  • Absolutely mad! First time I heard it it sent shivers down my spine throughout. An extatic cathartic emotional frenzy which is bound to touch in some way everyone that listens to it. If you're left unmoved (in one way or the other) after listening to this song it means you have no soul.

  • I've never heard of Simon Finn playing in S.F.,CA, but if he ever did I would be one of the first to purchase tickets to hear and see him. This dude is brilliant.

I play this over and over.

Among his other songs but this just sticks out as if meant to be heard.

Yes, this is what is meant as well by: "Did he imagine at that moment, 200 million hypocrites would praise his name?" & "And were he now to come down, those hypocrites, they would cruxify him again!"

I dont think he's mocking Jesus, i think he's saying that organised religion misunderstands Jesus' message. The whole of the album this is on (which you NEED, by the way) has many references to Christianity, and not in a mocking way, in a very sincere and emotional way. The music itself is quite chaotic and i think that can throw you. Im an atheist btw so i have no reason to defend Jesus. Its just a great song by an amazing songwriter.

  • Love this song and album...

Harrowing is the right word I think.

  • one of the greatest songs ever recorded

  • My all time top 5 songs (in accurate order):

1.Nancy & Lee: Some velvet morning

    2.Arthur Brown: Fire

    3.Simon Finn: Jerusalem (!)

4.Einsturzende neubauten: Stella Maris (Also the Soulwax remix)

    5.Judas Priest: Turbolover

I mean, songs like this: One in a million. Amen.

  • I supported him in poland :)

  • "did he imagine at that moment 200million hypocrites would praise his name? And were he now to come down those hypocrites would crucify him again."

  • Jeez, not hard to see why David Tibet loves this guy so much!

  • We all would crucify him again

  • What the hell does this song have to do with a Japanese cartoon? Weird.

  • feels good man

  • @InfrangibleChain What does anything have to do with anything? And if everything actually had something to do with something, what would the point be anyway? Why are we here? Is there really such a thing as meaning or coherence?

  • Love this song.
