  • Neither God nor Jesus would allow Jesus to die on a pagan symbol ( a cross) it breaks the 2nd commandment (google it) so why do all the false religions use a commandment breaking cross in their worship? Because it is one of many things that helps promote their hidden agenda to keep you hooked, feeding them money to promote their agenda of breaking the 2nd commandment..in other words, any religion that displays the use of a cross MUST be displeasing to God...Jesus said, "I never knew them".

  • hahahaha!! how you can understand the bible you're a robber like the PROFIT mohammad.

    the best preacher ever

  • They simply needed covert babylonian association. The cross is the cross of Tamuz

  • rubbish

  • I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and our issue with the stake vs the cross is not so much WHAT Jesus died on, rather the fact that people WORSHIP the cross and venerate it which is the true sin. Idolatry in its best form.

  • Okay, so I believe Jesus died on a stake, but why is it important what he died on? If the bible says not to use images in worship, then DONT! Simple.

  • Let's see, Bart Ehrman, bible scholar, wrote a whole book about contradictions and errors in the bible, 280 pages worth. (Jesus, Interrupted). So the bible is not the word of God after all. Carlton Pearson also says the bible is man's word about God. Time to stop worshiping the bible and find a better source of information about God

  • @k0smon im just thankful bart ehrman came and wrote a book or wed all be lost. lol and 280 pages 279 and wed know he was lying. and then to top it all carlton said.. lol how much is said books im thinking of getting a better source? lol

  • @AharonBenYsrayl ::: Between the 'lol's, it is hard to decipher what you are trying to say. Are you saying anything other than just name-calling?

  • @k0smon sarcasm, because these men said it, sells it, that makes it true. only thing true is he got paid. anyone who takes any time to study the scriptures will know its truth. one thing you will find out for sure is that it is. for you will die.

  • @AharonBenYsrayl ::: Since someone told you the bible is the word of God, did you just automatically believe it? You studied it for yourself and came to your own conclusion. I did the same with Bart Ehrman and found his reasoning much more credible than the bible's. For example, which story of Christ's birth is the correct one? Matt or Luke? They both can't be correct (unless he was born twice) because Herod and Quirinius never held office at the same time. Many contradictions..

  • @k0smon are you sure they both cant be correct? he had a mother and earthly (step) father and they both had a lineage. or am i missing your point. what is wisdom to men is foolishness to YAH the father. you havent studied what man says is a lie. you made a decision listening to a man looking for a check and ignored the father. i got a feeling that wont work well for you. if you want to understand something you must study it for yourself.

  • @AharonBenYsrayl ::: Yep, you missed the point. It has nothing to do with lineage. It has to do with the record of the time of the birth of Jesus. Me ignore the Father? Absolutely not. I will ignore Jesus whose story I am assured is false, but recognize the Creator, the heavenly Father as the only true object of religious worship.

  • @k0smon I dont see a discrepancy in the timeline. but anyway I believe in the messiah but i ignore jesus as well. totally made up image, nationality, name. the messiah is who is dealing with the prophets. but i see you believe the jewish doctrine i understand where you coming from now.

  • @AharonBenYsrayl ::: The discrepancy is that they both cannot be true. One or the other, or neither. Herod was no longer king when Quirinius was governor.

  • @k0smon hmmm interesting. i need to read that. thanx

  • Why would Romans even bother making a cross if after all it's easier to use a wood plank to execute same results & simpler

  • By the way if jesus died on a cross then why do people carry them around? i mean if your sister or family were shot would you carry a gun symbol?

  • @monstered66 Luke 9:23 :"Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their CROSS DAILY and follow me. "...A cross is a cherished symbol of atonement, forgiveness, grace, and love. If you sister or family came back to life and told people to carry a gun symbol and follow her/them, then you can give this ridiculous analogy.

  • @jojoneli76 sorry, no such word as CROSS in the bible..its totally pagan..Jesus wasn't implying carrying around a literal 2nd commandment breaking implement of death on your shoulder..don't be silly. Google the cross, it came about in a dream to constatine..he adopted it into the catholic religion in order to hook pagans into joining the catholic church..the pagans didn't want to give up their crosses just like none of you do..nice huh.

  • @FXNorm Newsflash, the Romans who crucified Jesus WERE in fact PAGAN. Also Stauros also means cross and there is enough evidence to prove that Jesus did in fact die on a cross. I know he wasn't implying that to carry around a cross but because of verses like that the cross became a symbol of that sacrifice. "the pagans didn't want to give up their crosses just like none of you do..nice huh" So this proves it then...the Roman who were pagan didn't want to give up their crosses so they..

  • @FXNorm used it to crucify Jesus.

  • God is tired and rests Ex 31:17 God is never tired and never rests Is 40:28 God is everywhere present, sees and knows all things Prov 15:3Ps 139:7 10 Job 34:22,21 God is not everywhere present neither sees nor knows all things Gen 11:5 Gen 18:20,21 Gen 3:8 God is all powerful Jer 32:27 Matt 19:26 God not all powerful Judg 1:19 God is unchangeable James 1:17 Mal 3:6 Ezek 24:14 Num 23:19 God is changeable Gen 6:6 Jonah 3:10/ 1 Sam 2:30,31 2 Kings 20:1,4,5,6 Ex 33:1,3,17,14.Biblical Contradictions!

  • like the man said if there is contradictions in the bible it cant be the words of God! God is satisfied with his works Gen 1:31 God is dissatisfied with his works.Gen 6:6 God dwells in chosen temples 2 Chron 7:12,16 God dwells not in temples Acts 7:48 God dwells in light Tim 6:16 God dwells in darkness 1 Kings 8:12/ Ps 18:11/ Ps 97:2 God is seen and heard Ex 33:23/ Ex 33:11/ Gen 3:9,10/ Gen 32:30/ Is 6:1/ Ex 24:9-11 God is invisible and cannot be heard John 1:18/ John 5:37/ Ex 33:20/ 1 Tim 6:16

  • dont make the cross the symbol of christianity. We appreciate jesus died for us. But dont make the cross the symbol of christianity. whether he died on the cross or on the stake. Because what if jesus is hanged to die? are you gonna make the rope the symbol of christianity? BTW, he is not JW.

  • @alangname

Even though I believe He died on the cross, I agree that it shouldn't be a symbol of

Christianity. Just to remember that Jesus, merciful, paid for our sins and we thank

him. Moreover, he only watches for our deeds and our heart, not whether there was a piece

of wood attached on another. I will pray for you.

    "My Your will be done."

  • The Greek word used for “cross” is stauros, which means “stake, pole, upright post or cross.” The Bible does not specify the exact shape of the “stauros” or “xulon” on which Christ was crucified. I personally believe it was a stake Jesus died on. Besides religious symbols or statues are forbidden by God.

  • @xpander33

I believe Jesus died on the cross, and I also believe that there should be no symbol.

Also, there should be no religion, just our faith and our relationship toward Christ.

It shouldn't matter whether there is a wood attached to another piece of wood or not.

Just do according to HIs will. I will pray for you.

  • @NewsteinChang i love what you said more people like us need to stick together

  • But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his HANDS and put my finger where the NAILS were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” - John 20:25

If it were a stake, 1 nail would be needed to pierce both hands. it says NAILS (plural). 1 for one hand, 1 for the other. Jesus' died on the cross...

Also, people try to say that the wrists were pierced, but in this verse it clearly says HANDS.

  • Got to Jerusalem... and lets see if you see any pictures or statues of Jesus on a single stake?? You will not!! The earliest pics are Jesus on a Cross!

    The witnesses are a cult!

  • Jesus died on a cross. The cross is not pagan. think about it? Did Jesus drag... the stake that goes in the ground?? No he carried the cross beam through the streets which was heavy enough. Roman Crucifixion was a very common thing. Stauros may mean a single stake but it is the only thing that means Crucifixion. The witnesses have distorted all the scriptures. They even replace THEY WORSHIPED JESUS ... with.. THEY DID OBEISANCE. That is so wrong. They hide the deity of Christ! Wake up JW's!

  • The cross is a pagan symbol. It was derived from the zodiac and was later adopted by Constantine.

  • Get rid of the carved image. It's a commandment! ~Exodus 20:4

  • @monteindamiddle7

We are not taking it as an idol! Or an image to be worshipped! It is just remembrance that Jesus died

and payed for our sins! A rubber ducky, stake, it doesn't matter! Just if you remember that Jesus died

on the cross!. I will pray for you.

  • @NewsteinChang Don't tell it to me, tell it to God. HE'S the one who said NO CARVED IMAGES.....Remember Jesus sacrifice in your hearts, and not with an image (It's a tool satan uses to distract you).

  • @monteindamiddle7

First of all, your only basic proof that Jesus died on a stake is that stauros would mean stake not cross.

The rest is just how since the cross was used through pagan symbols, that means it is satanic. That doesn't mean it is satanic meaning that people who think he died on a cross are demonic. It says in

Romans 14:14 that nothing is considered unclean. However, would it be a problem if you used a stake to use this as a symbol? Well, you think not, because of non pagan use.

  • @NewsteinChang It doesn't really matter whether Jesus died on a cross or a stake. My original comment was 'Get rid of the carved image'. Plain and simple!

  • @monteindamiddle7

And you think we worship this thing? No! Whatever you're implying, it's not what we are.

If you think that our whole life is just satanic and evil because this object is

said to be "pagan", well you're wrong. People defile it with their own minds, and then it becomes opinionated as bad. But originally, it is sincere and so was the cross. Also, it doesn't represent us. I agree that we shouldn't have an image, but it's not bad, or pagan. It doesn't mean our faith is corrupt.

  • Comment removed

  • @NewsteinChang It's not about what I think, it's about what God says! Can you read (Exodus 20:4)? Do you understand everything you read (Exodus 20:4)? Apparently you don't! The key words there are "SHALL NOT", and "in the form of ANYTHING". It doesn't matter whether the intentions, of its origin, were good/sincere or not. Stop looking for an excuse to participate in something that has no relevance at all, and get rid of the carved image!

  • @monteindamiddle7 I'm not referring to man's opinion or any worldly stuff, okay!!?!

We don't have crosses in our church, and if you draw a cross or do anything with it, you're not going to stray from the Lord. However, worshipping it is not good, so don't get that messed up. Also, it's not what Exodus 20:4 is saying. Whatever is leading the Israelites astray, there shouldn't be an image. YOu should take up the cross and follow me, as what says in the gospels. I'm not taking it as an image.

  • @NewsteinChang The majority of church folks has a cross. Satan is very clever and will deceive many in the last days.

  • @monteindamiddle7 Yes just like he is deceiving JW into following false prophets called the WTS.

  • jesus didn't die infact romanians caught a guy who looked like jesus and killed him also he's not alive god raised him to the skies and no im not christian nor a jew

  • Jesus died on a Stake not a Cross. I studied the Bible and did many rsearches. The Cross has become idolatry...

  • @Natashashaliyah You're right! Satan introduced the cross to mislead followers of 'The Word'.

  • @monteindamiddle7

It doesn't matter whether or not where it was derived. If you wore a T-shirt that was beautiful and said

true meanings, but it was built in an ogre factory, would you consider it vile? No! Same for the cross.

It just matters Jesus died on the cross. There shows a drawing of Jesus on the cross as an ass.

Also, stauros can mean cross in more complex terms. However, this all doesn't matter. What

matters is about your heart and your deed, as Jesus says. I will pray for you.

  • eto ang tunay n bakla si eli soriano....hehehehe chinupa nya si manalo hahahahaha

  • Do those who don't listen because of a JW doctrine red flag: People treat the Jehovah's witness a separate religion, but there wrong, this would be right if everyone was automatically a Jehovah's witness just because they believe in some of the stuff they believed, is this guy a a Jehovah's witness or had to be one to find out these evaluations? no. Just because someone who ties with there beliefs doesn't make them a Jehovah's witnesses and silenced from there ears

  • The cross where The Christ was nailed was alrady found by crusaders long ago, and was kept at the Vatican...

Go and have a look for yourself...

  • THIS PERSON IS UNDER ARREST FOR SODOMY!!!!

    Wahahahaha!!

  • why dose it matter how he died? umm why did some one have to die for our sins knowing that we would sin anyway...

  • @marybob321 Jesus sacrificed his life to undo what Adam/Eve had done, so God would forgive us and give us a chance to redeem ourselves. The first man/woman were perfect so it would've taken someone perfect to die for us. God could've sent any angel in heaven, but he sent his only begotten son to show us how much love he had for us.

  • @monteindamiddle7 Um he sent him self for him self to undo the things he made knowing that they would sin because he knows all and sees all... according to the Christin doctrine

    John 14:7

If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him

  • /watch?v=HvmazViFkRU

  • The interesting part of this video is that nothing was answered AT ALL. The question was cross or stake, please explain how the Greek words relate to this. The 'preacher' said "If God says it, and you're obeying him, you'll understand it." then rambles on and on further ignoring the question. Seriously, was his 'answer' satisfying to anyone?

  • you just didn't hear his answer. watch it again.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 While he did indicate that Stavros meant stake, the remainder of the question was ignored. The scriptures afterward were scolding reminders that as far as God and the Bible are concerned, there can be no error. What a preposterous and EASILY debunked piece of rubbish logic that is! This line of reasoning amounts to YHWH saying "Look, I'm God, alright? If you find an error it's because your brain is puny."

  • watch it again. it is you who doesn't understand a thing. for the romans, I and + are both termed stakes and he explained it.

"This line of reasoning amounts to YHWH saying "Look, I'm God, alright? If you find an error it's because your brain is puny."

...and the bible can prove it straight from God's own words.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 Then why are there Catholics?

  • because satan deceived them.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 Get out of conversation free card? OK. Just don't forget who's board it is we're playing on!

  • oh yeah? where can those catholics find the "catholic church" in the bible?

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 The real question is why you call it "The Truth," even in casual conversation. At least the C-C-C-Catholics have the courtesy to allow you to make up your own mind on that score, stand on their record, so to speak. Witnesses distrust themselves and their children to such a degree they need to employ Orwellian word-games. Find the Biblical basis for a Judicial Review being the LAST option for a doubter, rather than the second of three. Image is everything. Weak.

  • we are talking about christian topics here, which book should be base our faith from? THE BIBLE, of course.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 Way to employ the 'Witness Method' - diversion, distraction, red herrings. Read the last few of our comments again and decide if this is not so.

My point about who's game this is was an important one, despite my flippancy. The game is OURS - those of us who have enough faith in ourselves and our future to know it's not over till the next species-ending extinction event. (JWs would see a silver lining there) We're being grownups so you can keep pissing the bed.

  • witness method? you must be joking... you asked why there is such thing as a "catholic church". i gave you an answer; the catholic dudes claim that they are the true church? i was just biblical; where is it written in the bible? is "catholic church" the official name of the christian group who lived at the time of the 1st century?

  • cross's were around way before the christian era. they were used in Babylon. Crosses were used by the ancient Babylonians as symbols in their worship of the fertility god Tammuz. So why would anybody use it as a symbol of christianity when it came from pagan origions in the first place. even though thru knowldedge and educating oneself you can learn Jesus died on a stake. Idol worship, according to the bible is a detestable thing to God. (Eze 8:13,14) another one of satan tatics

  • the answer is simple: satan used the roman empire to kill jesus, they hung the Lord on a cross and crowned him with thorns (both crown and cross are pagan god symbols) to humiliate him, since he is the Son of the True God and he is a god as well. unfortunately for satan, Jesus rose from the dead and it was like one hell of a "f*** y**" moment for the devil, courtesy of God.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 Gen 3:15 is the 1st prophecy of the bible. tells us how God is going to correct what satan has done. As for the cross. the greek word Stauros means stake or pole, even cruz= stake. But no where in the bible does it say the stake would have a cross piece of timber. Look it up. it is in the original greek writings. It was prophecied Jesus would die on a stauros. = a pole or stake. one piece of timber. Satan knew Jesus would resurecced. per scripture mentioned.

  • well, the reason we believe that jesus died on a crossed wood is because for the romans, + and I are both called stakes and poles. so whether he died on a + or a I, no one's wrong due to this fact; it's enough the we know that he died on a pole or stake, which looked + and I for the romans.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 Given, but the bible prophecies that state jesus would die on a "stauros" which means pole, stake or a single piece of timber. No where does it say that the stauros would be altered. It does matter, satan wants to see ppl worship or idolize the cross which is pagan yet call themselves christian. Idolartry is a sin.

  • well, that how reality revels itself; for the romans, stakes are both + and I.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 but the + was a pagan symbol. and it is now mixed up w/ christianity. why would God want any pagan symbol to be involved w/ worship to him? Just a thought. Idolitary is what God does not want first of all, and the + is a pagan symbol used in worship in many faiths. see? would you where an electric chair around your neck if a loved oned died inocently in one? I have all ready explained why it couldn't be a +. Due to prophecy writings prior to Jesus coming to earth

  • you are correct, + is a pagan symbol and that's the whole point. roman empire is a pagan nation, of course they will include the + thing in their lifestyle. we can't help it, + and I are both termed by the romans as stakes as history and archaeology reveals. not originally to depict pagan worship but as their method of execution. whether Jesus was suspended on + or I, the results are same; Jesus suffered a slow, painful and humiliating (yep, he died naked) death because he LOVES us.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 cont' Jesus is Gods son. they are only equal in values, standards ect. that is why Jesus says if you have seen me you have seen the father. they are the most perfect bond ever. just like a child takes on traits of there parents. same here. but kids only have a few years, jesus spent aeons in heaven to get to know his father. Jesus admits this. He is not equal to his father. he prays to him, even at his baptism. God pours out his holy spirit on him. this i my son whom I approve

  • you mean jesus spent eons in heaven with his beloved pap. sweet isn't it? yes, he's lower than his pap, Jesus is a god like the Father yet the father is more powerful than him.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 But Jesus is not THE father. when you pray, you say Let YOUR name be sactified. this is what Jesus told us to do. do even if jesus is a god he is not THE God. who deserves our worship. For the bible tells us not to put anyone above God himself. and if you worship Jesus you are doing this. Jesus is our king. and we love him. he gave his life for us." But it is Jehovah your God you must render sacred service."

  • of course, jesus is not God himself. Jesus is a god like the Father; it's in the bible, they are separate beings.

  • @ShinnoHitoki000 yes, true, I agree with you there. so many don't feel this way though. Jesus is a god, But not THE God. even satan is a god in the bible. He is the ruler of this world. Pharohs in Egypt at one time believed they were gods. (even though they were wrong) I just want to thank you for being so polite. many are not. I enjoy conversing w/ ones who respect one another. so thanks :)

  • you aren't so bad yourself; as the bible said "do not repay evil for evil. instead overcome evil with good." you see, there are 3 types of people who are classified "impolite". 1, the dudes having a point but are so fed up with the lies around them that they use harsh words (in the bible, jesus and God can be harsh sometimes) to prove that they have a point (and they DO have a point). 2, the dudes who are just ignorant. 3, these are the low-lives; ready to wrestle the truth and logic.

  • He died on a stake his arms raised above his head, they would pull up their weight so they could breath or other wise would suffocate. The guards came to break the legs of Jesus & the other 2, so they would finally die another words so they couldn't use their legs to pull themselves up to breathe. when they came to Jesus he was already dead because he had been pierced in the side to spill his blood for us. The cross is pagan, another of Satan's deceptions.

  • @carlanorthcutt It is so not satans deceptions, it shoudlnt even be a big deal how he died...so be it weather or not He died on a cross or a stake, He still died! He' died!! He paid the price for our sins! And what does He get? People arguing how He died. It wouldn't of mattered weather it was a stake, or a cross, He didn't care about the method! He cared about doing the right thing for us!

  • AHAHAHAH this is great information but they shoulda used a different narrator. He makes it sound like a joke

  • Damn... when does he answer the question. .. Im not watcing no more.

  • i have videos on this issue

  • EVEN THE ROSERY IS A GRAVEN IMAGE, EVEN THE CROSS THAT IS MADE OF SILVER THAT RAPPERS AND OTHERS WEAR IS A GRAVEN IMAGE. and the usual answer i get is, "it is to remind us of Jesus death." LOOK AT THE BIBLE AND IT SHOULD REMIND YOU . then i hear, well its tradition, look up matt 7:13,14 and ECC. 8:9 for your "tradition".

  • My thing is. even if Jesus DID die on a cross. MAKING AN IMAGE OF THE CROSS WOULD BE A DIRECT SIN AGAINST GODS COMMANDMENT WHICH STATES " THOU SHALT NOT MAKE ANY GRAVEN IMAGES OF ANYTHING ABOVE,UNDERNEATH, OR ON THE EARTH." THE CROSS IS A GRAVEN IMAGE IS IT NOT?!!? whether it be WOOD,STONE,WHATEVER. ITS A GRAVEN IMAGE.

  • This is an easy Question to answer...all u have to do is search and find How did the Romans in those days crucified people..and The roman crucified people on a Coss not a stake

  • and for roman dudes, a I and + are both termed cross and stake.

  • jesus died on a cross (as in the 't' shaped wood) proof of this is in john 20:25 as they say nails(plural) a stake is the vertical shaped wood like a 'l' they said nails as in 2 nails for a cross stakes r just 1 nail need so READ IT UP AND U'LL SEE :D!!

  • @Stanlayzz 4 airbags in a car just for the 2 people in the front seats.

  • "What kind of a people are those people who do not understand the scriptures?" this guy is a real piece of work. what a genius.

  • I apologise if I give off this attitude.

I was brought up with Jesus and only last year started looking into this. I read the texts of the Bible and many historians. I really looked at Josephus and Tacitus and all the other historians of that era.

That's when I realised there was too much material so I started writing a book about this.

So there is not plenty of evidence. There is zero.

Look again at those prophecies. Look at the original texts. You will find today's interpretation is fake.

  • Can you back that up? Do you have an example?

    What are "plenty of places"?

  • I searched and found the knowledge that no Jesus Christ aka Jesus of Nazareth aka the Lord aka the saviour ever existed.

So I do not understand why people argue whether he died on a stake or on a cross as he never really existed. This is a character in a book of fiction.

What is true is that this figure was constructed from Greek, Babylonian, Egyptian, Indian, Assyrian, etc gods.

  • The historian Josephus acknowledged Jesus existence and his followers .. there are other Roman historians who did also. Theres more evidence that Jesus existed than Augustus Ceasar ..

  • Josephus did not. Fake.

    Who else?

Tacitus? Clemens? Pliny? etc etc all irrelevant or no mention of Jesus. Check your facts.

Caesars left writings, coins, inscriptions, eyewitnesses, buildings, historic feats, etc. Jesus left nothing.

  • i read plenty of places where non followers and even opposers acknowledged his existence .. i believe they dug artifacts about him also. either way im sure theres plenty of people who write or say he didnt exist. people add in things to Nastrodamas writings too lol

  • According to The Jewish Antiquities,Josephus,Book XX,sec. 200 he refers to the stoning of "James, the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ. Also, there is a very direct and favorable reference to Jesus, found in Book XVIII,sections 63,64, it has been challenged by some who claim that it had been either added later or embellished by Christians. However,it is acknowledged that the vocabulary and the style are basically those of Josephus and the passage is found in all available manuscripts.

  • And yes,Tacitus,a Roman historian who actually lived in the latter part of the first century, wrote: "Christus (Christ),from whom the name [Christian] had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators,Pontius Pilatus." That is found in The Complete Works of Tactius(New York,1942) and also "The Annuals,Book 15,par. 44.

  • So you found 2 - which are fakes.

    Is that plenty?

  • On what basis are they (the excerpts that I quoted,I'm assuming) fakes? I even provided you with the actual titles and sections and paragraph numbers. You only give me reason to think you just want to deny that Jesus ever existed for your own satisfaction and not off of facts and evidence.

And to answer you about Jesus leaving evidence,in the Old testament there were over 300 prophecies about Jesus so those were proof in themselves that he did indeed exist.

  • @chucksbrain can u gave me all the references?

  • mardimitriou, somebody lied to you. stauros in greek, the primary definition is an upright pole or stake. in addition, it can refer to a cross, but again, your wrong. there is no word for cross in greek for cross. the latin crux is where the term cross came from, and even then there is sooooo many different types of crux's such as simplex etc....

  • hahaha, this is great, there is people on here that think this man is a jehovah witness and he is NOT. just goes to prove, jw's are NOT the only ones who believe jesus died on a stake!! many, many other also do. and if anyone searches deep enough, this can be found to be true. so please quit making anit-jw comments on here, he is not a jehovah witness.

  • @davidhomme I think if he was a JW he would be quoting the scriptures from the NWT text.

  • What this man says is wrong. "Stavros" DOES NOT MEAN "A STAKE" in Greek. It means A CROSS.

  • he said stauros...not stavros.

  • The JWs stick a stake through people's minds. jehovahswitless dot weebly com

  • Jesus' ransom sacrifice should not be remembered by a image nor is there any command to observe a image, especially one that originates with something detesable to Jehovah. Praises are to be given to graven images but to God. Jehovah himself says that the cross is "something detestable" (eze 8:14) to him. Plus why even place error upon the people? Even if one does not bow down, who's to say someone who has no knowledge, would be enticed to do so? Bringing error upon the person who proceeded to..

  • originates with something detestable to jehovah? like the watchtower logo on your magazines? it is associated with artemis a greek goddess and also a main part of wiccan beliefs.

  • SIKE!! he was nailed to a cross. If not. why the HECK does it matter?

  • If it doesn't matter, then why do you say he was nailed to a cross? Shouldn't history and science decide?

  • Why does it matter?

History HAS already proved itself on this topic anyways. The JWs make a big scene about this. the Romans were Pagans SO therefore he was crucified on a pagan symbol. SO do you know that since the Romans were pagans that a stake would be a pagan symbol as well. there are MANY idol Gods in the world that are shaped like stakes. But in all reality to the Christians it shouldn't matter if he was crucified on a pagan symbol cause it isn't about the cross its about the sacrifice.

  • It matters because millions of christians adore and kiss the cross. Duh! No Biblical evidence even intimates that Jesus died on a cross. Had Constantine seen and been influenced by or converted by a Christian symbol, there should be some evidence to this effect in his actions. But this is not the case. Years after Constantine supposedly saw the cross, his coins continued to honor the sun god. They bore the inscription Sol Invictus (Invincible Sun).

  • No, True Christians do not adore the cross. Why? It is a symbol of shamefulness for Jesus Christ. It was where Jesus Christ was stripped to nakedness. And the death of Jesus Christ is not about whether he was nailed to the cross or tied to the tree. His death is about sacrifice!

Matthew 26:54 (King James Version) 54But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

  • It is about the sacrifice that matters, yes. Im not baptized but im studyin with witnesses. In the book of Ezekial, there's a deity over whom apostate Hebrew women in Jerusalem were seen weeping n tammuz was the name of this Babylonian deity. (Eze 8:14) If you yahoo search for "Tammuz symbol" or "Tammuz Idol" you will find much information regarding the cross. It is true that the "t" which is abbreviated for tammuz, was made into an idol and found its way into christianity. People worshipped

  • this deity, this "babylon the great" symbol. In fact, there was an attempt to introduce the worship of the idolatrous pagan cross into the temple of Jehovah at Jerusalem. Israelite women could be seen on the pavement of the inner court of Jehovahs temple, to be religiously weeping over the executional death of Tammuz (Eze 8:14)

How does Jehovah feel about it ?

    (Ezek Chapter 14; Ezek 8:6-18)

  • Wow, thats interesting information but does not contribute to the crucifixion of Christ. The Romans were pagans thus killed with pagans symbols.Christians DO NOT worship the cross, Catholics on the other hand yes. they are idolaters indeed. The cross is a symbol of Christs(Jehovah's) sacrifice for mankind. Tammuz is old testament and has nOTHING to do with how Jesus was crucified. But indeed Jesus coming was prophesied by the prophets of old, and it did come true.

  • (cont. 2) ..carve it and the individual who proceeded to bow down to it. Why? Why bring error upon the innocent one? Why would God almighty call this image "a dungy idol" or "something detestable"?

Not all of christianty consider the cross the symbol of their faith, but rather, the ransom paid by means of innocent blood, "the second adam", perfect, paid the way for our the future system of things.

  • shame on you alfredo6243. may God forgive you for you know what you say. Even in this video itself, you will notice that there is a poster that says " We do not accept financial contribution to non-members" . Don't be blind, you are just misled and confused about a lot of things, specially your beliefs (if you have any).

  • used for punishing the unrighteous during the brutal reign of the Roman empire. Nailing a sinner (definitely the Lord Jesus Christ was not one of them, but He died for them) to a plain stake or a cross do not contradict each other. Both objects are derived from a tree (xylon) as rightfully noted by the Apostle Paul in Gal. 3:13. JW's, get your doctrines right! Don't insist on preaching your fallacious tenets. The Bible is written for the understanding of those who obey God as Bro. Eli explained.

  • the Lord Jesus Christ, not a single nail. Let me post the verse.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. (Jn. 20:25)

There you have it! Both hands of the Lord Jesus have the print of the NAILS, therefore He was crucified on the cross. Brother Eli explained it clearly, a tree (xylon) is...

  • There was no contradiction in the writings of the Apostles and disciples of Christ regarding the object where the Lord Jesus was nailed to. Is it just a plain stake (stauros) or cross (also translated from stauros)? Both objects fall in the category of a tree (xylon) as written by St. Paul in Gal. 3:13. One passage from the Book of John actually gives us a clear understanding if our Lord Jesus Christ was nailed on a cross or an upright stake. Please read John 20:25. Nails were used to crucify..

  • JUST WONDERFULL!!!

  • To answer the question HE dodged. NO he didnt die on a cross. the greek word crux does not apear in the bible, saturos and xylon do those mean tree, stake, piece of timber, wood etc... now if you read Galatians 3:13, and cross reference it with dueteronomy 21:22,23 in the KJ, RS, JB and Dy translations you will see that it says he was executed on a tree or stake. also examine acts 5:30 and 10:39 as examples. This guys a phony!!

  • When the apostles said that Jesus Christ was nailed to a cross, I believe it; these men were the servants of Jesus Christ. It be a cross or a tree ,the fact remain that Jesus Christ was hanged and died for our sins. Most of the sins that he died for, was our being proud; which was exactly the first sin committed by Satan and entered earth by way of Eve!

  • And may I add, Thanks be to God for Brother Eliseo Soriano for this wisdom in the bible: to the outside is a mystery; but to those who accept Him, is grace.

  • To alfredo6243,

I would like to thank God for your acknowledgment of the word of God. (refer to your personal message to my account) There is no better way in this life, but to be in tune with the bible. Best regards!

  • I'm incredulous of his definition of the greek word for "cross"

  • Great speech Jesus did die, that is what count.

God and Jesus are peaceful, not as god of the quran.

Allah says in quran: Cut every fingertip of unbelievers 8:12,13

kill them wherever you find them 4.91

Allah turned the Sabbath-breaking Jews into apes 2:65-66 and pigs 5:60

    Kill the unbelievers 2:191-2

DESTROY THAT DENY OUR SCRIPTURES [QURAN] 25:36

Kill the idolaters anywhere you find them 9:5

the unbelievers should be murdered or crucified 5:33

    kill the unbelievers 9:29

  • yea the bible says pretty much the same thing; if non cristians or unaccepted arent being physically hurt or killed they get to be excluded and humiliated by cristian crack pods ;)

  • I was not in the US yet when this Bible Expo was conducted in NY. Listening to the video, in the first part of his reply where he was singing, I thought he will not address the question of the person. After almost 10 years in the Church, how stupid am I not to trust Brother Eli.

Really, I have not encountered yet a man so knowledgeable of the bible.

  • knowledgeable? what!!! this guy cant even answer the question posed.

  • lol I wonder what would happen if ADD would debate against the INC?!

The loser would obviously be blinded.

  • this guy is a wolf in sheeps coverings its obvious. he uses emotions to persuade not bible truth

  • prove him worng alfredo6243.

I never heard anything that he said not based on the bible.

  • ok but he didnt answer the question he just dodged it, went on to talking about the bible being not being hard to under stand

  • bro. answered the question, he said that that jesus was crucified to a cross(also termed stake). roman crosses resemble these: I and +, and for them both are termed cross and stake. if you think christ died in this cross/stake: I, you are correct. if you think christ died in this cross/stake: +, you are correct again. for more info, see kiekie84's comment.

  • Finally someone who sees through this guys Cloak of FALSE hood

  • hoy BayanNgKatotohanan!!!!

huwag ka na lang panoorin yan kasi sisirain mo talaga si bro.eli!!!! nagmamayabang ka sa amin!!!!!!

ang yabang mo gaya kay manalo!!!!!

    duwag!!! magnanakaw!!!!!

  • ikaw ang false, pare!

  • Ha, ha ha ha haha...I love you people, God created us to worship him, burn sheep, kill gays and loose women...definitely that makes perfect sense...So ask God for me.....Where Heaven is, I need a vacation....

  • The Imperial Bible-Dictionary acknowledges this, saying: The Greek word for cross, [stau·ros′], properly signified a stake, an upright pole, or piece of paling, on which anything might be hung, or which might be used in impaling [fencing in] a piece of ground. . . . Even amongst the Romans the crux (from which our cross is derived) appears to have been originally an upright pole.—Edited by P. Fairbairn (London, 1874), Vol. I, p. 376.

  • Très bien. Dans ce cas, donnez-nous l'équivalent en grec classique du mot "croix".

    Savez-vous ce qu'est un glissement sémantique ?

  • The Greek word rendered cross in many modern Bible versions (torture stake in NW) is stau·ros′. In classical Greek, this word meant merely an upright stake, or pale. Later it also came to be used for an execution stake having a crosspiece.

  • The history shows that on hebrew times until the roman times, people are crucified using a stake not a cross. The latin word 'crux' was not accurately translated. The word crux really means "stake","stick", depend on the situation. But it never shows that it means "two stakes combined together".

  • Soriano, this time I agree with your explanation about the cross where Jesus was crucified.

But with your explanation regarding "PAGMUMURA", I will never agree with you, those are plain philisophies coming from you, they are not from GOD.

  • But not enaugh Jesus could never carry a whole Stack upon golgotha cause it would be too heavy fo0r that distance. There have been medical tests who have proven that a man can not carry morethan the one part of the cross used for the hands. And this also seemes quite a hard torture. A ´stack would be rammed in the earth for numerous exicutions so why would jesus have to carry it?This also makes it more possible that it was a cross so accept that youre wrong guys im sooo sorry for you

  • And not enaugh the crucified of gaiva mathar was crucified and did not hang on a stack. This archelogical testimony proves that romans crucified their enemys just by nailing them on a cross so this seemed to be usual

  • You only need two nails if you crucifie somone on a cross!!!!For this posizion u need atleast two nails one through each hand

  • Ok now we end this discussion, Jesus died on a cross, read john chapter 20 the perikope o´f unfaithfull Thomas. In fact Jesus said look on the nails in my hands. So it had to be atleast two nails, because he uses the term the nails and not the nail. But how stupid would it be to crucifie someone with two nails on a stack. U Use one nail through both hands, for this position as romans certainly did.

  • Why would the romans change their method of execution from cross to stake?

  • they did not. to them, in terms of execution cross and stake are the same.

  • Jesus did not die on the cross, he survived and went to India. Google video 'truth of Jmmanuel'. Be informed Christians, and follow his spiritual teaching

  • so misleading. He says obey first then read the bible. How can you obey if you havent read and learned what he requires of you.

  • what he means is you must follow god's laws then you will understand the bible's "confidential files", for example: who is the anti-christ? what is the only one thing which is not present in the garden of eden? what is the true meaning of the 666? and many more...

  • Hi, ShinnoHitoki000 (your username is kind of "long") I am interest to know who is the "anti-Christ"...

  • correction pls, that should be "interested" and by the way, what do you mean by "confidential files" because this sounds very foreign to me.

  • confidential means not intended to be known publicly. you see, there are wisdoms in the bible that can only be discovered and understood by people chosen by god. somewhat of a secret communication between god and his followers so secret that even satan cannot decipher it. cool isn't it? prophecies and nook and crannies of sort, for chosen people of god only. yeah!
