@bloodcorer very good question... yes and no... if you play without nails you will sacrifice alot of volume and projection. You will also limit your ability to use alot of cool tone color and dolce versus ponticello sounds. I have played with nails for years and could not imagine not using them. Something people probably don't realize on here is that Edgar uses Acrylic nails (not his natural ones) which sacrifice some of the tone but I am sure allow him to play about 200 concerts a year or so!!
