  • What year was this?

  • if you see how pete taps his feet now thats abnormal if you can do that your in

  • Poor Johnny's out of his element next to straight-laced Pete Seeger. Poor June plays it cool. Must've been way worse off camera.

  • Johnny Cash is straight up tweaked the fuck out. Also, he says he has a small D.

  • @ModPlayboy

    hahhaha

  • that kid is higher than a pack of weasels in a bag of coffee beans. LOL!

  • Nice to see Johnny trying to crawl out of his own skin.... Tweeker!!!!! But he's still the greatest......

  • Le premier morceau ressemble bien au cripple creek mais la cerise sur le gâteau c'est que Pete le joue sur un banjo cinq cordes frétteless donc un manche lisse et j'en avais jamais vu !!! :0)-

One banjo five string frettless !!!

  • Not Rolling, not Jacko, Beatles neither.. any megaband, talent is there, where there is no "bussiness"!

  • Johnny seems to be high, crack or something...and the shoes are not on=) great clip! Pete and Johnny, two of the best.

  • Jhonny Cash!!!!! Pete Seeger!!

  • Extremely talented!!! Watch all of Pete's videos and then pass them on...this stuff is timeless!!!

  • What a talented group of people!

  • wow johnnys high as shit

  • Three of the most talented people that made music. RIP Johnny and June. Pete keep making great music!!

  • hi Folks!

    tis a great version!

    but Johnny's real´high!

if you like this version check out Cousin Emmy's version here on youtube, too!

  • A poor heart you have broken lies here...

    That is something else!

  • How sad it is to see Johnny Cash writhing in his own agony and pain under the guise of pleasure. Speed momma....speed. Take your shoes off. Set a spell....yall come back now ya hear. God....he had more octane running through him than a race at Pocono.

  • I don't remember what happened at the time, why is Johnny writhing like this ? He looks like affected by Parkinson

  • withdrawl

  • @allegradrums - Way to completely miss the beauty and significance of the trio playing. Seems to me, with the benefit of hindsight that June and Johnny had a wonderful adventure together. Drugs being just a detour on that trip.

  • She's fantastic, but her eyebrows!! omg! They scare me :/

  • That's the way real and natural women have always been, varied and rich individual textures. Not what they promote nowadays to make them buy waxes and shaving products.Dumb multimillions market programmed lambs.

  • she's actually fairly young here but i think she was going through a lot!

  • shes only in her 20's or 30's here

  • A wonderful historical document. As for poor tortured Johnny boy... Drugs make people interesting? I don't think so.

  • i love jonny and june but he is so high, i hate watching him. god help us addicts. pete is great. now i know why my wife left me.

  • What a treasure!

  • Johnny's in the basement, mixin' up the medicine! great vid, thanks fer' postin'

  • ahah.. banjo.. funy instrument.. great video.. magic years

  • "this show's about seeing what you in the audience

can do too." -- paraphrase. THAT was/is/and always will

be Peter's forte. No one can get an entire room harmonizing

    the way Pete Seeger can.

  • johnny looks high

  • her voice is amazing

  • fantàstic, ho he de tenir a la meva videoteca aviat!

  • Viva Pete Seeger

  • That was really great. Thanks.

  • Everybody talk about June Carter and Johnny Cash OK...but don't forget Pete Seeger, great artist and above all great musician. Thanks for everything Pete.

  • I'm a bit green about the history of Johnny Cash & June Carter, I never knew June could play, thanks for posting this one.

  • She was pretty proficient with a few instruments. I think guitar, autoharp, banjo, piano, and I want to say mandolin, but I'm not sure on that one.

  • She did play Mandolin, Johnny said so in his autobiography

  • you can just see june falling into a ring of fire

  • This really brings back memories. It's difficult to watch Johnny, but it's great to see these terrific artists. Thanks for posting it.

  • Wonderful! Thanks for posting this!

I'm sure June was pretty nervous about what Johnny might do on live TV...

  • Really great footage.(!)

  • This is a rare footage of johnny during his pill poppin' period. Sue it!

  • Yeah, Johnny is definitely strung out here. He's all twitchy and restless. A little difficult to watch but interesting nonetheless. June barely seems to take her eyes of Johnny the whole time.

  • Just a suggestion... you have Johnny Cash and June Carter as keywords in the description of part 1 of this (the only part they don't actually appear in) but not 2 or 3. So when doing a search for Johnny Cash, parts 2 and 3 don't come up in the search results.

You might want to add their names to the keywords.

  • I totally agree. Lucky I clicked on parts 2 and 3, or I might have missed this precious footage. THanks so much. Love that fretless banjo.
