Look, do you want to know the easiest way to convert MKV files into whatever file type you want?

It is so simple, just open the MKV in windows live movie maker, then save it as a wmv file, from there you can use any basic converter to make it whatever file format you want.

I know, I felt stupid after spending an entire day on the internet trying to figure this out when it was this simple.

i can convert the .mkv files fine into whatever i want, but recently all the .mkv files i download come with a .nfo file which i assume is the subtitle because it is titles exactly the same as the .mkv. Okay, so problem is iSkysoft wont pick up the .nfo as the subtitle. tried changing the extension from .nfo to .srt. any suggestions?

Hi, to seperate mkv file and the subtitle, go to "edit ", " subtitle ", uncheck "enable the plug-in subtitle.

You are right. This tool is a trial version which will leave a watermark unless you buy it then you get the full functions.

Actually, every conversion is a hit to the quality, but I would say it's within acceptable range.

You see, I convert my mkv files (29 fps, 640*480, 1500kbps) to avi and keep the original settings, it comes out slightly different to the mkv file.

You might give it a try to test it.
