What's amazing is that they had just played an awesome show in Cincinnati the night before. I don't care if they are playing the same setlist, I will go see them every chance I get.
@mistamungy I saw them for the first time at the mile high fest too last year and I loved the interlude, just wanted you to know your weren't alone there buddy.
anyone know what songs they did? I know they started with Jambi, played Lateralus, Stinkfist, Schism, Vicarious and I think there were one or two more that I didnt recognize.
there are zero words that could even come close to describing this band, ive seen them 3 times, flawless everytime. wish that they would change the setlist up a bit (not complaining) i would just like to see songs like the grudge, ticks and leeches etc. best band in the world!!!!! DREAM SETLIST: #1. the grudge #2 stinkfist #3. the patient #4. parabol/parabola #5. ticks and leeches #6. pushit #7. H #8. aenima #9. opiate #10. lateralus and maybe a third eye encore!!!! :)
This years Lollapalooza was actually my first and Tool was my first mosh pit experience and it was AWESOME! even though I was almost knocked out 10 seconds into it.
AMEN dude! i wasn't there, but i saw another TOOL show back in 2006 i had pretty much the same experience, i call it TOOLgasm :] as you said un-fucking-real show, BEST music experience of my life.
thats a bold statement. u know there are three other members right? maynard doesnt even write the lyrics till he hears the music. Maynard isnt even half of tool. i practically worship the guy but lets not discredit the rest of the band
So I comment a lot because I was so happy to be there but ... when he says "I'll keep digging.. til I feel something" pretty sure I just have a convulsion and.... ummm an orgasm and... fuck.
I am still so thrilled they played "Flood" at this show. unreal.
fuck yah!! seeing them next saturday in pomona,ca. playing with alice in chains. 1st time since 1993 seeing Tool, and get to see AiC with them again too. Just like Lollapalooza 3!!!!!!
uhm...you obviously weren't very close to the stage :D.Yeah people will be nice where you are...but where I was? not getting shoved...wasn't an option. At all. You could hardly breathe but oh god was it worth it.... unforgettable....
HUGE TOOL FAN, disappointed in the overall performance. Light shows are cool for an intimate setting, but I wanna see Danny Carey kill it on the drums, not going to happen with no cameras and 40,000 peeps. Could have been much better.
Pretty sure this was an amazing show and I don't see what you're complaining about. It's a homemade video, not professional, we're lucky we can even see Maynard honestly, with the hordes of people that were there. I was there, they put on an amazing show, go watch Flood if you want to see Danny Carey rape his drum set (or just listen). Maynard seemed like he even got into shape a bit for this show, and he started out in back as a shadow but ended up coming out which was nice
im glad you had a good time, i was making my way through to the front through out coheed and cambria, then rise against and i was soo close then the stupid mother EFfers shoved and stepped on me and then took my bag and through it in the crowd so i had to get to the security fence area and get picked up and then moved a lot further away....but at least i got my bag back and got to see Tool anyway...i drove 6 hours to see them, so i didnt give a f
I love Tool's music, but let me just say one thing: I'm glad I went to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's show on Saturday. Light shows are cool, but I like to see people do things. On top of that, I like to see the band that's performing. Maybe we should all go listen to Tool in a dark room by ourselves like it's meant to be heard.
cgray,I understand you're a bit bent out of shape cause I bashed one of ur favorites. But know,I do understand Tool.I've been to a couple of their early gigs back in the day and they used to kill it live as far as energy goes. The most recent time I saw them I felt like I was listening right off the CD,which for me is not what I think a live show should be.If that's the case I rather be in my room with the lights turned off on a lot of drugs listening at top volume.
Maynard's like 46 now... my hunch is he probably doesn't dance like he used to because it gives him back pains from all the years he spent bent over and tweaking out on stage.
I'm so glad I went. It was my first tool show and I've been waiting since I was pretty little to see one of their shows. Anyone else reading these comments who was there will know how great it was. Best thing is: I don't have to explain all the great moments like I must to my friends. Maynard and I are both just anguished because we missed the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Great quality video, it almost does Justin's tone justice. It has a better view of Maynard too than I but I had ok sight of all 4
It's a fuckin show LOL if you want polite go to a concert hall and sit in a chair and listen to Mozart.
god damn im so sick of this younger generation bashing the mosh and dancing, shit you are at a concert, it has to do with expression, not stereotypes or worrying about what other people think. get over ya selves.
I'm not talking about dancing & moshing. You can dance & mosh without being a total dick. I'm talking about being an asshole for no good reason.
The problem with Lolla is there are a lot of douchebags who go to get wasted and party and say they were at Lolla without giving two shits about the music. They come in groups of six or seven and shove people down to get to the front by the stage only to talk loudly through the set so everyone around them can't even hear the band.
Greatest show I've ever been to. I've heard people say how seeing TOOL is an 'experience'; now I'm one them. It was awesome before they came out the crowd was chanting, "PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE!!" Friggin amazing.
Polite Crowd? In my section 30-35 yards from the stage directly paralell to it, EVERYONE had to shove to keep their spot! I did and it was worth it. Does anyone remember the "I smell Marijuanna!" quote lol! HAHAHA
Polite? I cant see from the vid where you were. It was illmatic up at the front. i was two people away from the rail on the left side. for about 30 minutes i was completely off of my feet. It was awesome nonetheless
this show was awesome! and i agree with the polite crowd. i saw rage against the machine last year at lolla, and i was pushed, shoved, and came out with bruises. the tool crowd was alot more friendly
For real, the crowd at Tool was so much better, overall, than Rise Against. It was amusing for a minute, but having to keep pushing back a pit to keep my spot is not my idea of fun. I can take packed in and begging security to pour water on me, as long as people are being decent to each other...
dude im sooo fuckin pist i missed this shit! .. FUCK! i love tool .. anyone know if they have an upcomming concert here in chicago? im a fuckin panzee for missing this = ( lucky people lol
We jumped around like 745, right by the pot-o-shitters to the right of the budwieser stage. We did recon the perimeter for an hour and a half before jumping.
Awesome show, once I moved to the right front and away from the crazy pushing - I'm a big dude and I swear to God I though I was going to get crushed - Ended up moving to the right by the rail - right in from of the lollapalooza banner. Great show - the people around me were true tool fans - no like those stupid rise against fans. I only had to f-up 3-4 people who tried shoving or starting mosh pits. You can't just start a pit in a crowd of people who just want to listed and enjoy. a-holes.
tool was amzin..did anybody see those 2 fags for coheed? they were pissing me off so much...one was obese and wore like a orange hat on and the other was a skinny bitch
That riff that Adam Jones played into the 2nd verse was amazing! Totally didn't expect that!
Some dickhead was on ecstasy next to us and wouldnt A) shut the fuck up and B) stop calling his dbag friends in San Francisco to let them listen to the show and the subsequently have loud/retarded conversations. What the hell, dude?
Its funny how people can claim to be fans of a band and NOT GET ANY OF THEIR MESSAGES. Stop being a dumbass.
yea i met some real assholes at rise against and they told me they were rise against fans, which i felt explained everything. we moved by some tool fans and to the right of me people were just munchin on shrooms, in front of us were diehard tool fans that wanted to enjoy the show along with us, and behind me more chill ass tool fans. tool kicked so much ass, best show i'd ever seen. Although these videos are good for nostalgia, they will never do the justice of the actual show. i was painted.
not much moshing during tool. everyone was real chill where i was right in front of that sound stage. loved every minute of tool and there was some guy next to us video taping the whole thing. id love to see that sht on here. thanks for posting. maynard is my new best friend lol.
I was at the 2016 stage since Atmosphere went on and due to the lack of hydration I never had to piss so i was at the front on the right side of the middle fence and there was non stop moshing during all the tool songs. Had a great time!
I was the first one to get in line that day at 8:00 am. First one to get to the stage too... It was about 11:15 am.The pushing, crowd surfing, thirst, hunger, sun, sweat... It was all worth it.
front row baby.. had to wait in my spot from 11:30 that morning.. but i was worth it with getting to see some other good shows as well up close.. coheed was great... rise against was good (not a fan) but after 8 h.5 hours of standing it was worth...like 15 people blacked out of front and a few had seizures
The 3 dislikes got STINKFISTED by Maynard...

You can't just start a pit in a crowd of people who just want to listed and enjoy. a-holes.

So true the rise against fans were a bunch of goddamn retards.

The Sears Centre show was better. They need to come back to that place. The sound there is the best.

Also like how the first-timers who were singing along got "confused" when they went with the extended part. I'LL KE....what the fuck?"

Awesome show. Drove 8 hours there, and 8 hours back after the show.
Some chick blacked out next to me before TooL came on. She was fucked up. Hope she got to see TooL at least.
Did anyone else notice the Passage to Bangkok tease before Rosetta?
What a tease

That riff that Adam Jones played into the 2nd verse was amazing! Totally didn't expect that!
Some dickhead was on ecstasy next to us and wouldnt A) shut the fuck up and B) stop calling his dbag friends in San Francisco to let them listen to the show and the subsequently have loud/retarded conversations. What the hell, dude?
Its funny how people can claim to be fans of a band and NOT GET ANY OF THEIR MESSAGES. Stop being a dumbass.
Tool is much better on Acid anyway.

yea i met some real assholes at rise against and they told me they were rise against fans, which i felt explained everything. we moved by some tool fans and to the right of me people were just munchin on shrooms, in front of us were diehard tool fans that wanted to enjoy the show along with us, and behind me more chill ass tool fans. tool kicked so much ass, best show i'd ever seen. Although these videos are good for nostalgia, they will never do the justice of the actual show. i was painted.
