2, Prime 3, Metroid 2, Super, Other M, Fusion. Thats why I find it weird that Samus talks like a monotone barbie doll and looks like she's 17. I would have much preferred she had the more aged mature look from Prime 1.

  • @N1ntenOwned thanks for the info, and now that I know that it would have been better if her voice sounded more mature

  • @N1ntenOwned after completeing other m i unlocked it as a movie and i found that

    better than the game

  • You are the most forgiving fanboy I ever seen in my life.

Even if a Nintendo game sucks, you won't say so.

  • @dallasdollars7 The difference between him and you is he provides reasons for his opinion, so his opinion is a little more valid than yours.

  • @N1ntenOwned where does metroid prime pinball fit in? xD

  • @NintendmanMidget Probably after Metroid Prime... in Samus´ Nightmare... Lol

  • @N1ntenOwned I don't know, I thought Prime was trying too hard with the gruff realistic look. Atleast she looks a hell of alot better in Other M than the horror that is Barbie Doll Samus. (Echoes)

  • @N1ntenOwned actually she is like 18

  • @GuitarChecks

    (COMMENT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

Her suit looks cleaner cause the Dr's (doctors) put metroid cells in her suit..-

  • @jalcom

wait wasnt that in fusion which takes place AFTER other m?

  • @GuitarChecks see the official timeline of the metrid prime 2 echoes bonus disk

  • This would have been a good way to portray Samus if this was a prequel, but it doesn't make in this setting. Not activating her abilities out of respect is uncharacteristic of samus and unrealistic. Her having emotional attachment to the Baby Metroid is unrealistic considering the fact she gave him away to be used as a lab rat at the end of Metroid 2. I personally refuse to believe that this is how Samus really is in my mind this is a side story taking place outside the main metroid universe.

  • Dude is not the controlers fault u cant dodge and fight as good as u want, controlers are really good, like the fighting in this game, really hard core with the melee too. And the fire run, it was a short run, and every metroid series have a run through a energy degen area, so why is that a problem in here?

  • @Tesha1987 The problem is that this game would have controlled so much better with an analog stick, and theres no reason why they didn't use it. The Nunchuck would have solved a ton of problems with this game, and the fact that we're forced to use the Wiimote instead is a big issue.

  • @N1ntenOwned with a nunchuck it would have been more complicated, cause u just have to turn the wiimote horizontal or point, think about constantly turning from 1st to 3rd person with a wiimote in just one hand. Uncomfortable. U just think about the missile shooting with nunchuck, think about the whole game, nice review btw :)

  • @Tesha1987 The C button on the nunchuk would have been good to switch from third person to first person, like a toggle function... Or like in Mario 64 or Zelda, theres always a button to look at the environment in first person. The controls were not my biggest complaint with the game though, I can live with the controls... Adam on the other hand, nope lol.

  • @N1ntenOwned heh but ur changing the whole control style of the game :), and why Adam, his my best character ever. I really liked him, his a really good strategian and a good leader. And most people seem to hate him i have no idea why. I give Adam the thumbs down :P overall great review, like it, except for the Adam part (sry im his fan :P) but still funny things u said :D

  • @Tesha1987 people don't like him because he's a dull boring emotionless characters. I can think of much better good leader type characters from many other movies and video games that are far stronger charismatic leaders and who a simply more interesting and funner to watch. The fact that he object of most of the lone badass bounty hunter Samus Aran's insecurities and she basically becomes puppet for him doesn't help him

  • @jbee02 No he isnt emotionless, he really cares a lot about Samus, to even give his life for her (and forget his helmet :P). Hes an awesome leader, good strategist, and what do u mean by strongest, he said so himself, hes just human, by knowing hes limits it makes him even cooler. Shes not a puppet, she just follows orders, hes part of the Federation, like in the end with that bold dude, if Anthony didnt appear she would havbe done what he said and just left alone.

  • @Tesha1987 I never said he didn't care for samus or he didn't have emotion, i meant emotionless as he never showed any emotion. Not even when he basically gave his brother a death sentence on a mission. He's a boring generic leader type character inwhich you can find a dime a dozen just like him in movies, books or video games.

  • @Tesha1987 No way no matter how you look at it Samus was adams puppet, you can say she was just following orders, but she not a member of the military, she was a civilian and an independent bounty hunter who wasn't even being paid to be there, she didn't have to follow his orders. Plus as a soldier my self I know Samus wouldn't need permission to use her vara suit to protect from burning alive in the lava area even if she was a member of the Military.

  • @Tesha1987 I would do away with the fps view and add the nunchuck, Movement controls would be roughly the same but instead of auto lock on you'd have and aiming recital in 3rd person view and you'd point at the enemies to shoot them kinda like Sin and Punishment 2 only without the on the rails movement thing. I'd add automatic camera angle change when enemies are behind the camera out of sight in hallways that have the camera situated looking down the hallway instead of a side scrolling angle.

  • @jbee02 thats a l0ot of changes for controls in a game, see thats why the controls for now are ok, u people just change everything making it all more confusing. If u add the nunchuk more people will play it like a Prime game, which it isnt. . This is suppose to be like the Metroid series not a first person shooter.

  • @Tesha1987 i was just saying if i were to change the controls this is how i'd do it, i actually liked how it controlled. And i wouldn't put it into a fps like Prime in fact I'd probably take away the ability to go into first person view completely it was kinda of annoying. I'd add the nunchuck so you can manually lock on to enemies by pointing at them so i could replace the auto lock on which makes it a bit to easy, and make the game play experience seem more involved for the players.

  • @jbee02 but ur new idea sounds more tiresome for the arm. To have to put ur arm for shooting all the time, put too much concentration in the shooting and evade and melee attacks in second plane. But if theres one thing this Metroid is totally misisng is that enemies dont drop nothing, always when playing look around for some item after killing them, but nothing.... -_-

  • @Tesha1987 no not really not unless you hold your arm out while playing which you should never do when playing the wii. When ever you play a game that requires to point at the screen like an fps or on the rail shooter you should rest your pointing hand on you lap, knee, or even a pilow that's on your lap and it won't get tired. I'm not just making up these ideas I'm pulling them from games i've played before and thus i know they work well.

  • @jbee02 yeah ur idea sounds more like a sin and punishment style. But autolock on enemies is better. So u can consentrate on doing other things. Go check Other M review by knightwing01 he talk about what u just said and its a good review.

  • @Tesha1987 it's true it would up the difficulty of the game a bit but i still think it would have been more fun that way.

  • @jbee02 something is adding up difficulty by the gameplay and the way the game is and something diferent is adding it by changing controlers, this way it gets tiresome.

  • @Tesha1987 okay no disrespect but you should proof read your comments before posting them. I had to read it multiple times before i understood what you were trying to say. But back to subject, Adding difficulty to a game doesn't make it tiresome. In this case the game was a little to easy. The only time i felt like i was being challenge was during some of the latter boss fights. Adding difficulty to this game in the way i described would have made it more fun.

  • @jbee02 sry, i answer at night when tired so i dont feel like rereading. But adding difficulty to a game just because of the controls aint fun. They should have put a harder lvl of difficulty then. Not change the controls.

  • @Tesha1987 Besides, the game was made like that because the designer wanted to make it seem like the nes controller

  • @Tesha1987

it could of had the same controls as MP3

  • @LegendarySilverWolf Then it would be another Prime game. I got all the Primes and are awesome. But still controlers for Other M are easy and cool. Donk know whats the fuzz about it.

  • @N1ntenOwned I don't agree. The controls worked beautifully in my opinion. The only major flaw was switching from to first person view, which took getting used too but even then once i got nack of it wasn't a big issue. My two biggest problems with this game is how they potrayed Samus, the level design was too linear, and music soundtrack wasn't up to the series standards set Super Metroid and the Prime series. It just didn't feel like a Metroid game to me. Good action game but bad Metroid game.

  • For once someone else besides GT has given it the review it needs! It does not deserve a 2 out of 5 (G4's review)

  • I read the video description!

  • when is a new great video coming put i love this videos

  • my wii wont play it =(((((((((((((

  • My third favorite series is Metroid but I don't actually own a Metroid game.

  • im a hardcore metroid fan and i think this was the most disappointing game i have ever played in my life... i hate the other m.

  • Good review. I personally hated the game but it was well written and you established your points well. But one thing I have to disagree with is the combat. It's too simple. I was able to get through pretty much the entire game by just holding auto target and hitting the fire button.

  • I had to look away from this video and just listen to the audio but I totally agree with this review. Thank you for this.

  • lol damn you adam and varia suit

  • i read the desripcon

  • Looking forward to playing this. seems like from the comments that you can deduce many diffrent things from how the story is told and evolves. Awesome review that actually didn't have any spoilers, like so many others have, ty =)

  • Sweet! Great review, Man. Can't wait for those top 10 lists too.

  • You made me want this one!

  • + All metroid games are linear but they give you the ILLUSION that you are able to go whenever you like. Even fusion and primes guided you but its maps prevented you from knowing in which room you should be looking for answers. Othe M just kept me wanting more.....

  • Metroid fan boy here. The only problem with other M is its difficulty level. and i dont mean the battle system and the simple controls, i mean the exploration part and the map layout of the bottle ship. Sure its big sure its lonely and complex but you go through it by checking its room twice cause you know you are going to progress from this point.

  • you do good videos! thumbs up

  • Reimagineing of Fusion my ass...it IS Fusion. Which isn't a bad thing...but Fusion was still better.

  • For the people say Samus has the right to have a "breakdown", shut up. Samus is a strong willed character and has fought so many foes she should be stronger than they represented her in this game. Even if Nintendo wanted this to happen it was done in the most generic whinny anime girl way possible. Or a better question is that why Team Ninja? WHY? They killed the Ninja Gaiden series and DOA! Why one of the gaming industries most popular franchises?

  • i finished this game in almost 12 hours

    at 83% but even so

    it was sooo freaking awesoooomeeee!!!!!!

  • they f'd up space jump in this game though like 2 jumps for height thats it thats kinda gay but this game is INSANE i love it im at 97% item almost there!

  • OK... an orphan raised by some sort of bird-like creatures, that lost his baby (....metroid), her worst nightmare comes back to life every single game, DESERVES at least 1 psychological issue...

  • Glad to see another review up! Great video! Love the analysis! :D

    Keep up the good work!

  • I like these reviews. I subscribed for your Top 10s, but damn this is cool. You add your own zany characteristics to the review. Good Job.

  • nice review im always happy to s
